About this property

Spacious Apartment in Rock, Private Parking

Summary:

This lovely light and spacious apartment for 10 is tucked away in a prestigious position and boasts beautiful views of the Camel Estuary. Located in the heart of this highly sought after village, you are only a few minutes walk away from award winning restaurants and pubs; stunning unspoilt beaches and fantastic local shops. When you’re back home, sit back and relax in the sunny garden or hunker down in front of the fire when a storm rolls in. One well-behaved dog welcome with a fee of £20.

The Space:

A family home for 3 generations, No.1 St. Enodoc spans across the entire ground floor of a detached house. From the modern, light kitchen to the two spacious lounges and a dining room, you’ll find plenty of space to spread out and relax, enjoying sea views from almost all rooms, the south facing garden and patio.

Each of the four bedrooms has its own feel. The master boasts lofted ceilings with skylights, a kingsize bed, as well as its own ensuite with a walk-in shower. Two twin bedrooms have their own basins, as well as fantastic views of the estuary. Whilst a further bunk room can cater up to two adults/teens and two under 7’s (due to a weight restriction on one of the bunks). An additional family bathroom, with a bath and shower, is shared by all. Outside, the garden invites you to explore its hidden nooks. Enjoy slow afternoons reading on the bench, or tucking into alfresco suppers from the comfort of the outdoor dining table. Its close proximity to Rock’s best amenities, and parking for two vehicles, make this a wonderful home away from home in coastal Cornwall.

Well-behaved dogs will enjoy pottering around in the garden, however, please note that it is not fully fenced so some may need to be kept on a lead. Our welcoming of a dog is on the condition they are kept off sofas & beds, cleaned up after and not left in the property unattended. There is an additional fee of £20.

Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the whole apartment.

The Neighborhood:

No.1 St Enodoc House is located in a quiet spot overlooking the Camel Estuary, just a few minutes walk to the centre of Rock - one of Cornwall’s most sought after villages. The village has so much to offer: superb restaurants and pubs with fabulous sea views, as well as shops full of fine wines and local cheeses. Pick up freshly-baked bread or a famous Cornish pasty before taking a stroll to the beautiful Rock beach, which stretches around a mile at low tide. Alternatively, order home cooked food, meat or fish from the fantastic family run deli, butcher and fishmonger. As if that weren't enough, the apartment is just a 5 minute walk to the renowned St Enodoc Golf Club, with its two 18 hole courses. A little further up the coast, you’ll find Daymer Bay, another family and dog-friendly beach with perfect swimming conditions and of course, the renowned surf beach at Polzeath.

There is so much to explore in this beautiful corner of the county. Hop on the ferry from Rock and head across to Padstow for the day - this iconic fishing village is bustling with independent shops and restaurants (Rick Stein’s to name a few). Plus, the water taxi will take you home after dark so you can certainly wash down a local ale or two! A little further out of Padstow is the Prawn on the Farm - an unmissable dining experience for all those fish lovers. Whilst next door to the apartment is the renowned St Enodoc Hotel, where you can enjoy delicious suppers as well as afternoon tea on the lawn. To top it all off, the nearby Camel Valley vineyard offers a chance for wine tasting and tours; and the local award winning pub The Mariners, is the perfect spot for a pint of the local Rock ale, Doom Bar and food by Paul Ainsworth.

Activities are in abundance in this area of Cornwall and it is a real haven for having fun on the water! Enjoy surf lessons at Polzeath Beach, book a wakeboard, water ski or paddle board with the Camel Ski School, located in Rock, or experience the local wildlife on an exhilarating boat tour with Wavehunters. There are opportunities to learn to sail too, with the Rock Sailing School or if adrenaline is your thing, why not try some coasteering with one of the local adventure companies? Avid walkers can take off on scenic coastal walks from the front door, picking up the South West Coastal Path in either direction. Plus, there’s lots of cycling to be enjoyed along the Camel Trail - an 18-mile-long disused railway line running from Padstow to Bodmin. More of our local tips can be found in the Guest Guide, which you will receive upon booking.

Getting Around:

Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, we would recommend bringing a vehicle for your stay. There is private parking for 2 vehicles on the driveway. That said, the apartment is brilliantly located to enjoy all of Rock's best amenities on foot: the shops, restaurants and stunning dog friendly beaches are all a short walk away.

Other Things to Note:

PLEASE NOTE: Our neighbours at the St Enodoc Hotel are undergoing renovations from October 2025 until June 2026. Working hours are generally 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays and Saturday mornings, although this may vary depending on the specific tasks being completed.

- Due to the scale of the work at the St Enodoc Hotel, you may experience some disruption. This could include increased daytime noise, dust on vehicles, temporary access restrictions, or occasionally being blocked in during deliveries, as we share the driveway with the site. It is a busy building site, and some inconvenience is unfortunately unavoidable during this period.

- Our discounted rate reflects the potential inconvenience this may cause, and we are sorry for any disruption experienced.

- We have a good relationship with the site managers, who are very friendly and are willing to help if any issues arise. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

The apartment has 4 bedrooms with 9 beds and can sleep up to 10 guests. However, please note, the white bunk bed on the right in the bunk room is ONLY suitable for children due to a weight restriction. Therefore, the apartment can only sleep a maximum of 8 adults and 2 children under 7 years old.

The BBQ is available for use from April to October.

One dog is welcome on the condition he/she is kept off sofas & beds, cleaned up after and not left in the property unattended. There is an additional pet fee of £20. Please note, the garden is not fully enclosed.

Quiet and comfortable in an idyllic setting

As soon as we stepped into this spacious apartment, we felt like we were on holiday at home. All beds were super comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were updated and lovely. The host was very responsive and helpful and assisted us within hours when we blew a fuse in the kitchen. We hope to stay at this property again the next time we are lucky enough to visit Cornwall.

Wonderful birthday break

Two of us and our Labrador stayed for 10 nights and struck it lucky with the weather. The view from the windows and garden is amazing. The apartment is very well kitted out with everything you need and perfectly positioned for a visit to Padstow. The neighbours behind are noisy and can be inconsiderate, they had a visitor park in the private parking spot on our arrival day but as we spent much time out and about it wasn't too much of an issue. Only two things to mention that we found surprising. First is that an elderly gentleman pitched up on our first night on the pretence of using a clip on the bbq cover to keep it in place, despite the cover having strong elasticated fastenings and the bbq was brand new. He said it was his children's property but we did feel like we were being 'checked out'. He also pitched up randomly on the weekend to cut the grass and was stood staring in through one of the windows when we arrived back from a dog walk. Secondly, the garden furniture has a nice table but poor quality chairs and no parasol. Overall though we highly recommend this rental.
