Antique villa with annexes, subdivided into spacious apartment all different from each other. Situated in the hill approximately 1000 ft above sea level. Large walled garden with furniture, parking, swimming pool (12x6 metri Aprox.) Swimming pool for children, coin washing machine, bowls, ping-pong, games for children, barbecue, and beautiful views over the countryside and of the sea.
The two-rooms apartments, which can sleep up to four people, consist of a living-room with a kitchen corner and a double sofa-bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom.
Walking through the large gardens or sunbathing in the sun-lounge next to the two swimming-pools, guests can admire the magnificent views over olive groves and vineyards as far as the sea. Villa Elena is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in a family atmosphere, with beautiful scenery, fine cuisine, sport and culture, and traditional local events. Villa Elena is ideal for children, who can spend their time in the open air, playing in the gardens or in their own pool. There are lot of games around the gardens, including table tennis, boules, swings, a slide, and table football, as well as the sports area for tennis, five-a-side football, basketball and volleyball, adjacent the residenc. Cavallino Matto and Aqua Park .
It is ideally situated for visits to places of interest around Tuscany: Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Massa Marittima, Bolgheri and the famous “DOC wine area” (Sassicaia, Ornellaia), the Island of Elba, national parks and spas.

Sport: The local area offers a whole range of opportunities for sports enthusiasts: from water sports (swimming, sailing, windsurf) to running (in the beautiful pinewoods of Cecina Mare, in the surrounding woods or on the quiet country roads) and cycling. The Etruscan Coast is an ideal training terrain for cyclists, who can take advantage of the alternation of flat stretches and hills (racing bikes) or try the mountain bike routes in the woods: the signposted routes in the “Macchie della Magona” Park, 7 miles from Villa Elena, are particularly recommended. The nearest golf courses are in Tirrenia (30 miles) and Punta Ala (45 miles). There are stables just over a mile away. At Villa Elena guests can play tennis, five-a-side football, basketball and volleyball adjacent the residence (on the multi-purpose pitch), table football, table tennis (two tables) and boules

Lovely Tuskany holiday in a lively italian village

The Villa Elena is a beautiful house with a well kept beautiful park. Our apartement was as described and met all our expectations. Pool, parking and a lot of places to sit in sunshine or shade. The Sforzinis are very helpful and accomodating and couldn't care more for their guests. Big plus was the village of Guardistallo with restaurants, bars, mini-market -no need really to start the car in the evenings for a good meal! Absolutely recommended! Thank you, Ladies!

Schöne Ferienwohnung

Der Blick vom Anwesen, der Pool und der Garten sind sehr schön. Die Wohnung ist sauber und klimatisiert und hat das was man für den Urlaub braucht auch wenn sie zugleich für 4 Personen klein ist.

Wunderbare Oase in idyllischer Lage

Erst einmal - wer es luxuriös, penibel und steril mag ist hier komplett falsch. Wer es schätzt in einer internationalen, herzlichen, offenen und gemütlichen Umgebung seine Zeit zu verbringen ist hier genau richtig. Die Besitzer sind total nett und freundlich. Auf dem Gelände gibt es viele gemütliche Plätze zu sitzen und dr Blick Richtung mehr ist traumhaft. Die Wohnung in welcher wir untergebracht waren war mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Guardistallo ist ein malerischer Ort. Unbedingt die kleine Bäckerei und den kleinen Supermarkt nutzen. Nette und herzliche Menschen helfen einem gerne. Vor Ort waren wir nur im Ristorante Pizzeria Sant' Agata. Dafür aber dreimal. Liebe auf den ersten Blick :-). Die anderen Restaurants sollen aber auch sehr gut sein.

Tolles Ambiente, tolle Lage, alles super

Wir waren mit unseren 3 Kindern und unserem Hund in einer der Wohnungen(2 Zimmer + Bad) im Haupthaus. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden, auch wenn wir uns das nächste Mal etwas mehr Platz wünschen würden und deshalb ein größeres Apartment buchen würden. +++ Serena ist sehr zuvorkommend und überaus nett. Die Lage ist toll, die Aussicht von unserem Fenster war atemberaubend! Auf dem ganzen Gelände gibt es kleine gemütliche Ecken, wo man es sich abends gemütlich machen kann. Man sitzt unter herrlichen Lorbeerbäumen. Auch Grillmöglichkeiten gibt es viele. Für die Kids gibt es ausreichend Spielmöglichkeiten. Der Ortskern von Guardistallo ist zu Fuß in 2 Min zu erreichen, wo abends oft etwas geboten ist. Livemusik, Markt etc. Außerdem gibt es Restaurants mit tollem Ambiente. Es gibt außerdem auch eine Apotheke, einige kleine Lädchen, wo man alles Nötige bekommt. Die Bäckerei ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Danke für einen tollen Urlaub...

Hat alles toll gepasst. Tolle alte Villa , fein mit Kleinkindern da ein kleiner Pool auch dabei ist und der Zugang zu diesem aber abends zugesperrt wird so dass man die Kinder rumlaufen lassen kann am Gelände. Die Besitzerin ist extrem freundlich.

Un posto veramente romantico e rilassante.

Siamo stati a Villa Elena in due persone e l'appartamento (di tipo A) corrispondeva perfettamente alla descrizione: molto spazioso, ottimo per due, dotato di tutto quello che serve, pulito e in buonissimo stato. Il contorno è perfetto, immerso nel verde e curatissimo. Guardistallo è perfetta come punto di partenza per escursioni di ogni tipo e Serena è una presenza preziosa per la disponibilità e i consigli. Villa Elena idéale pour visiter la Toscane

Nous venons de passer 15 jours à Villa Elena. Endroit superbe. L'accueil de la Famille Sforzini est chaleureux et très sympathique. 15 jours où la chaleur et le soleil ont régné avec une maison où nous nous sentions comme à la maison. Un parc magnifique, un appartement spacieux et très propre ont fait de ces vacances un repos total. Idéal pour les visites : Volterra, Sienne, San Gimignano, Pise, Lucca...

Absolutely fantastic!

I just say - we never wanted to leave this place! In the apartment we had all we needed and it was perfect, nice and clean. Best of all was the garden, even better then the pictures we had seen. A big, so beautiful garden and the children just loved it as much as we did! Fantastic playgrounds and we could sit by the barbeques and eat for a long time while they were playing and discovering all paths. A great pool, a cosy town, well located (beaches, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Florence...), very friendly and helpfull owners - Everything was great! We will come back and we will defintely recommend this to everyone!

Wunderbarer Urlaub

In dem kleinen Ort Guardistallo ist diese wunderschöne alte Villa mit schönen Gästehäusern. Die Anlage bietet alles was man sich zum Zeitvertreib wünschen kann: Grillgelegenheiten, schöne Sitzplätze, Pool, Tischtennis, Kicker, Boule...einen schönen und gepflegten Spielplatz für die Kleinen. Und Aussicht aufs Meer und unzählige Olivenhaine. Die Betreiber sind sehr zuvorkommend und lesen einem die Wünsche von den Augen ab. Zudem kann man alle Absprachen auch auf Deutsch treffen, was sehr hilfreich ist. Allgemein sehr zu empfehlen, fernab vom Trubel der Massen.

Very Nice holiday

Appartamento accogliente in stile con la villa, al primo piano vicino al museo. Dalle grandi finestre entrava il sole caldo e la sera potevamo ammirare il tramonto sul mare. I bambini hanno giocato nel parco insieme ad altri clienti.. abbiamo fatto varie volte il barbecue e abbiamo provato vari ristoranti del luogo. Ottimo cibo e servizio!! L appartamento era pulito e lo staff veramente molto gentile e pronto ad aiutarci e consigliarti. Torneremo il prossimo anno!!

Very nice base for exploring Tuscany

This was a great location for exploring some of Tuscany - Pisa, Voltera, Sienna were all in driving distance for a day out although Florence and Chiantishire would be a step further than a day trip. Great beaches near by although the pool and area is good. The 1 bed apartment was great for 2 adults and I would recommend a friend to stay here. The shower was good and hot although the screen was broken. Plenty of towels and we asked for an extra set of sheets. The hairdryer is one of the wall mounted jobs. They provided cleaning materials and washing up liquid. The hostess is truly charming and brings a warm Italian ambiance to all things. You need a car unless you just want to make use of the pool, table tennis and barbeques and eat out locally in Guardistallo.

Prima für einen schönen Familienurlaub

Bei der Auswahl der Ferienwohnung haben uns die Beschreibung und die Fotos zur Villa Elena überzeugt. Und siehe da, vor Ort war dann auch alles so wie dargestellt - die Fotos übertreiben nicht :-) Es ist eine herrliche alte Villa in herrschaftlichem Stil mit hohen Decken und großen Räumen. Unsere Ferienwohnung bot viel Platz und wir hatten auch einen kleinen Terassenplatz davor. Der Garten und die Anlagen (Kinderspielplatz, Pool, Boccia-Bahn, Tischkicker...) sind gepflegt und haben uns allen viel Spaß bereitet. Auch zum Meer ist es nicht weit. Auch wenn es etwas weiter ist als Cecina, sind wir immer nach Marina Di Bibbona gefahren, dort ist der Strand viel schöner (keine Steine). Die Atmosphäre auf der Anlage war sehr angenehm und insbesondere war die Chefin vor Ort ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie spricht sogar sehr gut deutsch und englisch. Zu der Zeit, in der wir da waren, waren einige Festivitäten im Dorf, was teilweise sehr schön anzusehen war. Allerdings war dadurch abends die Luft mit einer entsprechenden Geräuchskulisse erfüllt. Alles in Allem hatten wir einen rundum schönen Urlaub auch noch unterstützt von 14 Sonnentagen :-)

Toskana mit Herz und Seele für Leib und Seele

Ich versuche mich kurz zu fassen, da keiner gerne lange Bewertungen liest. Aber das ist bei so vielen positiven Aspekten gar nicht so einfach. Meine Freundin und ich verbrachten 1 Woche in Guardistallo (ca. 1500 Einwohner) in der Villa Elena. Wir wohnten in einer Wohnung direkt am Haupthaus. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und liebevoll herrschaftlich eingerichtet. Hohe Decken, super sauberes Bad und ein bequemes Bett waren für mich die Highlights. Außerdem gehörte zu der Wohnung eine große Terasse mit schöner Sicht über die nahegelegenen Hügel und die etruskische Küste. Leider waren viele Tage in unserem Urlaub verregnet. Das soll aber die Unterkunft nicht schmälern, da man auch an solchen Tagen auf der überdachten Terrasse entspannen kann oder im Unterstand gegeneinander ein Kickerturnier bzw. Tischtennis austragen kann. Wir fanden es auch sehr angenehm einen zentralen Anlaufpunkt zu haben von dem aus man zu Ausflügen nach Lucca (sehr süß; 1 h 15 min Autofahrt), Florenz (beeindruckend, 1 h 30 min), Siena, in die Weinberge des Chiantis oder zum nahegelegenden Strand (z.B. in Cecina oder Vada) fahren konnte. Wer noch nie in der Toskana war und eher aus dem Flachland kommt, muss sich ein wenig an die Serpentinen dort gewöhnen. Die sind nicht ohne. Weitere Vorzüge des Geländes des Villa Elena waren die schöne Poolterasse, der liebevoll angelegte Garten und für mich als Katzenliebhaber die sehr süßen rumstreunenen Katzen des Hauses. Das leitende Ehepaar ist sehr nett, zuvorkommend und sprachlich sehr begabt. (Italienisch, Englisch und Deutsch fließend). Meine Freundin und ich danken für ne schöne Woche.

Danke schön für 2 schöne Wochen

Im Juni 2009 haben meine Frau und ich zwei Wochen Urlaub in einer 2-Zimmer Fewo im Herrenhaus verbracht. Wir bestätigen, das die Bilder im Inserat nicht übertreiben. Es sah dort wirklich so aus. Die ruhig gelegene Anlage wird ausgezeichnet von den Vermietern gepflegt. Wir haben uns dort fast jeden 2. Tag erholt. Abends hat man einen schönen Blick auf das 10 km entfernte, am Meer gelegene Städtchen Cecina. Die Wohnung beeindruckte durch die hohen Räume (ca. 5m) und dicken Wände. Durch die im Dorf fast immer wehende Brise bleibt es in den Räumen herrlich kühl, obwohl es in der ersten Woche tagsüber draussen mehr als 30° warm im Schatten wurde. Die immer freundliche, hilfsbereite Vermieterin gab super Tips für Ausflüge und Restaurants. Von dem auf einem Hügel gelegenen Ferienort aus sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten der Toskana gut zu erreichen. - Fahren Sie doch mal ins nahe gelegene Bolgherie oder nach Voltera. Auf den Wegen dort hin erleben Sie die Toskana, wie sie in den Prospekten und Büchern gezeigt wird. Das ca. 1400 Einwohner zählende kleine Dorf hat ausreichend Möglichkeiten zum Einkauf und mehrere Restaurants. Unser Favorit (ein Tip von der Viermieterin): Die Mini-Pizza La Fonda mit einem Koch, der herrliche Fischgerichte zaubert. Fazit: Wir können die Villa nur positiv bewerten. Rollstuhlfahrern und gehbehinderte Menschen werden in unserer Fewo wohl zurecht kommen (Zugänge ohne Stufen), haben aber, wie immer in hügeligen Gegenden, mehr Mühe. Die ca. 200 Meter bis in die Dorfmitte lässt nichtsportliche Menschen schon kräftig atmen. PS: Im Dorf gibt es leckeren Wein und gutes Olivenöl.

Why they chose this property

Virgilio Marchionneschi decided to built a house suitable for the changed needs of his family and farming enterprise. With this in mind, on the 22.02.1878 he purchased the old cemetery land next to the church and rectory.
He immediately started building a beautiful mansion to use as a home, with every comfort for his family and guests.
In the basement there were ample rooms for the needs of the farm: the olive press, a big cellar, grain stores and several store-rooms for the preparation and storage of the various products, which came from the numerous farms belonging to the property.
He also set up a precious archive of documents, books and religious objects in a small chapel consecrated to Cardinal Pacelli, future pope.
The mansion was called “Villa Elena”, probably in honour of Queen Elena of Savoia.
Virgilio lived there with his wife, and they were blessed with the birth of three children: Giulio, Fabio and Elena.
When he died, in 1920, his son Fabio inherited the villa, while Giulio inherited a similar villa situated in the Commune of Montescudaio.
On the death of Fabio Marchionneschi in 1938, following various successions “Villa Elena” passed to Elena Marchionneschi.
Her son, Piero Sforzini transformed the villa into a tourist structure in 1961 and nowadays the Hotel-Residence “Villa Elena” is patronized by a range of international clientele.
