The ideal size for a couple or small family made cosy by convenient gas central heating, it’s a perfect West Coast holiday base, close to Oban town centre and all shops, restaurants and bars. Carpeted stairs lead up from the elegant hallway into the apartment, with daylight streaming in through the large living room windows. There is a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, with warm wooden flooring throughout, beautifully decorated with a couch for lounging on after a busy day exploring the area. Newly installed well-equipped kitchen, with a large dining/breakfast bar for your meals. Peaceful outlook across the street to a small river, complete with ducks, which runs through the town, and is lit up at night. There are two generous size bedrooms, both are served by a shower room with walk-in shower featuring a large rainfall shower head with hand-held wand.
Central for touring Argyll and known as the “Gateway to the Isles”, Oban has lots going on for the visitor at any time of the year, with ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa and Lismore. Perhaps enjoy a walk through the woods to Dunollie Castle and Museum or a pleasant stroll along the Esplanade at sunset. There’s a kayaking centre which launches directly into Oban Bay and daily wildlife spotting boat trips from the Esplanade as well as a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just a mile’s drive or walk along the coastal road. At Glencruitten, on the outskirts of the town, there’s a hilly 18-hole golf course, an excellent riding centre and some longer walks through Glencruitten Estate. The area around Oban has so many outdoor activities, including diving, sailing, kayaking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking and fishing. Glencoe and Aonach Mhor in Fort William are easily accessible and offer popular walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing.
