Quick stay in the South

La Casita was a great place for my wife and I to explore the Pitons and other areas in the southern part of the island from. Communication with Philomena was fantastic and her recommendation to have dinner at Zabrikos was spot on! We enjoyed a beautiful sunset just a little ways down the road from the front door as well!

Neat little place in the St Lucia countryside

We were warmly welcomed by Philo and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this guesthouse. The view from the back porch is incredible! This house is about a 20-30 minute drive from other resorts and outdoorsy activities, and about 2 hours south of the more bustling north end of the island. We had a great time!

Beautiful view! Very peaceful setting with a kind, helpful and responsive property manager. Close driving distance to a grocery store but did not find a lot of dining options nearby.

St lucia vaca

Property is nice with AC. Spectacular views from the back and you can see one of fhe Pitons from the front but we honetsly sat in the bavk porch more. Its a close t minute walk to our favorite beach on the island. Philo is quick to respind and amazing. You just need to figure out food as there are not really restaurants there and if there are they close close vedy early .

Our Stay on St. Lucia

It was a neat place with a nice deck with a great view. Nice little kitchen and refrigerator. Easy to travel to and from the place once we got to know the roads. Relaxing - quiet. The husband of the couple that manage the place showed us how to pick peanut plants on his farm which was really fun.

Perfect getaway by the sea

My partner and I stayed nearly two weeks here and lived every minute. The host, Philomena took very good care of us and exceeded expectations including cooking our fish we bought from the market. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the beach. The people are kind and helpful. We will be coming back. Thanks for making our stay both special and memorable!

Comfortable Home

We only stayed here one night, but it was a fantastic night! The property is an adorable bungalow with everything we needed for the night. We wished that we had longer to enjoy this beautiful home! Philomena met us at the door, showed us around (including a back porch with a stunning view), and brought us some local plums. They were delicious!

A Retreat to Remember…Always!!!

This bungalow in the countryside of the island was nothing short of perfect! Ms. Philomena and family, were my family away from home. The intent of this trip was to regroup and regather and the company I had, the scenic beauty, the best water, all provided an environment to be unmatched. It was so peaceful, and had all of the necessities to make it a very pleasant stay. The friendly people of the community made me feel right at home and I will definitely be planning another trip to this extraordinary escape.

This property is located in a rural, quaint location and has whimsical "work from anywhere" character. It is a great hideaway bungalow in a peaceful, loving community that offers relaxing, introspective reflection and five-star hospitality. Between Philomena, the personal taxi service provided by her son Germaine and an extended cast of welcoming family and friends, I left feeling nothing less than gratitude. It was a very local feel which is what I was looking for. Giselle sent communications on how to enter and it all went smoothly.A few things to be aware of as you book this. The toilet struggles to flush and even after adjusting the valve I ended up putting paper in the waste bin as it was a continual will it/won’t it experience.This area is secluded and although I appreciated that in many ways I was uncomfortable with the ability to see through the curtains/voile and Giselle’s family member kindly went to the trouble of replacing 2 sets of the 3. This helped but I didn’t feel comfortable and relaxed as the curtain that scallops the kitchen window has a direct view to the bed in which I slept. I appreciate the area is safe but it did bother me as a single traveler. There are signs of needing a refresh, the shower cubicle (the door doesn’t shut as it should). The left tap over the basin in the bathroom doesn’t work at all and is held in by cement. The kitchen was not well equipped, I needed a tin opener and scissors and although there were 2 knives, neither were sharp enough to slice an onion. Overall it was an okay base, the people and the views are what make this a good option. It is a good place to explore all the south/Soufriere areas. All within 1 hour drive. I think if you go into it knowing it’s a bit 80s/90s then you will be aware of what to expect.

Perfect home with perfect views!

I couldn't have picked a better home to rest my head for my 10 nights alone in St Lucia! Philomena is a gem and can say she has become like family to me. The AC in the house worked great! Views from back porch are stunning: farm, valley & ocean plus St Vincent on a clear day! And in the front, centerview of the Pitons!! Village is a short walk away and they have the freshest fish. Sabwisha beach is a short walk away and was a quiet oasis!!! Black sand magic. It is def rural and remote so don't expect major touristy vibes in Choiseul- just the friendliest locals and ice cold beers. Philomena was able to pick me up and drop me off at the airport- huge help and not expensive! The house also has mango trees, plum trees, pineapple was growing, bitter orange, papaya, potatoes, peanuts and more!!! Expect lizards and random bugs as it is the country :) Coffee machine was perfect, stove and oven worked great for cooking. Small fridge had some beers, juice, water and wine when I arrived :) Very comfortable bed and the wifi was super strong. The water pressure in shower was awesome! Friendly neighbors and lots of beauty all around. I will be staying here every time I visit- book your stay !!!!!

Thilo our host was absolutely incredible, showed us the beautiful beach a few minute walk, we had it to ourselves majority of time, mangos and tomatoes from there organic garden, a ride to the village for nessessities, an invitation to a 1800's church for a wonderful musucal mass. My sister and I have climbed the world famous UNESCO pitons on multiple occasions. We enjoy hikes,tours , but also appreciate the quiet time away from everything.We treat everyone like family and would love you to , for a short time, enjoy our little piece of paradise with us.

We are located within walking distance of multiple beaches . We are also located about 15-20 minutes from the world's only drive in volcano ,the UNESCO famous twin peak pitons and many other national landmarks.

What makes this property unique

What made me fall in love with this little octagon studio bungalow- It's private, it's all yours for a few days, with a front and back porch, Netflix :), Air conditioning , walking distance away from a peaceful sit down on the beach (to enjoy a good book), the clear starry skies at night, the sounds of the birds in the morning, everyone saying hello as you walk down the family road, the gentle breeze, availability of fresh home grown fruits /vegetables, a great's night's sleep. I wish I could stay there forever.
