Need# update also pool needs update. Enjoyed the house as did my family. Not as close to the beach for the cost. Host was great and replied to all my questions quickly. Clean enough but needs some living room furniture updates. ? On TV never turned it on.

House was very accommodating, lots of space for our family. We loved the heated pool, screened porches, location near the beach and beautiful view. House was neat and tidy, cleaning crew may need to do a more detailed deep clean, but overall our experience was great!

Great location and views

This property was great for our group. Love the ocean views from the house and short walk to the beach. It was nice to also have a pool.

Overall the house was decent. The location was excellent. The elevator made moving groceries and luggage easy. The house itself was very dated. There was a lot of broken things around the house. Door handles, screens, towel hangers, chairs and various other objects were broken. Most things seemed to be easily fixed but weren't. You would think for the price each renter pays a week, these small things would be addressed. The host was accommodating the whole time. The central air stopped working while we were in route. The host went to Home Depot and purchased portable air conditioners that worked great. While Barbequing outside i noticed the main water supply to house was broken. I called the host and she sent a repair man over to fix it right away. I would stay again because of the proximity to the beach, but not because it was a lovely home.

Perfect Summer Getaway

First can I say elevator!? It made getting everything inside and to it proper place so much faster. The layout is perfect and everything seems to be just where it should. A home away from home. The beach was beautiful and the pool was refreshing. Definitely “My Happy Place”

Unique beach house

This beach house has an amazing layout and high ceilings. The elevator was such a great amenity given the Living spaces are on the top floor where all the views and light are best.

Elvator was exactly what we needed....but the floor was unswept and the traditional coffee pot had mold in it and could not b used....but overall good stay

My Happy Place is exactly that! It is such a beautiful home with all the amenities.This was our 2nd year to come to the island and as our family continues to grow, We needed more space this year, We had 8 adults and 2 infants and there was plenty of room for all to spread out. It was a great location as well. We love SGI!

Memories Made

We had such an amazing stay! Just a short walk to the beach- we walked to see the sunrise and hunt shells each day- loved the large table for a light breakfast and then headed back to enjoy the waves and sun. The pool was a nice incentive to get the kids back to the house and then we were able to do some relaxing afternoons before going out to eat at the awesome restaurants in the area! The house screams history and the owner is doing a great job of tastefully updating it and keeping the character of the house! Thank you for this opportunity to share in your happy place!!!

Amazing Location

This house was perfect. It is an easy walk to and from the beach with amazing views from the porches. The elevator was clutch for unloading and getting the kids up and down. The pool was beautiful and clean and the house was stocked with anything we could need. The one small problem we had with the sink was addressed and fixed extremely quickly especially considering it was a sunday night. I will definitely stay here again when visiting SGI.

I’ll start with pros: owners were very kind and communicative leading up to our trip. They were also very helpful when we had an issue with living room TV; promptly came by to check it out and brought a new TV in. Cons: Due to the above I hate to give such a negative review but we were very disappointed in this house for family vacation. It was dirty. I really do not believe they have a professional cleaning service clean in between stays. Examples: floor is dirty, toothpaste still in sinks/faucets, stains on bedding. Both showers with curtains had mold stains growing at bottom. Lamp shade in one bedroom had layer of dust. Blinds all over the house broken. Furniture is gross. Chairs are heavily stained. No cleaning supplies for counters, etc had to buy our own. We did not feel safe letting our kids lean on any of the railings around the multiple porches. Overall this house needs a major overhaul and it was hard to feel comfortable staying here for a week. Wish we would have listened to other reviews.

Happy Place

House was wonderful the elevator was a little hard to work sometimes but the property manger helped us to understand how to work it since you had to manual flip a button . Other than that the house was very spacious . The beach there was never crowered.

Family vacation

The lock did not work when we got there, but it was fixed very promptly and the elevator and TV’s are quirky just have to work with them. We stayed here over 20 years ago as well and it is a great location for sure. Beautiful views and the new floors are beautiful. The outside grounds need better care a lot of trash from maybe other visitors , but that is an easy fix. Hated to leave , very relaxing and the views!!!!!! Outstanding

A welcoming home

Our family had a wonderful time staying at your house. It was close to the beach, could get everything we needed in a 5 minute golf cart drive, had an elevator in the house... and those views! The sunrises were beautiful. the house was big enough to congregate and find privacy. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and pans one could need. For those that needed a little help with the many stairs (the dog and me :) ) the elevator was a life saver. A true relaxing vacation.

My Happy Place Review

House was spacious and well stocked. We found that several kitchen items had been put up dirty. When we turned the heat on, there was black matter that was blown out of all air vents on every level. We had a great time and enjoyed the heated pool. Thank you for sharing your rental home with us. We live St. George Island.

Sister's Trip

We enjoyed our stay at my happy place. The location is perfect directly across the beach short little walk. The views from the front porch are amazing. We did have a couple of hiccups but the owner was very responsive and sent someone out immediately to take care of them and they were small things. Everything is provided in the kitchen for cooking. The beds were comfortable. We did run out of toilet paper and had to make a run to the store unexpectedly but that's minor compared to the great time that we had in this beautiful home. It was the perfect getaway for my sisters and I.

We rented this house July 2026 and the experience was pretty bad. There were some positives which is what keeps this from being a 1 star review but overall, the negatives were far greater than the positives. Pros - The host was very responsive to all of the problems. Had a small pool. Had a 120V outlet outside so you could trickle charge if you have an EV.I would never stay here again. The house wasn’t just dirty — it was disgusting. Floors turned our feet black, windows had visible moss/mold inside, and the house smelled like a plumbing issue. The pool was full of bugs and debris, so I cleaned the filter myself.The deck and stairs were dangerous: rotted wood, loose boards, crumbling areas, and a handrail so rotten we kept the children off the deck. A handyman came out, added some screws, and left.The grills were rusted and filthy. Bathrooms were dated with stained showers and loose fixtures. Several outlets/switches didn’t work. There was no vacuum despite constant sand, and the TV had no practical way to watch live channels like FOX for the World Cup.We had people come out five different times to “fix” things, but nothing was actually resolved. The host was responsive, but I shouldn’t have to spend my vacation constantly messaging about problems. No discount, refund, or apology was offered. For nearly 1,000/night, this was completely unacceptable.

Beautiful home and such a nice and beautiful location. My family had fun. Had some issues with the cleanliness of the home (dirty floors, bathrooms, etc.) and also issues with the pool. The host, however, responds very quickly and sent someone out to check the pool. He would have sent someone to clean, however, at the time I didn’t realize that a cleaner would be willing to come back out. The host was willing to try to fix the situation each time.
