VISTA bungalow has a bright open plan layout in modern, rustic style. It is peaceful here. Overlooking the gorgeous Chianti Rufina vineyards of the Castello di Nipozzano estate, it is difficult to believe we are just 30 minutes from central Florence. You would not even know the busy town of Pontassieve is nearby. Hop on a train from Pontassieve and you will be in Florence in 25 minutes. This is a genuinely rustic location! You need a car to stay here. Be prepared to drive a 1km unpaved farm road through the vineyards to reach the property. You will rewarded with lovely views and a peaceful location. The bungalow is equipped with 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, fridge, laundry washing machine and television. There is an air-conditioning unit (5kWh/day included in your rental and extra units charged at 40 cents.) This property makes a great base for visiting Tuscany. And the prestigious Castello di Nipozzano is within walking distance for winetastings in an unforgettable Tuscan setting.

Great country villa!! We stayed here for 2 weeks to enjoy Tuscany. Jane the host was the best we have ever experienced. She is on site, stayed in touch and provided great information about the area. The last 1/4 mile to the property is a little rough but nothing a car cannot handle. It can be a little crazy the first time. It is super easy to get to the town of Pontassieve (10-12 minutes by car) and take the train wherever you want to go. Florence is only 25 minutes by train. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for an out of the way place but close enough to get to explore.
Jane and Giampiedro were wonderful host ! Very helpful and spot on recommendations . The accommodations are comfortable and relaxing . The property is everything you would expect and more from a visit to Tuscany! Highly recommend the wine Tour located above the cottage !
We stayed with Jane and Giampiero in a beautiful house for twelve days in May/June. Everything was exactly as in the photos and in the description. Jane and Giampiero are very kindful and helpful, we got a lot of tips about excursions, shopping, restaurants, museums and, and, and. We are looking forward to coming back. Nora and Dirk from Germany
I can't say enough good things about both the cottage and the hosts. Jane welcomed us warmly and showed us around. The views from our windows were gorgeous. We loved the cottage; in fact, we loved the entire property. She and her husband, Giampiero, recommended places to visit: local towns, restaurants, coffee shops, and gelato shops as well as a wonderful wine tour and tasting at the castle above the property, which Jane bookled for us. We're hikers and enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds and a road leading up to the castle. When our rental car nearly had a flat Jane noticed and gave us the name of a tire shop and the time they closed. If she hadn't we would surely have had a blowout out in the country somewhere. We tired of very touristy places early on in our trip and were grateful for their less-touristy recommendations. Another American couple staying there said it was their second visit and I can see why. If we return to Tuscany, which is everything we thought it would be and more, we'd definitely stay there again. It didn't hurt that although we don't speak Italian (I'm sorry to say), Jane is fluent in both English and Italian. One or our best VRBO experiences ever!
We stayed in the ‘Vista’ property.
The first thing to say straight away, is that the hosts Jane and Giampiero are really welcoming and helpful. Jane’s communication with guests is exceptional and should not be underestimated. We made some alterations to our plans and Jane dealt with them with ease.
Good communication really became important on our arrival day. We took a flight which landed in the evening and we knew we would be arriving at the property fairly late. Due to flight delays and chaos at the car rental office, we set off from Florence airport much later than planned. We maintained contact with Jane and followed her (brilliant) directions to the house without any problems, but arrived very late and very tired. Jane met us and gave us a quick run through of everything. We had also taken advantage of Jane’s offer of getting groceries for us and we are so glad we did. It was Sunday the following day, we had plans and we knew we wouldn’t be able to get anything. If you are on a late or Sunday flight I would absolutely recommend you take up Jane’s offer!
We were due to go to the Moto GP the following morning at Mugello and had to take an early train. Jane very kindly offered to meet us early the next morning and show us to the station and where to park our car. She also helped getting the tickets. This was really helpful because we were still only just finding our feet from the night before!
Vista is a lovely property. We are fully in agreement with all the previous reviews about the views and the relaxing location. Simply stunning. We specifically chose Vista because it has a ‘full’ kitchen. We like to cook and it has everything you need. We had anticipated the rural position and the fact that in most cases you will need your car to visit restaurants etc. so we chose to eat lunch out using the car during the day and then prepare and eat dinner at home in the evening. We could enjoy a few glasses of delicious wine, sitting on the terrace, without worrying about driving. This is worth considering (unless you don’t drink of course!).
The property was spotlessly clean and the bed (which is huge), bed linen and towels are very good quality. Everything you need is in there, including a selection of wines from the local winery, which are available to buy (they are really good too).
Jasmine the dog and Peggy the cat are really friendly and funny and gave us a lot of entertainment!
Benissimo! Sehr schöne Umgebung, tolle Aussicht, Weingut in Laufweite :), sehr, sehr nette Gastgeber mit vielen tollen Tipps für Ausflugsziele und Lokale, top ausgestattete Ferienwohnung. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Grazie mille a Jane e Giampiero

Lovely house with a view, quiet location. Near railway station to take the train to Firenze.
Perfect hosts
Jane and her wonderful husband were so accommodating. They were a wealth of information of places to go & see and where to eat. Their place is in a beautiful location which gives you the true Tuscan experience. Jane arranged for us us to have the most wonderful wine tasting at the Frescobaldi winery. Because Jane knew we were arriving from a long flight from Canada she offered to get us supplies beforehand so that we would have something to eat and not have to go grocery shopping upon arrival. Their home is surrounded by gardens which they grow their own herbs which they told us to help ourselves to.
Everything in their listing was as stated and even more. If we could give more than a five star rating we would.
When we visit Tuscany again we will definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for making our Tuscany experience one of the best.

Sehr nette hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

My boyfriend and I had such a pleasant stay at Janes and Giampieros place. The house is very lovely with a lot of sweet details in the interior design. It is equipped with everything you need and makes you feel like home a lot. The private terrace has a stunning view and is a place to stay all day. The area around the house is like a big garden and perfect to relax and enjoy the nature. Just a 15 minute walk to the castle with a beautiful view. Jane is such a nice person and is very helpful with everything you need. We definitely want to come back one day.
Liebe Jane, lieber Gianpiero,
Danke, Thank you, Dziekuje,Grazie.

Incredibly picturesque property with all the modern amenities we needed along with comfortable, clean bedding. Even in the winter, the hillside vineyard views from the villa are beautiful and the property is well-maintained. It's location allowed us to easily get to the city while still having access to our car to explore the more rural parts of Tuscany for day trips.
It was our first visit to Italy and we could not have had better hosts. Jane and Giampero were very sweet and incredibly knowledgable of the area. They provided great recommendations locally and in the wider Tuscan region. Jane provided thorough descriptions of how to access the property and was available when we had any questions. Would love to come back when the olive trees and vineyards are in peak season!

About the host
Hosted by Jane
I live at Borgo di Sopra with my family. I am English and my husband is Italian with a lifetime's knowledge of Tuscany. We have been welcoming guests since 2008 and are Premium Partners of VRBO. Times have changed but we have always worked to make our guests feel at home here. I personally oversee the housekeeping, with particular care for attentive cleaning . We are happy to share our local knowledge with you and help you get the most out of your stay in this part of Italy.
Why they chose this property
Borgo di Sopra is a great escape. Isolated but not remote. You truly feel away from it all. You are in the midst of nature in a place of enormous beauty. There is lots of wildlife here, from deer to pheasants, hares, porcupines and all sorts of birdlife. Our 3 apartments have great views onto the vineyards of the Castello di Nipozzano. Each apartment has its own front door and outside terrace for personal use. The property is reached by a private farmroad. You are off the beaten track! But the town of Pontassieve is less than 10 minutes by car with a large supermarket and train station.
What makes this property unique
At Borgo you can walk uphill to the lovely Castello di Nipozzano. There has been a castle here since the year1000. The position dominates the surrounding countryside. But there is also a handsome Villa from the 1700s. Its aristocratic elegance charms and intrigues you. The wines here are impressive and on sale in the winestore.
