Principe Real two-bedroom

LOVED the location: quiet side-street near main streets. If you like to walk, you can easily get to all of the tourist sights of Lisbon (or cheaply take Bolt or the metro). Very close to the bars and cafes of this neighborhood. Definitely "cozy" i.e. small, typical to other places nearby. Kitchen well-equipped. Appreciated the A-C during the heat of the day!

Good location, generally quiet. Not as clean as we would have liked

Positive: * nearby 3 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 small groceries, and a bigger one (Continente) * within walking distance (600 m, 1 km) of 2 subway stations & downtown * all electrical appliances work well, hot water Negative * a bit noisy at night * dishes & appartment not as clean as one could expect (we had to rewash pots & plates) * ... as well we say & killed 4 cockroack, one for every day of our stay!

Health hazard

The apartment needs to be taken off the market as it is a serious health hazard. There is a damp problem that needs urgent attention. On entering the property a strong smell of damp hits you. The plaster has blown in all the rooms and is coming off the walls. The wall behind the bed in the rear bedroom was wet to the touch throughout our stay, and where the bed touches the wall, thick black mould spores could be seen with a torch. The cupboard in the hallway smells so strongly of mould that we couldn't use it and had to keep the doors closed at all times. The property has insufficient ventilation- there are only 2 tiny windows. With so little air and so little light, the mould can grow unchecked. My mother suffers from asthma, and these conditions triggered her symptoms. On our final night 2 giant cockroaches had to be killed in the kitchen and front bedroom. In addition to the unsanitary conditions, we felt quite unsafe. On arrival, a man living next door came out and screamed obscenities at us while striking our taxi with a pole. He then started to bang on our door. As the lock on the front door of the apartment building was broken, we were left feeling quite vulnerable. Lisbeyond wasresponsive and sympathetic but took no action. The door was never fixed. They offered to send a cleaner to deal with the mould, which was kind, but the damp is inside the walls and under the plaster so, as I am sure they are aware, a cleaner would not be able to make any impact. Die Unterkunft hat eine gute Lage zur Erkundung Lissabon zu Fuß, bietet aber auch mit 2 Metrostationen eine gute Anbindung. Zum Schlafen ideal ruhig in einem Wohngebiet und trotzdem nach kurzer Wegstrecke auf Hauptstraßen. Küche ist gut ausgestattet und Bad sehr schön. Im Bett lässt sich wunderbar schlafen nicht zu weich und nicht zu hart.
