Large rear garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and wildlife habitats. Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are several ponds, rocky outcrops and loose rocks in the garden.. You enter the property into the open plan kitchen/dining area, and this immediately gives you an insight into the age of this beautiful property. The kitchen is well appointed and laid out and has all the appliances you could wish for making it easy to create anything from a simple sandwich to a full Sunday roast. The open plan layout with the dining room means that you can comfortably enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple whilst watching the chef work his magic and discussing the days adventures. And with the log burner warming the room you might just find you spend all night in this welcoming environment.
Moving up the property there is another welcoming room, the lounge, which offers a relaxing space to enjoy a bit of TV or simply sit and watch as logs slowly burn away to ash in the open fire. There are four bedrooms to choose from, the first is the downstairs, twin bedroom, then upstairs there is a double room with a small double bed, another double with standard bed and finally the master bedroom which also has an ensuite shower room. To complete the accommodation there is a family bathroom with a lovely deep bath and shower over it. The garden is large and complex and a lot of fun. There are lots of interesting features including several ponds, rocky outcrops, loose rocks and dry stone walls, wildlife habitats and some magnificent mature trees, a perfect relaxation spot.
You’ll find lovely spots to take in the views or simply sit and relax with a glass of wine on a summers evening. The property is located in a quiet hamlet close to Backbarrow, for the walkers in the group there are walking trails available from the front door. Whilst it is in a rural setting you are within easy reach of some of the most popular attractions in the Lake District, within a 10 minute walk you can visit Lake Windermere, the Lakes Aquarium, Haverthwaite Steam Railway, Motor Museum, escape rooms or the market town of Ulverston, so as you can imagine you’re never going to be short of something to do regardless of your preferences. Cartmel is 5 miles away and has a very well-known 3 star Michelin restaurant if you truly want to spoil yourself!
