Welcome to The Moat House, a truly beautiful, thatched country cottage set in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

Newly renovated in 2022 in a way that is sympathetic to the age of the cottage yet packed full of modern features and your creature comforts, this cottage has it all. On the ground floor you will find the fabulous kitchen that comes extremely well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher,and electric hob, as well as everything you will need during your stay. The utility room has a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, leading off from here is the downstairs shower room with walk-in shower.

The stunning dining room has original oak panelled walls and beamed ceilings, while the living room has dual aspect windows, beams, comfy seating and electric wood burner. Upstairs you will find three spacious bedrooms, one being a twin and the other two having king sized beds, the master bedroom has wonderful views over the fields beyond. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail.

Outside you will find a glorious lawned garden with amazing countryside views to sit back and enjoy, while to the rear you will find a partially covered barn with your own hot tub and games area, it’s the perfect spot for all the family to relax and have fun!

The Moat House is set in the hamlet of Cudworth, just a few miles from both Chard and Ilminster towns, both with a mix of shops and local eateries to enjoy. The larger towns of Yeovil and Taunton are easily reached in under 30 minutes where a larger selection of shops and entertainment can be found. Several National Trust properties can be found nearby as well as country parks such as Ham Hill and Castle Neroche. Lyme Regis beach is just over 20 minutes away by car and is a great day out for all the family!

Fantastic house in the middle of no where, no distractions just peace.

Fantastic house in the middle of no where, no distractions just peace. We made full use of the facilities in the house and the barn with hot tub, bar and pool table kept all entertained for hours. Some lovely little touches too, pick and mix for the kids, a very welcomed bottle of milk after a disastrous journey and a bottle of fizz to enjoy. Kids have voted we will be back!

By far the best uk holiday we have had.

By far the best uk holiday we have had. There is nothing that has not been thought about with this property. It is spotless and massive!!!Made celebrating my 40th a magical one. Waiting for summer dates to be released for next year so we can book again for a long stay.

We had an absolutely amazing time.

We had an absolutely amazing time. The cottage was outstanding. There are no shops or anything around its complete peace and quiet. The hot tub and games area is fantastic kept us all entertained.The only reason we give it a 4 star is because we had the large double bedroom and there is something living above in the loft space. Every night we went to bed it started running about and straching to the point that we didn't sleep well any of the four nights. One night it was so bad we had to sit up and put the light on. This didn't effect the other two rooms just this one. Such a shame. Needless to say we arrived home shattered! The cottage was perfect for our friends to all get together, they all loved it.

The Moat House is a lovely place to stay.

The Moat House is a lovely place to stay. The house is lovely and very spacious. Hot tub in the barn is a great extra. The house is equipped with everything you need, could do with some drawers in the twin room. Beds were comfortable, we found the sofas not the comfiest, they look lovely but not really great for lounging around. Having said that these were little things but our time at The Most House was fantastic. Definitely need a car if you’re visiting as it’s in the middle of nowhere but very quiet and relaxing. We loved it!!!
