We absolutely loved Old Byre Cottage.
We absolutely loved Old Byre Cottage. Lynn was a brilliant host- very accommodating, with lots of thoughtful necessities which were greatly appreciated. This is one of the cleanest places we have stayed, it was comfy and homely with a great outdoor space too. We travelled to the Highland Show for the day which was just under a 2 hour drive, a great base. The only negative would be the intermittent WiFi but there’s mobile signal so it wasn’t the end of the world. 100% recommend.
Gorgeous property, spotlessly clean and spacious, would recommend

This was a great place to stay.
This was a great place to stay. It is in a beautiful location with beautiful views. The location is great if you have a mode of transport as it is a 25minute drive into Carlisle. There are great and new amenities in the home. Once you stock up the fridge you will not need to leave the home. Lynn, the owner, is very responsive and always happy to help. I would highly recommend this holiday home if you want a quiet place to retreat to or are attending a wedding at the Hidden River Barn.
