About this property

Moroccan Inspired Cottage

Permitted Homestay:
Artist owned and designed, two story cottage sanctuary. One bedroom, w/ bathroom and a kitchen. Single bed/reading loft is above kitchen area. In a quiet neighborhood, cottage is within walking distance of Haywood Road's Owl Bakery, The Admiral, Asian and pizza restaurants, a five minute walk to Carrier Park that runs along the French Broad River and two miles from downtown. River Arts district is a 5 minute drive or 30minute walk. Cottage captures elements of Mediterranean and France. One of a kind and built 4 years ago, this space is a true retreat while visiting Asheville.

Kitchen has coffee maker, french press, coffee and creamer. The cottage has air conditioning and heating. The bedroom with a queen size bed is upstairs along with a bathroom and shower. A sinhke bed is downstairs above kitchen table. Off street parking is possible if that is a preference. I leave coffee and creamer for each guest.

Two cats named Rue and Ginko may wander around your entrance looking for an ear scratch.

Awesome Asheville Hideaway
Proximity to Biltmore and downtown Asheville is ideal. Really cozy little spot with some cats to occasionally keep you company outside. Camille is a great host. Great communication, accommodations and property.

Enchanting Retreat in the Heart of West Asheville
We pulled into the level white gravel driveway(no small thing in Asheville) amidst a lovely garden and staring at a fairytale cottage that's part of a colorful purpose built artist complex. Wow! The copper conical cap over the door and ceramic inlays the the exterior walls provided hints of the delights to come. Texture and color and thoughtful touches are everywhere....carved wood, colorful and textured textiles, beautiful tiles, clever knobs. Scented and soothing body products. A practical and attractive kitchen and bathroom. The primary bed with soft linen sheets underneath a huge window with colorful carved interior shutters providing a glorious view of the sky. Clever use of interior windows. Easily controlled Mitsubishi AC/Heat units. Plenty of nice hangers for clothes as well as a lovely chest of drawers. Extra bedding covers if needed. At night the drive and walkway are lit by solar lights making the location easy to find at night. I also greatly appreciated having half-n-half in the fridge when we arrived along with coffee, spices, etc if desired. The outdoor fire pit and tub are beautiful too! The location is in the heart of hip West Ashevile and adjacent to the French Broad River and the River Arts District, but also very close to downtown Asheville too. Camille is an excellent host and we highly recommend her cottage as the perfect retreat/romantic getaway. Would happily stay again!

Camille is a fantastic host, and this was the coziest place we have ever stayed. A Hidden Gem of Tranquility
Our stay at this VRBO was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by its charming curb appeal. The seamless check-in process, facilitated by a convenient code, set the tone for a stress-free getaway. Stepping inside, we were greeted by subtle touches that exuded warmth and hospitality. The artistic flair woven throughout the décor was evident in every corner. From intricately carved support posts to the rustic charm of reclaimed wood, every element seemed thoughtfully chosen and expertly placed. The attention to detail was impeccable, with artistic shutters and well-appointed furniture enhancing the comfort of the space. It was clear that this retreat was crafted with care and creativity, reflecting the work of a true artist. Moreover, the thoughtful amenities provided added an extra layer of luxury to our stay. From a selection of lotions to a variety of teas, each item felt intentionally chosen to enhance our experience. Overall, our time here was simply wonderful, and we would eagerly return for another stay. Spring time west Asheville
Oasis in west Asheville. House brought so much creative energy and calmness to our travels. It’s far enough away to feel like you’re in a neighborhood but close enough we could easily get and walk to the river and west Asheville. Has an easy bus route near by too. Many ways to make a cup of coffee which we loved. Romantic accommodation. Did yoga every morning. Wine outside by the fire pit in afternoon. Fun little radio. Napped in the sleeping loft. Loved our stay.

I am a mother, artist, and teacher. I enjoy hosting guests from other places. Asheville is a culturally rich community and city. When I am not making art, I paddle board and enjoy the outdoors. I like to share what I have enjoyed for the past 20 years about this area with my visitors if they are curious.

Why they chose this property

This property is one of a kind- a three dimensional piece of art. The location is walking distance to Owl Bakery, The Urban Orchard Cider house, The Walk and my favorite evening spot - The Admiral. It is a located blocks from Haywood rd in West Asheville and Carrier Park. 10 minutes to downtown (driving)

What makes this property unique

The walls are clay plaster. The cottage and location are very quiet. The property has a colorful and relaxing feel. The main house has been featured in a local magazine for it's artful appeal both inside and out.
