As soon as you walk through the door you feel a traditional and cosy ambience, with a multi fuel stove and original beams. Ideal for couples seeking a relaxed escape to the country or small families wishing to explore the hidden gems of North Yorkshire.
May Cottage can be booked for up to three guests, with a stylish double bedroom and separate single room, which has lovely views across the open countryside.
Children of all ages are welcome and the property also accepts 1 dog (FREE).
Babies in arms are welcome in addition, but guests would be required to provide their own travel cot.
THE SPACE -
The charming lounge invites you to relax and unwind in front of the multi fuel stove. With snippets of history present adding to the traditional feel of this lovely period cottage. The quaint cottage styled kitchen leads from the lounge, with everything required to rustle up tasty suppers using the wonderful Yorkshire ingredients you can buy from the local village store, or many farm shops nearby. The practicalities are taken care of too with an oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, undercounter fridge/freezer and a washing machine. Through the kitchen, French doors lead into a light and airy sunroom which has seating for 4 along with a wooden bench shrouded with comfy cushions, ideal for curling up with your favourite book! French doors lead from the sunroom into the pretty cottage garden, which has outside seating ideal for alfresco dining on summer evenings. On warmer days throw open the French doors and bring the outside in, perfect for leisurely breakfasts.
There is also a secure bicycle storage, ideal for exploring the hidden gems of North Yorkshire on 2 wheels!
The first floor is reached via a characterful staircase from the lounge which opens onto a landing which provides useful storage and hanging space. The first of two bedrooms is located at the front of the property with views onto the main street of this pretty village. With a super comfy double bed taking centre stage adorned with the softest pillows and sumptuous duvet, it is the perfect place for a restful night’s sleep. An additional Velux window fills the room with light, perfect for stargazing!
The second bedroom leads from the landing with an equally as comfortable single bedroom with views reaching out towards the open countryside and beyond.
Separating the two bedrooms you will find a cleverly designed wet room, with everything required to compliment your stay.
