The cottage is spacious and set in the beautiful countryside of Blaencelyn village. The village was named after the cottage and it has transitioned through various times. It was once the local smithy and home to the Cilie family ,renowned in Wales for singing, poetry, clergy, sailing and much more, one grandson being none other than well known singer and former activist Dafydd Iwan.
The cottage was later a public house and even later a shop selling various brick a brack. It has been a family home to my family for over 120 years and is a much cherished place.
The setting is extremely quiet and tranquil and there is little through traffic around the village. There are some enjoyable walks to take and the nearest seaside of LLangrannog can be reached within about a 25 minute walk. However it is advisable to have a car or vehicle to hand as there is not much public transport available.
There are many beaches accessible within 20-30 minute drives, New Quay ,Cwmtydu, Mwnt Penbryn, Tresaith are but a few. The nearest local town is Cardigan although there are a selection of small shops available , not least next door, by way of the village post office.
There are local eateries in Llangrannog and Brynhoffnant very close by with a car, or for a more fancy taste in dining there is the Harbour Master in Aberaeron and the Falcondale in Lampeter.
