The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Set hot tub temperature to 100 degrees. Make sure cover is on hot tub and is securely strapped down.
Wash, dry, and neatly fold all striped beach towels and put appropriate number of towels in closet of each bedroom.
Make sure to check that all your charging devices and personal belongings have been removed from the house. Check washer and dryer for clothes.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
1.) We rent to family groups only. 2.) Pull out awning is not for guests. 3.) NO PARTIES! 4.) No parking in the grass.
Checkout time is 10 AM, if late leaving you will be charged $25.00 per half hour.
On day of leaving, home has to be clean per checkout sheet given or you will be charged cleaning fee of $250.00

Great place !!

Great place. Just be aware there are a lot of steps and no elevator. The kitchen and main area are on the top level. Pool area was great, kitchen was well stocked, location was great.

"Great place" that is our goal, for each guest to leave saying those words! This is a large house with four floors which offers lots of private outdoor space for the bedrooms, ample room to spread out for multiple families, and spectacular views of the sound. Therefore, this means several steps for each level. The kitchen, dining and living room area tend to be where everyone gathers and being on the third level means everyone gets to enjoy the spectacular views of the sound and those breathtaking sunsets. If these communal rooms were on a lower level, then only a few guest would get to partake of this view. Thanks for noticing the well stocked kitchen, and our lovely pool. Wonderful Home!

There were 15 of us and we were all very comfortable in this home! The beautifully updated kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils and small appliances! The pool was wonderful and we all enjoyed the view of the sound so much! The owners were excellent to communicate with! We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Family Getaway in the Outer Banks!

We had an amazing stay at this Outer Banks home with our big family group — 8 adults and 7 children all under the age of 5! The house was a perfect fit for us, with plenty of bedrooms and common space so everyone could spread out comfortably.The private pool was a huge hit — we used it constantly, and it provided endless fun and convenience, especially with so many little ones. The beach was just a short, easy drive away with hassle-free parking every time, which made beach trips super manageable even with kids in tow.The location was ideal, close to grocery stores and anything else we needed during the week. On top of all that, the owner was excellent — very responsive, friendly, and proactive in making sure we had a great time.Highly recommend this home for any large family looking to enjoy the Outer Banks together!

Very nice for large group

Overall our stay was great. Great location as is a walk/bike ride away from the beach and community center which has pickleball, basketball and a fitness facility. The neighborhood was clean and quiet. The pool and hot tub was awesome! Improvements: the upstairs bedroom could use blinds and the bathroom off the kitchen could use a small corner stand to put a cosmetic bag and all the bathrooms could use some hooks. The grill is a charcoal grill youbwould see at a park that isn't really convenient.

Jamie, I’m so glad you all had a great stay! We work really hard to give families the best possible vacation while staying in our home. I’m so sorry you didn’t see the blinds in the upstairs bedroom. We were there 2 weeks ago and stayed in that same bedroom and used the blinds every evening. I suppose they may have blended in with the window framing. Many years ago we had a gas grill, but it became a serious hazard with people grilling way too close to the house and leaving the gas turned on. The outside charcoal grill was a much safer option for us. My family happens to love true charcoal grilling, but I understand that some do not. Your suggestion for a corner cabinet in the upstairs bath is a great one, and I will be getting on that right away. Thanks for your feedback. We are always looking to improve for our guests. We consider it an honor to be able to help families reconnect, relax, and rejuvenate! Have a great summer!

Tons of space!

Thanksgiving getaway

This home provided the perfect location for our Thanksgiving gathering! We are a family of 16 (8 adults and 8 children), there was plenty of space for all! Wonderful family vacation spot

The house was beautiful and spacious and had gorgeous views. It was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed for our vacation. The kids loved morning dips in the pool and afternoon trips to the beach. We were also close to fun activities such as go-karts, putt-putt, and bumper cars. The hostess was responsive to our questions before and during the trip and truly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time there. I also appreciated the list of nearby attractions as we had never visited Corolla before.

Great Vacation minus the Mosquitoes

It was a wonderful vacation overall. There were a lot of cobwebs on the deck area. There were a lot of mosquitoes because the house is next to a small lake. Really out of the control of the homeowners but they could have citronella on the decks for guest would be nice. I left with about 15 mosquitoe bites. Other than that it was a beautiful time. The house is nice and it was clean.

The views watching the sunset from our back deck are spectacular, but I always tell everyone to wear bug spray, since burning citronella candles is not a safe option. The mosquitoes are a nuisance all over the island and not just on the sound. If I am out in the late afternoon, we all have to have repellant on, in order to avoid numerous bites no matter our location. Thanks for the heads up about the cobwebs on the deck. I will be sure to let my housekeepers know. Thank you for mentioning the cleanliness of our home. We work very hard to give our guests the best possible stay and to ensure that they have a great time.

Great Location, Nice House, Great Owners - one listing fix

Hi! Our stay was great! The house is big and well appointed. It is in a great location. The only frustration is that the listing says the house opens up to the sound and there is a bridge in the picture that looks like it goes to the sound. The bridge is a neighbors and the while the property overlooks the sound and technically is on the sound there is no sound access. We brought our kayaks and had to go to the community pier to launch them. Other than that - Great!

Monterey Shores community was an excellent choice for our all girls vacation. The pool at the clubhouse was great for the little ones and the pool at the home was wonderful too. The owner was very responsive to all our needs and questions. The only suggestion I would have is to replace the dishwasher. Although it worked fine, it was hard to open and close. It didn't seem to fit in the space alloted.

Excellent property and location

I am generally quite picky and do not generate positive reviews without full justification. In this case I am very comfortable in saying we had an extremely positive experience with our stay. To start withe we found everything to be in excellent shape and as described in the listing. The house was clean and ready to go. We had a number of communications with the property owner leading up to the stay and she quickly answered any questions and made our stay excellent. Location is really perfect with close proximity to supermarkets and some of the best restaurants and shopping. The pool is very nice and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed that. Overall a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend this property. What I can tell you is we all went to relax and get away from our crazy schedules and this property hit a bullseye.

Great property and location!

The house was as listed and advertised. Lots of room and amenities such as beach items (e.g. chairs), pool items, bikes, dishes, blender, etc. Also lots of deck space and furniture to enjoy the cool evenings. The house was extremely close to the grocery store, beach store, restaurants, activities such as bumper cars, etc. The beach was within walking distance, but with our large group, we chose to drive. Several beach access and parking points were easy to find. The heated outdoor shower was very nice to wash off from the beach. The house was very clean when we arrived. The pool and hot tub were great and used by the kids (and adults) frequently. No issues with the house or amenities during our stay. The hostess was easy to contact and provided great communication and instructions. I would recommend this location!

Location is Awesome!

The location of this property is fantastic! You are within walking distance to the Clubhouse, Grocery Store and multiple shops. Beach access is super easy as well. The layout of the house is great allowing plenty of room to move around and find a quiet place if needed. The areas we frequented.......Pool and Hot Tub as well as the Kitchen, dining and living areas were great. We had 5 teenagers age 13-15 and they absolutely loved it!!! We had some minor issues that did come up but the Owner was fantastic, she immediately responded to fix the issues and worked with us to find solutions. I do need to be honest that there was a few areas that were not absolutely perfect. The outside area could use a good power washing and there was a musty smell in the basement bedroom but for us the positives out weighed those issues and our families had a great time.

Great Location !

This house is amazing ! Every room has access to the porch! Everything was nice and clean inside, the pool and jacuzzi was awesome! The board walk in the back yard is not part of this house property but the beach is a 5 min drive very beautiful and clean beach. There is a supermarket, bagel shop, pizza, dunkin and other little shops literally 2 min away ! We also went down to duck boardwalk 30 min from the house! so worth it ! We also did jetski 7 min away, so everything was very close which is very convenient. The outside shower is a plus! after the beach you rinse the sand off and jump in the pool, it helped that the shower water wasn't freezing cold. The owner answered any questions I had during our stay very quick to respond. Overall great experience for my first time booking through VBRO. I will definitely be recommending. !

We enjoyed a wonderful family get together... my wife and I, our 3 adult daughters and their husbands plus another single daughter, our 5 grandchildren that included 2 11 month old babies. The property had ample, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The common areas and kitchen had ample space to play, eat and cook together without feeling cramped in the least. The view of the well kept backyard and the adjoining water beyond as well as the view of the sound from the top deck where the kitchen/dining/living area is located was just beautiful. In fact the views from all of the bedrooms decks were very pleasant. We all enjoyed the swimming pool and hottub and the spacious area for lounging and sunning. The kids especially enjoyed the game room and the pop-a-shot basketball game. It was so fun to hear all the giggling and laughing. We had some rainy periods during our stay but there were far too many great choices for activities nearby to be able to take advantage of them all. We did visit the arcade, mini golf, many shops in the centers on both sides of the highway and a couple of the restaurants. There are two supermarkets nearby that we made great and frequent use of with all those hungry mouths to feed! Very convenient. Finally, the nearby parking lot access to the beach and the walking access to the beach a few blocks away we used daily. The beaches are wonderful and monitored daily by the lifeguards. I highly recommend this wonderful property!

Family Thanksgiving Getaway

It was a great property. The beds were comfortable. We truly enjoyed the view in the morning and at night. My husband love the bedroom near the pool. It had a mini refrigerator where could keep his water. My family would love the house.

Excellent for a multi-family stay

Four families with kids rented this home and made full use of it. Great pool and hot tub overlooking Currituck Sound. Wonderful open living room/dining room/kitchen on top floor with excellent views and enough space for everyone. Fridge was a bit too small considering the place sleeps 16. So many light switches we couldn’t figure them all out XD. Weird layout for bathrooms, as there’s not really a generic one unconnected to a bedroom. Bedrooms nice enough, though they struck us as more of a work in progress than a finished product. Very convenient to beach (10-minute walk) and to shopping (supermarket a 5-minute walk) and restaurants (a bunch within half a mile). 35 minutes from Kitty Hawk turnoff where WalMart is; we stocked up there on our way in and then just did dip-ins to Food Lion thereafter. Would stay again, but wouldn’t recommend to people who are really picky or looking for luxury.

Our family had a delightful time in this home. The owner was very responsive and helpful with anything needed. We would highly recommend. We had smaller children so we stayed pretty close to the house. The pool was just right for our group.

I am a retired school teacher that loves my grandbabies and spending time with them at the beach. Being with family is my favorite thing to do and doing that at the beach is a huge BONUS! Thus, the reason for our beach home. We love making wonderful memories with family and strive so hard to help our guests do the same while you vacation with your loved ones in our home. We hope to help reconnect families and help them have a time of fun and relaxation which is so needed in the craziness of life. My husband and I try to live by the motto, "Peace, be still." This home and its setting is a great place to experience calm and peace, and to be still. We hope our guests can experience this as well, at least this is our goal.

We work to provide everything you will need for relaxation right at your fingertips. Numerous spots throughout the house offer a place of quiet, whether you are sitting in the reading nook with one of our books, napping in the hammock, relieving aches and pains in the spa, rocking and watching wildlife on the covered porch, biking in the early morning hours, shooting hoops or playing table hockey in the game room, floating in the pool, watching a movie in the solitude of your bedroom, soaking in one of our two jacuzzi tubs in the privacy of your bedroom suite, or working a jigsaw puzzle with family. The goal is always peace, rejuvenation, reconnection and rest.

What makes this property unique

You will love this home! It is very private, yet within two minutes of shopping, restaurants and groceries. It is also within walking distance of the ocean.

The backyard offers a peaceful setting to bird watch and observe other wildlife while relaxing by the pool or sitting on one of it's three wrap around porches. Just five minutes in opposite direction is the "Drive on Beach" where you can cruise the beach for 20 miles (four wheel drive required).

This home is very spacious and allows room for multiple families. In addition to the four bedrooms there is a master suite on lowest level that has a king bed, queen size pull out sofa bed, kitchenette with sink, microwave, mini frig, coffee maker, large full bath, SMART TV and quick and easy access to the pool off of the adjoining deck.
