We had a fabulous week in number 6 and it was great to spend time in Cornwall 'out of season'.
We loved the feel of the cottage. The open fire made for a really cosy atmosphere, helped by the way it has been modernised but in a very traditional, handmade way. The mod cons were all there but the place had a lovely simplicity to it.
The garden was perfect for our dog Flossie to run around in, and when we had friends to stay their girls loved the aerial slide! From the door of the cottage there are footpaths for great walks, especially up the valley towards St Mawgan. Not to mention the coastal path! This was out of bounds in the 40mph winds blowing for most of the week, although we did make it over to Watergate Bay once, rewarded by a big lunch and pint at the Beach Hut.
Flossie loved the perfect sands at Mawgan Porth too, so much space for her to run around. The Merrymoor Inn by the beach did a great Sunday roast and nice ales! I loved the local road bike opportunities and also noted great mountain biking at Llanhydrock and nearby Cardinham Woods.
It was great to meet owner Carol during our stay and be treated to a tour of number 5 which looked similarly fab.
We would highly recommend these cottages to couples, those with dogs, and hope to be back with our own children in years to come.
