Islip Mill House - What a place.
The location was outstanding and the house was quirky, spacious and perfect for our stay. Everything was provided and the host was friendly and checked on us. Fantastic garden and grounds with lots of wildlife and space for grandchildren to play. Quiet and relaxing. Would love to visit again.

Went for a family Christmas in the UK from The Netherlands.
It was ideal for this, great, peaceful location with an easy walk into the nearby town to get our Christmas provisions. The kitchen was equipped well enough to produce a great Christmas dinner. Julian was a great host who couldn’t do enough for us, which included putting up a Christmas tree for us. With the extra highlight of us spotting a kingfisher on the other side of the river we really enjoyed our Christmas in the UK!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming house.
Despite the water left after the recent flooding, it didn’t take away from the beauty and charm of the place. The house itself is a gem, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The generous welcome gift, including cava, fruits, and a well-stocked fridge, was a lovely touch. Julian is an excellent host, attentive and thoughtful. We hope the water recedes soon and the place returns to its full beauty. We would love to return in the future!
Great house lovely owner - think there should be more info on the bathroom . En suite bathroom - difficult stairs and v small bath but otherwise a great house. Outside furniture and barb q could have an upgrade ,

We stayed at the mill for family birthday.
Our grandparents lived in and worked the mill u til the early 1960s so was a nostalgic trip for us. Host was very welcoming and shared his stories and gave us a tour of his property too. We had a gathering in the evening there is everything you need to entertain. Was warm and quirmy decor.
All good nothing negative!

Absolutely beautiful in stunning surroundings
Upon arrival we felt at home. The host kindly left bread, eggs, bacon, fruit and non alcoholic fizz (thank you very much!). The house is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need. It was so peaceful sitting on the patio by the water in the morning with a cup of coffee. Fantastic walks close by around the countryside and lakes. The local pub was lovely and within walking distance (20-30 mins) offering a variety of meals. None of us wanted to leave. Would highly recommend.

A super stay
We loved the location of this waterside house. So superbly quiet and private with plenty of outdoor and indoor social spaces.
We'd have loved a bigger fridge as we were a group of 8 and had planned to eat in over our stay. That needs quite a lot of fridge space! A downstairs loo would have been great though we recognise that with the internal layout this was not easy to provide.

Really lovely period property in a lovely setting, great for a short family stay.
An absolutely fantastic location and a really historical property. Lots of creaky and wonky floorboards! Lovely furniture throughout. I would not class the beds as large king size, one was but the other three were doubles! Could have done with the hairs being removed from plug holes upstairs. Well equipped kitchen, two living rooms, two dining areas. Stock in the kitchen so able to wash up, used the dishwasher which was helpful. Hoovered through when leaving as lots of leaves everywhere, also was scared of extra charge :-( Really lovely property, would recommend. Don't look for spiders! Plenty of parking for numerous cars.
