About this property

The Tollbooth - The Ideal Base for Exploring

New length: 1,285 characters (still comfortably under the 1,950 target, with room to spare if you want it fuller still).

Edited description (ready to paste):

The Tollbooth is a bright, traditionally styled two-bedroom upper flat in the quiet village of Clackmannan, in the heart of Scotland`s central belt, overlooking the village`s historic Tollbooth building.

The flat has been recently updated throughout, including a brand new fully equipped kitchen. The stylish lounge features a large L-shaped sofa, perfect for relaxing in the evening, plus a comfy armchair and a dining table that seats four, all set within a bright, spacious living area.

Down the hall you`ll find two freshly decorated bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed plus trundle, ideal for families or small groups. There`s also a modern main bathroom with a shower over the bath. Free on-street parking is available right outside.

Clackmannan itself is a quiet, historic village with strong links to Robert the Bruce and the nearby Clackmannan Tower, and it has a few local shops and takeaways of its own to enjoy without needing to travel far.

Absolutely top-notch apartment in a location that is central to most of lowlands Scotland by car. All the creature comforts one could desire. The surrounding town seems to be on the upswing after some rough times, but everyone we encountered was friendly and kind.

This place looks great in pics. Bit hard to get to without a car, but, maybe in the winter time it’d be fine. But! In the summer, you need the windows open to get some fresh air… and that’s the problem. Right below the living room window is smokers’ corner, just down from the pub. You love breathing smokers’ and vapers’ exhaust All the Time? Go for it. The other big problem is the bedroom windows open along the wynd, which sounds quaint, but the drinkers’ turn that corner and spill, in loud voices, their true opinion. And the supplier for the pub pulls up at 2:30 am, loud music blaring, while he unloads his goods. Or the vans or cars that spped through the “wynd” as if it’s a A road at 3am. Sleep? You want to sleep in the summertime, with the windows open and Scotland’s fresh air? Maybe between 4am 6… when the mirning crowd starts pulling in.

Nicely decorated

This apartment was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The location wasn’t desirable but worked okay as a satellite hub for travel to Edinburgh.

Good Location for Surrounding Areas of Interest

Apartment is very well appointed and had everything we needed. There is a small co-op in Clackmannan, but you will need to go to Alloa for everything else. We were close to the Dollar Glen hike and a day at St. Andrews, as well.

Scotland Oasis

Our family absolutely loved out stay at the Toll Booth. It was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The house was clean and comfortable and so much to enjoy within walking distance. We slept 4 with no problem and plenty of room to relax and chill. We highly recommend this for your stay in Scotland.

Nice suprise

When we got there, we were a little bit apprehensive as the bar underneath had been closed and there was construction on the front side but once we got inside the room was fantastic and we were definitely look it again
