An absolutely lovely stay at this cottage in January. The cottage is lovely, warm, clean and cosy, had everything you could possibly want. Loved the little touches like the scones and biscuits and milk. Bed very comfy and such great service from the owners. Would definitely stay again!

A long weekend
A lovely cottage in what appears to be a remote location, but is actually quite close to both the coast and the Lakes. Weell described in the cottage and the hosts are brillaint and very helpful. The standard of welcoming gifts was impressive, the fresh eggs were particulalry nice. Would definately recommend for a couple. Note the wifi speed and connectivity were great too. Thank you.

Christmas Mini-Break in the Lake District
We arranged this break very last minute and were supported throughout the entire process by both Howard and Karen. They were extremely accommodating and were in constant contact before and during our stay. On arrival, the property was beautifully clean and decorated for Christmas. There were key essentials already in the kitchen and bathrooms, including a lovely treat of homemade mince pies, biscuits and wine which were very welcome but completely unexpected. The area is picturesque and perfect for anyone wanting a quiet break away. This was ideal for us, but the village was also not far from other larger cities/towns, which was good for sightseeing and shopping. The property itself was cosy, with a beautiful gas fire, smart TV and comfy seating. We spent a fair amount of time indoors due to the weather and with it being the Christmas period, a lot of the usual attractions and tourist spots were closed. However, this was not a downside as it gave us a lot of time to relax. Howard and Karen provided us with a booklet full of useful information such as nearby sightseeing opportunities, walks and restaurants (including some which were dog friendly). Our little Jack Russell absolutely loved sitting in his bed by the gas fire at night with us and we felt Howard and Karen were extremely dog friendly- providing us with a draw full of doggie necessities. We were sad to leave on the final day of our holiday and hope to be able to return one day- perhaps when the weather is a little nicer and we can make the most of the other attractions the area has to offer! Thank you both for a lovely stay!

A Cosy Cottage in a great location to explore The Lake District
The cottage is situated in Asby and is ideally situated to explore the Western Lake District. The cottage is well presented, we arrived to some nice complimentary treats that were very much appreciated after a long drive. The lounge is roomy enough for a family of four, our dog loved the gas fire too! The kitchen has everything you need for home-cooked meals, and the downstairs bathroom has a powerful shower. Upstairs are the bedrooms and are a good size and very comfortable. We felt at home very quickly. We tackled Ennerdale (a good 5 hours walking) and found Buttermere very picturesque. When returning to the cottage we were instantly relaxed. Great Internet connection too! (so the kids were happy) Supermarkets are within a 15 minute drive. A big thankyou to Howard and Karen for making us feel very welcome. Would definitely consider returning - highly recommended.
