We visited the cabin for our daughter's birthday and truly enjoyed every minute. The cabin and property were very clean, had everything we needed and offered the perfect place to relax and celebrate this special day for our family. The owners are responsive, understanding and extremely kind and highly recommend this property in you are staying in the area.
Great setup with the cabin+Airstream arrangement. Our hosts had thought of everything… enjoyed the fire pit and s’mores, played games on the porch, and slept wonderfully in the very comfortable sleeping areas.
Would recommend to anyone.
A fun way to experience luxury tiny house living for a short time. The roofed deck was appreciated on nights when it rained--we could still enjoy the outdoors and a fire. We are already planning our next trip!
Loved the quiet vibe of the property. Loved the sounds of the spring and the beautiful setting. House met our needs. Only one concern was there was no wifi in the Airstream which was difficult for the girls.
This cabin is perfect for a long weekend getaway. We loved having a fire every night in the wood burning stove! Great distance from downtown while still feeling secluded.
A beautiful little cabin a short drive from downtown Asheville. We loved coming back to the cabin each day in between good eating, drinking, and hiking. The hot tub and creek running by the cabin are a relaxation haven. Highly recommend.
Everything was exactly as listed - this was a great little cabin about 10-15 minutes from Asheville. Unfortunately it rained almost the whole trip but the covered porch and fire were great for some downtime.
Such a peaceful stay at the Modcabin! We stayed 2 nights and I'd recommend longer to allow time for trips into downtown Asheville, exploring local hikes, and relaxing time at the cabin. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning with my coffee listening to the creek and birds. Also having a washer/dryer was extremely convenient since this was one stop on a roadrip for us. Would 100% recommend and return!
Had a wonderful time at ModCabins! Mae was absolutely wonderful to work with and had a great time. Really enjoyed having a fire and listening to creek in the background. Very tranquil!!! Can't wait to visit again!
Really cute getaway close to Asheville hiking and downtown.
Really well executed cabins and accommodations. While there are two retrears and looks like a third is in the works. They are situated such that while in your cabin or enjoying the outdoor space you feel very much secluded. The litttle creek adds a welcome ambience. You could spend days of your life on that porch next to that fireplace and not miss a thing. Interior has modern amenities. Shower is nice. Water pressure is good. The bed is comfortable. The space is a really nice mix of modern rustic touches. Theyve made a good effort to maximize each square foot. The hot tub was also nice. Would stay again.
This was the perfect location for our recent trip to Asheville. The cabin is just the right mix of wooded privacy while only being a short 15-20min drive to downtown. There were plenty of hiking trails located close to the property which we took full advantage of. We also enjoyed the clean hot tub and deck fireplace on the chilly evenings. On top of all of this, the cabin is dog friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as your Asheville base-camp!
We could only squeeze in an overnight stay at this adorably modern cabin but it was enough time to enjoy all of the amenities they offer - the hot tub, outdoor fire place, cozy robes and a hot shower in the surprisingly large shower. The creek was a nice, soothing surprise. We'd definitely stay here again and have already shared pictures and face-bragged about our stay to friends. There is a sister property within a stones throw of this cabin. May also check out that one. The cabin is far enough away from Asheville to feel like you're properly in the mountains but close enough to keep from worrying about bar bathroom wait/distance to home debate at the end of the night.
What a perfect little mountain cabin. Perfect size for two people and LOVE that it’s dog-friendly. Our two doghters had a blast coming on vacation with us. The fireplace and hot tub are to die for. Everything was so clean and the attention to detail was noticeable. The coffee and s’more kits were so nice! The bed was SOOOO comfortable. Wish I had taken a minute to look up the brand of the mattress so I can go buy for home! Close to downtown Asheville and SUPER close to the blue ridge parkway and tons of hiking! Thanks again for the wonderful mountain getaway!
What a treat to stay at this place. Rustic and mod, such a great blend. Loved the special touches, fireplace and hot tub. So tastefully decorated and comfy. Owner is very responsive during whole process. Highly recommend, it does not disappoint!
This cabin was a perfect home base for my wife’s and my honeymoon getaway to Asheville! The convenient location made it easy to get to town to visit breweries and such, yet it felt secluded and nestled among the mountains. The cabin itself met all of our needs, and we especially enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and creek right outside the door. Mae was an excellent host, and we will definitely be recommending her cabins to our friends and family!
We thought about going camping but then came across this cute cabin and absolutely loved it. A great location to everything. We enjoyed the patio and all the peacefulness the surrounding area had to offer.
My husband and I spent a long weekend in Asheville at this property. It was the PERFECT mix of outdoor time and close enough to all of the shopping and dining that Asheville has to offer.
We had a great four day weekend. The cabin was everything we hoped it to be. We spent the most time on the great porch. Loved the fireplace. The cabin was a short trip to downtown. Can’t wait to come back.

Modcabins is a family owned business. We designed and built rustic modern micro houses just 7 miles from downtown Asheville. We are passionate about the tiny house movement, a cultural shift to live a more self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and financially secure life. We love hosting visitors at the cabins in a beautiful mountain setting. We recognize that on average, our guests have only a few weeks of vacation time each year. Therefore we spoil our guests with a relaxing and luxurious experience that allows them to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and feel restored and when returning home.
Why they chose this property
I am an Appalachian native, and love being a part of our mountain community. We chose this property because it is located conveniently only 7 miles to downtown Asheville, 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 1 mile from dozens of hiking trails in the Pisgah national Forest. The property also borders the beautiful Shope Creek, with mountain and forest views.
