Fantastic Birthday Weekend
We stayed at Howells Mere for a birthday weekend with friends. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend, the weather, the property and the company were all fantastic. The house was lovely and spacious, well equipped and had fantastic views over the lake to watch the sunset. Orion holidays were fantastic throughout the entire process.

Wonderful house for a Christmas gathering
We had an amazing few days for our Christmas celebrations. The house had everything we needed and more. The beds are super comfortable & there were plenty of seats for everyone. The layout and situation of the house is so wonderful & peaceful. The bbq was a great addition for our cooked breakfasts. It was idyllic. We would love to go back.

Great stay at Howells Mere
The house was well presented and comfortable. The unimpeded view over the lake, complete with resident heron and other wildlife added to the charm of the location.
Lovely stay and beautiful location. Great size house and all amenities included. Only slight issue was the facilities in terms of availability to use the pool. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

House and location are perfect for a family get together. Beautifully furnished and well equipped. The on-site pool and spa facilities are top notch. The Balihoo restaurant is fabulous. The lake activities were great fun.

Fantastic!!!
We have been to the Lower mill estate before and have absolutely loved it every time. This property is a great size, great finish comfortable beds and the area where it’s located has absolutely brilliant facilities m, it is well worth having a property in Lower Mill.

A great stay!
This was a multigenerational family get together to celebrate a big birthday. We were aged from 10 weeks to 77 years old! We all enjoyed this most comfortable house, which was probably the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Comfort and cleanliness were exceptional and the contact before and after from Orion was superb. We were familiar with the location but again enjoyed walks, swimming and cycling. Views of the lake from the house were great and we enjoyed our resident cuckoo and muntjac deer. A relaxing 5 nights and generally good weather added to our enjoyment . I would be more than happy to visit this property again.

A great time was had by all
The house was exactly like the photos, very clean and very spacious. Everything you could possible want was provided and the area the house is in was very quiet. We had the use of the Spa which was great and we were very lucky to find the two pools were empty most of the time. If you want any treatments at the Spa it’s best to book before you go as they are very busy. We had a meal at the Ballyhoo Restaurant and it was lovely and reasonably priced again it’s best to book before you go.
This house is perfect for families or large groups and we enjoyed our time there so much we will be returning next year.

Family Vacation
Well where can I begin, this place is amazing. Everything you need is there. Property was so clean when we arrived. Lovely de king area to sunbathe on and you dont loose the sun until about 7.30 pm. Such a lovely decorated property.
Excellent location, views and Spa. Pools and spa was so clean including the outdoor pool, which is right by the Tennis Courts and the area where you can hire equipment. This pool you don't have to pre-book. Loads of activities too keep you busy. Also you can drive out to other places, Lakes & Restaurants and its only about 10 minutes drive to the Beach Country Park, which is worth a visit, lots to do.
All the staff on site were amazing and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. If you have a Canoe or Kayak definitely worth taking so much opportunity.
We will definitely return all the family enjoyed the week.

Family holiday
We had a wonderful time at the house which was very spacious with a very well equipped kitchen.
Little disappointed about the small amount of wood for the fire.
We had problems finding the house, the directions were not clear and we had to go through a gate which needed a code.
My son travelled later and could not see any signs to the house. The arrow said Orchid???
The dishwasher didn't wash well until we cleaned the filter. I feel that should be checked by the cleaners.
If those issues could be addressed it would be an excellent place to stay and we are definitely hoping to return soon

The Estate is quite difficult to find your way around which is why we send a detailed PDF map with a line running all the way from the main gate to the front door of the property. We do also include details of the additional gate and code in the arrival instructions, however, I am sorry if you didn’t see that. With regards to the dishwasher, this was clearly missed for which I apologise and will remind the house keeper that this should be checked every let. We do also try and make it clear that we only leave one bag of logs but do also give you the option to purchase more to be delivered to the property for your arrival. I am really pleased that you, overall, enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon. Please remember that if you do book again direct, you will be entitled to a retuning guest discount.
