About this property

Papillon, a modern Southwold flat with balcony

Idyllic bolthole perfectly positioned on Southwold's charming and cosmopolitan High Street. A stylish, contemporary one bedroom apartment for couples or individuals seeking an escape and total relaxation on the Suffolk heritage coast as the ultimate retreat.

Relax and holiday in style with Papillon as your 'home from home' in the heart of Suffolk's most popular coastal town of Southwold to dine in or eat out and have your own indulgent privacy, space and self-contained entrance.

Papillon is a short walk away from Southwold's stunning sand and shingle beach, dunes and marshland with an award-winning pier, thriving market town, artisan bakeries and delis. Visit the local Suffolk pubs and world-famous Adnams brewery, the working lighthouse and independent restaurants and an array of stunning home interior and clothes boutiques. A picturesque year-round destination with theatre, music and cinema entertainment and a colourful beach hut lined promenade.

You may wish to visit the enchanting neighbouring villages on your holiday including the foot ferry to Walberswick, the RSPB Minsmere coastal nature reserve, the Snape Maltings concerts, galleries and eateries or Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts.
Take a wander to gaze at the local colourful Southwold beach huts, breath-taking sea views along the prom and the spectacular Suffolk skies (or simply catch up on your emails or chill out with Netflix) in a retreat by the sea.

The loft living style space comprises of an open-plan modern bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed and silver antique French style chests of drawers adorning each side. With a private door to a separate modern kitchen with industrial decor and a luxurious velvet sofa in the living space with a contemporary breakfast bar with bar stools. Glazed French doors open out onto the private balcony over the roof terrace with an illuminated view of the local St Edmund King and Martyr Church and rooftops.

The high-end kitchen appliances include a four-ring ceramic hob with extractor hood and a Miele built-in oven, a Miele dishwasher, an integral under counter Miele fridge (no freezer), a microwave and a Nespresso Virtuo Next coffee machine (please bring extra indulgent coffee pods for a decent upgrade to 5 types of coffee including espresso and large coffees NB some of the coffee pods may contain nuts).

Enjoy your favourite film or series on the wall mounted smart TV whilst you relax on the comfortable velvet sofa opposite (log into your own Netflix account or live smart TV) and of course an Alexa Echo dot to tune into radio and fave music. The breakfast bar is also the perfect place to do a spot of work or emails.

The shower room is very modern and has a built in washer/dryer for your use.

Papillon has been carefully designed to offer couples and individuals a luxurious and indulgent coastal escape with a private entrance with stairs leading straight to the first floor. It is not suitable for children and pets are not allowed on the premises.

This apartment is positioned above a prestigious Tea Room (who offer tasty breakfasts, lunches and teas within a few steps) with surprisingly minimal noise in such a vibrant and central location. (There is an alfresco eating area to the rear of the tea room slightly visible from the balcony area, which adds to the vibrant and convivial community atmosphere).
The outside space of Papillon is a balcony not a patio.
Parking: There is a 30 minute drop off parking bay literally opposite on the High Street to drop anything off and then parking is recommended on the common or off-street areas nearby all within walking distance.
