Excellent family trip to Ponta Delgada

Our stay at the villa was excellent. The house was just as described, very comfortable and spacious for our entire group. We enjoyed the large kitchen and living room area and Joao was very responsive with any questions we had while staying there for the week.

We stayed at this property with a group of 13 ladies and were able to comfortably accommodate everyone. The home is spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained. The surroundings are peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. All the amenities worked perfectly and met our needs. Great place for a grouo

One of a Kind property was an excellent place for 3 couples to enjoy a week on Sao Miguel. Joao was incredibly helpful and responsive. The bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas were spacious and welcoming. Although it was a long walk to the main part of town it was easy to keep 2 cars at the place and a short drive. This was a great location for exploring the whole island. Highly recommend!

Fantastic house with a view

Beautiful and modern place with ample bedrooms and baths. Indoor and outdoor kitchen opens to pool area. Pool with window into the house was loved by my guests. The owner was very attentive to all questions within 30 min. Only thing was kitchen could have used spices and some basic cooking oil but easily fixed. Would definitely repeat!

Sao Miguel getaway

Stayed for 8 days and 7 nights second week of June 2024. The house was great and plenty of room for our group of 9. We especially enjoyed the pool area as we had perfect weather while we there. Location was great and communication with the host was always answered quickly.

Great location

This house is exactly as it shows in the pictures. It was in a quiet area and within minutes of driving, you are in Ponta Delgada. The host Joao was quick to answer any questions that we had. The house was more than spacious for the 11 of us. I would definitely recommend this house for any large group.

Perfect!

We had a fantastic time in São Miguel! The property was beautiful, very private yet a great location close to markets and restaurants, also central to all locations on the island. The home is very clean and was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We didn’t use the pool as the weather was chilly and windy, but we took advantage of the hot tub, very welcoming after long days of sightseeing! Although we had a smaller group (4 adults), there is plenty space for a large family. João is a fantastic host, very responsive to questions and always right there to offer tips and suggestions for things to do and places to see. We hope to be back someday soon, when we do this will be where we stay! Thank you, João, for a fantastic week!!

Great family stay for 12 ppl

We enjoyed our stay with the fantastic amenities here. João provided all the answers to our many questions and helped with extra towels etc. when we asked and needed anything. We found it a bit tricky to find the long driveway as did Uber eats and a few taxi drivers. Thanks for everything and we will see you when we come back!

Great for big family

This stay was perfect! We had a big group of 9 people ranging from 72yrs to infant and there was plenty of space for us all. Baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs made sure the babies were safe. Location was perfect. Quick drive into Ponta Delgada or the highway if you want to go farther. João was very helpful and quick to respond. Even offered to buy extra life jackets and toys for the little kids! It was a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend!

A very memorable family Christmas 2024!

From the moment we were welcomed with a personalized greeting and bottle of wine, a decorated Christmas tree and holiday decor, our family of 10 felt immediately at home! The house is a beautiful in the listing as it is in person. Well appointed kitchen, modern bathrooms with an abundance of hot water and great pressure! Enough room for togetherness and also privacy. We really enjoyed the hot tub and used the swimming pool as a cold plunge as it isn’t heated. The island has so much to offer and we took full advantage of it all! Thanks a million Joao for your generous hospitality! Happy New Year from the Rooney family!

Our favorite rental we’ve ever stayed at

There is nothing that could have been done to improve our two week stay here. We comfortably slept twin three year olds, us, grandparents and my brother in law. The location is perfect, it’s quiet but close to the city and easy to get anywhere on the beautiful island. My kids thought the window seeing into the pool was the coolest thing ever, and the layout of the pool itself was perfect for kids and adults. Joâo responded quickly leading up to the trip and while we were there. I can’t recommend this rental more!

Beautiful House in a convenient location!

My family and I brought my mother, who’s family originated in the azores here for a family vacation and it was an absolute blast. The place was incredible, the house was clean and well maintained. The pool was a huge hit with the kids and very refreshing after a long day of hiking and exploring the island. The outdoor shower was nice to clean beach sand off and rinse off before going into the house. The wood fired grill was great for a few nights we stayed in for dinner. We had more than enough room, good closet space for our items and enough beds to comfortably sleep us all.Joao was very accommodating and kept in touch with questions we had and was kind enough to give us some tips and local knowledge about places and restaurants to check out during our stay. I can’t really find a negative to speak of. It really was great and we would definitely book again.

I found it somewhat hidden to find but too difficult. Joao was amazing to speak with. Always pleasant, patient and kind. Extremely helpful with all my questions. The cleaning staff came in half way through oour visit, which was nice to see. Giving us fresh towels and new bedding. The ladies were incredibly efficient. The house was clean and spacious. Bedrooms in the lower half was different from what we’re accustomed to. The walking up and down the steps, kept us in shape and helped with maintaining our weight,LOL! But seriously, bedrooms were great, clean and with aircon units or fans. Sound proof. One little complaint because every Country is different and we are spoiled, some mattresses were quite firm and hard to sleep on for several nights when your older like us. Majority of my group is 60 and older. Jacuzzi was smaller than I thought. Only 2 of us used it. Too many chemicals in it and they experienced eye irritation. So just advice only proper treatment and not too much. Only a few of us used the pool. Found it to be very cold. However, our visit was the first two weeks of September, so no judgement here. The ones that used it liked it.Kitchen was so equipped and made cooking at the house convenient. There is a slight ant issue. We found for most of visit. But to be expected with a cupboard wth food and doors open. The screen system for the door could be improved to either a slide door system from the pull down screens. Great House tho

What a terrible mistake booking this house. We booked this accommodation for 3 nights, and every single communication with Joao was a nightmare. Lots of “existing” utilities did not exist or were not functioning - stove was not working, poor quality of cooking pans, limited toilet paper, no spare towels, cheap multipurpose shampoo and shower gel (1-2 bottles for 5 bedrooms), mosquito nets are totally broken, jacuzzi was super dirty, we didn’t even dare to try. Cherry on top - we discovered multiple ants and cockroaches during the stay, which was extremely unpleasant and made us question overall house maintainance. These issues were clearly ignored by Joao, as we tried to communicate with the host multiple times via WhatsApp and the host ignored the messages in a very rude ‘ghosting’ manner instead of peacefully resolving addressed above issues.

Amazing home and stay.

When we found this home, we thought "this might be to go to be true." After speaking with Joao and asking some questions we booked his home for 5 days. Everything was wonderful. The upstairs is open concept which made 7 adults and 6 children (ranging from 16 to 1 years old not feel cramped. The pool is on the same level, so it made for watching the children fantastic! The kitchen is stocked with pots/pans for cooking, coffee maker, toaster, and utensils. There were board games for the kids, but they mostly enjoyed the pool. There is 1 bedroom upstairs and the remaining bedrooms were downstairs. Again, lots of space! There is a washer but no dryer. We didn't mind, we enjoyed hanging our clothes outside to dry. The baby gate at the top of the stairs as well as the bottom of the stairs is extremely helpful and put my mind at ease with a running 1 year old. The few times we reached out to Joao, he was quick to reply. He provided us some great recommendations on places to visit during our stay as well. We would love to stay here again next time were in Sao Miguel! :)
