Once a Methodist Chapel, built in 1859 by Cornish miners, Chapel Bank House is now a cottage with a difference, benefiting from 21st century comforts in a historical building with many original features.
The house is laid out over three floors and is upside down in layout with its living areas located on the top floor (trust us the views are worth the climb).
Chapel Bank House is a well-appointed property with quality furnishings and appliances. The cottage is a great base for active families and groups, or just for relaxation, perfectly located for access to the fells, with local village amenities and pubs all a short walk away, and perfect to come home to after a satisfying day out!

Ground floor The front door is accessed via the terrace garden and leads you into an enormous entrance hall, with high ceiling. On this floor are two bright and sunny bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 - super king size bed or twin single beds. Bedroom 2 - twin single beds.
Shower room with a spacious double shower & WC. Please note there are four steps up to the shower room.
First floor Up one floor, there's a double room and access to the double garage, with its washing machine, dryer and freezer. There is also a sink and overhead airer, ideal for muddy/wet walking gear.
Bedroom 3 - king size bed with views across the fields to Coniston Water.
Second floor The top floor is a stunning, semi-open plan living area, with its arched ceiling to floor windows with views to three sides, which bathe the rooms in light. The living room, with its wooden floors, has leather reclining sofas, TV, DVD, MP3 docking station, games, books and films galore, and of course amazing views.
A separate dining room has a large dining table and there's an ultra-modern quality kitchen, with 5 burner gas hob, split level oven with separate microwave with grill, large fridge with ice box, dishwasher & slate floor.
There is also a family bathroom with bath with shower over & WC.
Outside A private paved terrace wraps around the house with flower beds & garden furniture.
Muddy bikes/cars or dogs, worry not, there's a 10m hose pipe available (stored under garage sink) which fits on the tap at the sink in the garage. The pipe will stretch to the road for use.
Travelling with a dog? We can offer free use of a 1 acre enclosed field in Coniston village, perfect for off the lead running, walking, training and playing. Use by arrangement with The Coppermines Lakes Cottages only.

Parking There's a double integral garage with room for two cars (max height 2 metres) and internal access to the house allowing you to easily load and unload the car without worrying about the weather. Public and roadside parking available nearby.
Please note access to the parking area is via a short, narrow lane (care must be taken on approach).
