About the host
Hosted by Tom
West Hollowcombe Farm is the result of a dream to leave city life behind and create a home surrounded by nature, wildlife and open space.
After many years living and working in London, we fell in love with this hidden valley on Exmoor. The ancient woodland, river, rolling hills and sense of tranquillity made an immediate impression, and we knew we had found somewhere special to raise our family.
Jasper Cottage forms part of a collection of traditional farm buildings that we have carefully restored over the years. What was once a working agricultural building has been transformed into a warm and welcoming retreat while retaining the character and charm that make it unique.
Today, West Hollowcombe Farm is our family home. We live here with our three children, our dog, chickens, sheep and horses, and love sharing this special place with guests who come to experience the beauty and peace of Exmoor for themselves.
Why they chose this property
We purchased West Hollowcombe Farm because we were searching for a different way of life.
After spending many years living and working in London, we wanted to raise our family somewhere surrounded by nature, wildlife and open countryside. When we first discovered West Hollowcombe Farm, we were immediately drawn to its unique setting. The ancient woodland, flowing river and breathtaking Exmoor views created a sense of peace and freedom that we had been searching for.
The traditional farm buildings, including what is now Jasper Cottage, offered the opportunity to preserve a small piece of Exmoor's heritage while creating welcoming accommodation for visitors to enjoy.
Today, we feel incredibly fortunate to call West Hollowcombe Farm home. Sharing this special place with guests and helping them discover everything that makes Exmoor remarkable remains one of the most rewarding parts of life here.
What makes this property unique
Jasper Cottage offers an exceptional combination of space, comfort and direct access to some of Exmoor's most beautiful landscapes.
Unlike many cottages for four guests, Jasper provides a particularly spacious open-plan living area, making it ideal for longer stays, family holidays and couples travelling together. The two en-suite bedrooms provide privacy and comfort, while the south-facing patio offers wonderful views across the surrounding countryside.
Guests can explore miles of footpaths, bridleways, woodland trails and open moorland directly from the doorstep. The wider West Hollowcombe Farm estate includes 55 acres of private farmland and woodland, a beautiful river for paddling and wild swimming, a children's play area and abundant wildlife.
Horse owners are welcome, with stabling and grazing available by arrangement, allowing riders to enjoy some of the finest riding country in England without needing to transport their horses elsewhere.
The combination of spacious accommodation, authentic rural character, spectacular scenery and genuine Exmoor hospitality creates a holiday experience that guests return to year after year.
