Handicap Accessible Home w 7 Bathrooms & a Pool - Perfect for Family Gatherings
Lovely southern style waterfront home located in a cove/lagoon in Jamaica Beach, Galveston that is a few houses from the bay with an excellent view. Large 3,394 sq ft home with one master suite, and three additional master bedrooms. There are 6 bathrooms total on the main floor. An elevator and a handicap accessible bathroom have been installed to make everyone comfortable and welcome. There is an expansive covered porch and decking on the main floor with rocking chairs, a swing, and additional seating on the uncovered portion. The master suite has sliding doors that open to the porch and face the water. The sleeping situation is as follows: Master Suite - Bedroom #1: King size bed, sleeps 2 officially.
Master Bedroom #2: Two Queen sized beds (this is also the bedroom with the handicap accessible bathroom). Sleeps 4.
Master Bedroom #3: King Sized bed. Sleeps 2.
Master Bedroom #4: Two twin beds.
The large master bedroom has two bathrooms both with showers, and a separate seating area.
Enjoy your morning coffee rocking on the porch right outside any of the bedrooms. The back deck off of the living area that is uncovered faces the East so it is shaded from the late afternoon sun. There is also a bathroom downstairs in the lower level of the house and an outdoor shower. There is a full size washer/dryer set downstairs and a stack-able washer/dryer on the main floor. There is a refrigerator/freezer upstairs and downstairs, as well as a separate chest freezer downstairs for bait or other things.
The double lot has a brand new large rectangular shaped pool with a table for seating and a tanning ledge. (In the photos you will see a hot tub, but it is not a part of the listing. If it happens to be working while you are there, we will turn it on, but it is usually not working. If you chose to rent our house, don't do it for the hot tub.) Please do not allow food in the pool or glass anywhere near it. Glass is very damaging to a pool and cause us to have to drain it.
There is grass on both sides for pets to use. There are several different games in the closet downstairs, a ping-pong table, and a foosball table. There also inflatable toys and toys for playing in sand for the younger children.
There are several life jackets of different sizes available to use with the 10 ft kayak and the paddle board. There is also a "Rave" inflatable water bouncer that is like having a floating trampoline in the water. In addition, there is a large floating pad for people to hang out on in the water.
You can bring your boat and tie it off on the side of our boathouse. Just let us know at least 3 weeks in advance so we can get a vehicle permit for you to use the Jamaica Beach marina area. They are $10/day and the owner has to turn in the information to Jamaica Beach to get the permit.
There is a gas grill outside and it is located very close to the boat dock and the fish cleaning station. There is also an outdoor burner with a large pot for crab boils. If you use the outdoor burner for a crab or shrimp boil, please do so on the concrete or in the grass, not on the wood decking. There is a crab trap to use which so far has caught blue crabs and stone crabs.
Enjoy having plenty of room to fish from the bulkhead in the back yard as well. Fishing poles are not provided.
The lower level of the house has room for multiple people to gather with its picnic tables and built in bar area. The kitchen comes well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/cutlery, a Keurig coffee machine as well as a normal coffee maker, and a Ninja blender for making frozen drinks.
Driveway is large enough to hold many cars, at least 10 if needed. There is no covered parking as the underneath part of the house is used for socializing and storage of the toys.
There are security cameras outside so that we can monitor the driveway, boat house and pool area. If you are in the downstairs boat house area, the driveway or the pool area; you will be in view of the cameras. VRBO allows use of security cameras outside, so please do not unplug them. Also, don't unplug the control boxes in the house. We need those to operate the pool equipment and for the outdoor security cameras.

The home is very conducive for a large family. The Host/Owner was very helpful, hands-on and accessible. FYI: Coordinate at the on-set of your stay with the Host/Owner to have the hot tub and/or pool lights scheduled to be turned on and off at specific times throughout your stay. Read and get familiar, as soon as possible, with the info the Host/Owner provides so you can get the most out of your stay. Feel free to ask host/Owner questions as needed.
This property was jus as advertised. The use of the elevator was a blessing to us, as my father is an amputee. The rooms were comfortable. The pool was amazing. We loved havimg the kayaks, etc.
We stayed for a family reunion over July 4th, and this place was perfect. Everyone wanted to cut the beach trips short to jump in the pool! So much room for our kids with plenty of privacy for the grownups. Wished we stayed for a month!
We had 3 generations staying together to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect. The house is huge so it doesn't feel crowded. The pool and elevator were a lifesaver since we had one person with knee issues. We had so much fun that this is the first time we didn't even go to the beach in Galveston!
The house is very well stocked and has lots of water activities like kayaks, etc. I would highly recommend staying here.
This is the 3rd time we rented out a place at Jamaica beach. We always rent a place with a pool and fishing for the kiddos. What sets this apart front the others is the extra space for the family to spread out and not feel to confined both inside and out. We had a few questions for the host while we were there and the response was within minutes of the text. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals and plenty of towels for the pool and beach. We will be keeping this place on our list of properties to come back to.
I usually don't write reviews, but we stayed at this property with 5 adults and 5 children. The activities were endless; fun for the fishermen and swimmers at the same time. It is a short drive to the beach, but there so much to do at the house, we spent little time there. There was ample space to spread out. The house was well equipped; I appreciated having the extras--small items you normally have at home but don't necessarily think to pack for a trip. Highly recommend for a fun family time.

We had a lovely time at this home, as it truly has exceptional character and provided our family with endless hours of entertainment. The space was well-stocked, which contributed to our enjoyable stay. However, I believe there are some areas that need improvement.Unfortunately, we encountered several cleanliness issues. Some of the bedding had yellow stains and felt dirty, and the pillows did not meet the cleanliness standards we expected. Additionally, the sofa and carpet showed signs of staining and did not feel fresh. These cleaning concerns were not up to the standards one typically finds in a hotel setting.Despite these issues, we appreciated the charm of the home and its potential. With some attention to cleaning, this property would be an even more inviting place to stay.

I have just noticed this review. I have gone over every square inch of carpet and large rugs in the house just this weekend and there are no stains whatsoever. The carpet was replaced new 2 years ago and is in wonderful shape. I have no idea why someone would say otherwise. It isn't true.
There are 27 pillows of every size and shape for every person's preferences. That does not include the pillows with decorative pillowcases, which is another 10 at least. If this person didn't like the pillows in their room, they could have looked in the 3 other rooms and found plenty of pillows to choose from.
As far as stained sheets, I looked through all of the 4 sets of sheets in the master bedroom and did find one single fitted sheet with pink stains from a popsicle or jello or something. I did throw that away. I will take a look at the sheets in the other rooms in 2 weeks when I return. If I find anything "yellow and dirty" I will certainly thrown them. Normally my cleaning lady throws anything too bad.
The sofa is indeed stained. It is a white sofa in the living room which doesn't fare well with renters. It needs to be replaced and in fact, will be before the end of 2025. So that one part is true.
This guest walked in the house when she arrived and immediately called me to let me know there were "NO TOWELS" anywhere in the house. I called my cleaning lady and she assured me that there were towels in every bathroom. I called the guest back and asked her to open the cabinets in the bathrooms and take a look. Sure enough, every bathroom had towels. She simply didn't bother to look. There is also a towel closet with additional towels that she didn't look at either.
She was very young, sounded about 21 and had used her mother's credit card and ID to book the house. I don't rent to anyone under 27.
She also called me again to let me know that there was not shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom and that I needed to send someone with those things. I let her know that there is nothing in this listing that promises there will be shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom. I try to provide body wash and shampoo, but not conditioner. If the previous guests take off with all the shampoo and body wash (which happens sometimes), then it won't be replaced until I return. There is a dollar store just a few miles from the house where these things can be purchased if needed.
I do my very best to keep everything clean and nice and well stocked, but there are occasionally those people that just want to complain. Unfortunately those people love to leave reviews and all the other happy people that don't have any complaints tend not to leave reviews.
THE ELEVATOR WAS ESSENTIAL FOR ONE MEMBER OF OUR GROUP AND WORKED WELL THE HOUSE, POOL, INTERNET, TVS AND GAMES WERE ALL GREAT. WELL APPOINTED AND GOOD A/C EVEN IN EXTREME HEAT. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HOUSE ARE HELPFUL. IF AND AS QUESTIONS ARISE OWNERS ARE AVAILABLE AND RESPONSIVE BY TELEPHONE.
SEVERAL MINOR OBSERVATIONS (MANY OF WHICH OWNERSHIP IS AWARE AND INTENDS TO ADDRESS);
LIVING ROOM IS HOT
RAVE-PICTURED ON VRBO WAS NOT AVAILABLE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INFLATED.
ICEMAKER MUST BE TURNED ON.
HOT TUB WAS NOT WORKING.
EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A $400 CLEANING FEE, RULES OF THE HOUSE REQUIRE REMOVING BEDDING AND TOWELS, AND TAKING BAGGED TRASH TO THE STREET

I am happy that the elevator worked well for your group.
The A/C in the living room does have a hard time keeping up in the summer. We had it serviced in May, but it is still a bit warm in the heat of the day. I am definitely evaluating having it replaced after the rental season is over.
The hot tub is indeed not working, it is very new and we are having problems with it. It has been taken off of the listing for this reason.
The Rave pictured on VRBO is too large to keep inflated all the time. There are instructions in the sheet that I sent out before check-in that explains how to inflate it. I would have walked you through the instructions if you had let me know you couldn't inflate it. Sorry you didn't get to use it, but it is available.
The trash needs to go to the street because the cleaning people may be several days out before they arrive to clean after a guest leaves. The trash people come twice a week and it is important for the trash to be out as quickly as possible so that it is taken on the next trash day. I don't want the next set of renters to see piles of trash sitting there when they arrive.
And finally, yes we do ask that you remove the sheets and pillowcases and put them on the floor outside the room. We also ask that the towels be taken downstairs and placed on the table beside the washer/dryer. That helps the cleaning people to get things done faster when necessary. Sometimes there are back to back rentals and time is of the essence for them. However, if you don't bring the towels down, it won't get you a bad rating or anything. It is just helpful for the cleaning crew.
I hope your stay was enjoyable anyway. We thank you for selecting our home for your vacation.

My wife booked this property last summer before she passed away so this was a special last gift from her for me, my daughter, son-in-law and teenage grandsons. The property is large and was very comfortable. Each of the 4 bedrooms had it's own ensuite, although we only used 3 of the bedrooms. We haven't cooked on an electric range in years, so there was a bit of a learning curve to remember how different it is from a gas range. The pool and hot tub is amazing. We spent a great deal of time sitting nearby listening to the water from the hot tub gently cascade into the pool during the day. Very relaxing. The hot tub was great especially since we had a cool spell the week we stayed. The cool spell also impacted the water in the lagoon area, but kayaking was fun. Fish were not biting well, but that didn't stop anyone from trying every day. It was amazing to see not just the teenagers, but all of us put down our electronics for a few days. At first we were concerned that there was no cable, but we never really missed it. The internet connection was great throughout the property as both my son-in-law and I were taking vacation but still had to take care of work for a while each morning. Our host was great at making sure everything was going well and responded quickly to any questions we had. Overall we had a wonderful time at the Gray Pearl. All of us would recommend it.
My family decided to rent this beach house to get away together after a very hard year. Unfortunately, it only got worse after staying here. After several disappointments (hot tub not working after being told it would be, living room tv not working, having to put safety cones along new stairs that were built with no railing, etc) we were incredibly astonished at being charged for damage WE DID NOT INCUR!! A major storm came through one night with 60-70 mph wind gusts and damaged the door to the 2nd story and broke a table on the deck. We brought in all the furniture we could as storm was coming to help out the host and I contacted them the next day to inform them of the damage. I personally tried to figure out what was wrong with the tv in the main living room and had 2 technical adults look at it as well. We unplugged the main plug from the wall and plugged it back in with no success. There was a cord already taped with electrical tape to the tv so I assumed it was just broken. The day after we checked out I received a message from the host that she was taking our $500 deposit because we broke their tv and their door!!! I offered to pay something for the tv because I did unplug it - as harmless as that should have been. But not only did she want to charge us for a new tv BUT also a new tv stand!!?? I wish I was joking. But to top it off - she blamed us FOR THE DOOR! She filed $1227.86 worth of damage against me. If this can happen to us, it will happen to you. DO NOT RENT!!

I have been renting this house on VRBO for six years. I have not had any significant problems with renters until now. I was at the house watching the TV the night before she arrived, it was working fine. The storm door was also just fine before she arrived. When she checked out, the TV was broken because the electrical panel had been damaged when all the cords were ripped out. In fact, most all of our electronics had the cords unplugged (Wireless, Roku’s, pool controls, TV's, etc.)
Yes, I had to get a new TV mount because the TV (a replacement of the exact same brand and size) would no longer fit on the stand because of the way the legs are on the TVs now.
As for the storm door, while there may have been a windstorm that evening, the door would have been just fine if it was closed. There have been many storms go through with high winds, the door didn't even shake if it was shut. The door when we examined it had been locked open during the storm and was still stuck in the locked open position. I have photos of it that were turned in to the insurance company.
We never told her that the hot tub would be working. This is a new pool, and the hot tub hasn't worked since we had it put in. It is no longer even in the listing.
She got her full deposit back and yes, I filed with the insurance the exact amount that it cost me to replace and fix what was broken from that rental. That is what insurance is for.
Mostly I have had good experiences with renters for these six years, but unfortunately, this was not one of those experiences.
Amazing house on a wide canal with views of the bay! This house was exactly as described. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. We had a very relaxing trip and highly recommend this house, especially for very large families.
The Host Casi went above and beyond. A care free week at the beach with the family. We went to the beach twice but had all the fun at the house. One of the best was using the kayaks to paddle over to the state park and watch the sunset.
Excellent property and wonderful communication with property owner. 12 in our family and we had plenty of room. We were on a lagoon and water “toys” were excellent. There was just so much to do on property.
The home, outdoor area & property owner are exceptional. This home was the perfect size for my husband, adult children, grandchildren & myself. There are plenty of beds & bathrooms for everyone. We enjoyed drinking morning coffee on the wrap around porches & eating dinner at the table outside. Our grandkids had a blast swimming in the bay & using the lily pad & water trampoline supplied at the house. It took us 10 minutes to drive to the beach & it’s about a 20 minute drive to Pleasure Pier. At night we hung out playing ping pong, air hockey & other games supplied at the house.
There are numerous bath & beach towels for everyone. The kitchen is supplied with much more than any other VRBO we’ve stayed in previously. There is plenty of parking space for multiple autos. The elevator was a huge plus for our disabled son, as well as the handicapped shower. Our family had such fun staying together at this property & made wonderful memories. After only two days of returning home, the grands asked how much longer until we go back!! The owners have thought of everything you will need & more! Casi answered all of my questions promptly & was a joy to communicate with.
We had a great large family vacation. The house was the perfect size for us. The house was so quiet for those that wanted to sleep a little later. The only problem we had was that there were a few towels for us to us the first couple of days due to an issue with the larger washing machine. But Casi did a great job of communicating with me when the additional towels would be available. The kids had a great time catching the little fish at night and adults enjoyed fishing from the dock. The time went by fast and was too short.

Yes there were two problems that occurred at the same time with the towels. The previous renters used an inordinate amount of towels and the large washing machine also broke while they were there. It took several days to get the laundry finished off site after they left. That was unfortunate because it was a same day turnaround and Kristen's family didn't have the good quality bath towels to use for several days. There are many beach towels available to use, but not as many bath towels. It took a while to get those clean but the good news is that there is a different washing machine now so it should not be an issue.
House was perfect, had literally everything you would need. Was incredibly easy to contact owner with the couple questions we had, she literally answered in minutes. Room for everyone, everything was very clean , just a great experience. Thank you so much for having us, we will be back!!!!
This place was exactly what we needed. Wheelchair access was great. Elevator made it easy along with the accessible bathroom. Short drive to the beach. Lots of room and tons of great deck area. Owner was very responsive. Will definitely stay here again.
14 of us stayed a week in this lovely home. The description is exactly what it says and the fishing was such a fun time for the kids.
There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax.
The beach was very close and Galveston was just a short drive.
We hope to come back soon!
Awesome property, will not be disappointed.
Great communication with owners and plenty of things to do (Kayak, Swim, Beach, Enjoy porch)
Great family time

About the host
Hosted by Casi Khushf
My husband and I met at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and have been married now for 35 years. We have 3 sons, one daughter-in-law and two grandcats. We reside in Sugar Land, Tx and really just love Galveston. My sons are avid fishermen and enjoy fishing right off our boat dock or in the State Park which is very close to our lagoon.
Why they chose this property
We have been renting homes in Galveston for summer vacations for years. We love the diversity of ocean life here and the little creatures you can find in the seaweed. When we sold another property and had an opportunity, we wanted to get a home in Galveston on water with a bay view. This house was very well built by an owner/engineer who put his all into the quality of the construction materials and it has a bay view, so it was a quality home to purchase that met our needs.
What makes this property unique
This home is on a quaint little friendly cove that is always a happy and lively place in the summer. I enjoy watching the neighbors float and fish and paddle around in the water. I also like the kayaks that silently glide into the cove at night to fish the underwater fishing lights. I am very excited about the new pool and hot tub installed in 2023.
