Greece charges a government tourist tax on every hotel and rental in the country, called the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee.

Because of the way this property connects to the booking site, the site does not collect this tax, and the price you see does not include it. Whatever the platform shows as "taxes and fees" does NOT cover this charge.

This is not income for us. It is only the government's tax, passed on exactly as it is set. We charge it to your card ahead of your stay, so there is nothing to pay, sign, or hand over when you arrive. You receive an official receipt.

The amount is set by the government, per night, for the whole villa, not per person:

15 a night from April to October

4 a night from November to March

It is one flat amount for the whole villa, the same however many of you stay, and the money goes to Greece's national fund for climate and disaster recovery.



Check in is by self check in using a secure keybox, which lets you arrive on your own schedule without waiting for anyone. We send clear step by step instructions before arrival, and a member of our team is always reachable by message if you would like any help during check in. If you would prefer a personal welcome instead, let us know in advance and we will arrange to greet you in person where possible.

Standard check in is from 4:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM, earlier or later sometimes possible on request. Quiet hours follow Greek law: 3:00 to 5:30 PM and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM from April to September, and 3:30 to 5:30 PM and 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM from October to March. Please keep music and gatherings low then. Electricity and air conditioning are included. Please switch off the AC and other heavy appliances when you are out. Stays of seven nights or more include a free weekly clean and full linen change. If anything is not right, message us during your stay so we can put it right. At checkout, please run the dishwasher, switch off lights and AC, close the windows and doors, take rubbish to the nearby municipal bins, and return the keys to the keybox. Guests follow Greek law and the platform's terms.

Cleaning and service: Stays of seven (7) nights or more include a free weekly refresh: floors mopped, rubbish out, and all bed, bathroom and towel linen changed, at a time we agree with you. Prefer no one in the rooms? We can do a linen and towels swap only. Shorter stays or extra cleans, just ask. Our seasonal summer pool: The pool is seasonal, open and ready from around 20 May to 20 October. In the shoulder weeks either side, opening depends on weather and preparation and cannot be guaranteed, so if the pool matters and you are booking close to arrival, message us first for honest confirmation. It is drained over winter (late October to mid May) as normal Mediterranean maintenance. We clean it twice weekly in season, and a quick shower before swimming keeps the water lovely. Internet: Fast satellite broadband, around 45 Mbps, easily handling 2K streaming and video calls on several devices at once. Wi Fi and wired Ethernet are both available, and wired is best for work calls. Please leave the Wi Fi extenders where they are. Speed can vary with weather and load, so if you need heavy uninterrupted connectivity for work, message us before booking. Quiet hours (Greek law, local time). 1 Apr to 30 Sep: 3:00 to 5:30 PM and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. 1 Oct to 31 Mar: 3:30 to 5:30 PM and 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Please avoid loud music and noisy gatherings then. Greek essentials: Plumbing is narrow, so nothing goes down the toilet; use the lidded bin provided, emptied with housekeeping. Indoor taps are drinking water, while garden and pool water is non potable. Being rural, the odd insect indoors is normal in summer despite regular professional pest control, so just store food well. Local tradespeople rarely work Sundays or holidays, so a same day repair is not always possible, and the area can have brief municipal power or water cuts outside our control. Winter stays include a starter batch of firewood. Checkout is usually at 10:00 AM, flexible but depending on availability. Upon checkout: Gather used towels, run the dishwasher, switch off lights and AC, close up, take rubbish to the nearby municipal bins, and return the keys to the keybox. Full steps are sent before arrival, and a later checkout is sometimes possible, just ask.

Agios Onoufrios is the quiet kind of place people picture when they imagine the real Crete, a calm seaside village rather than a busy resort strip. Within a four or five minute walk of the villa there is a local canteen and a traditional tavern, which is all you need for a morning coffee, a cold drink in the afternoon, or an easy dinner without going far. For a supermarket, a wider choice of restaurants and everyday shopping, the town of Kounoupidiana is about 2.5 kilometres away. Most guests hire a car for exploring Crete, and from the villa the town is a four minute drive. If you prefer to walk it takes around twenty five to thirty minutes, on a route with some uphill stretches and good views along the way. There is also an hourly bus linking the village to the town in about five to seven minutes, and we will send you a simple bus guide so the times are easy to plan around. It is a setting that rewards slowing down. Close enough to reach whatever you need, far enough from the crowds to feel like the place is yours.

For most guests, a car is the most practical way to explore Chania and the Crete Island rewards driving, and distances are short: The closest town is the town of Kounoupidiana which is about 2.5 kilometres away, where all supermarket and shops are. Chania old town is just 10 kilometres away, The closest beach, Agios Onoufrios Beach is a 5 7 minutes walking distance. Most guests find it easiest to combine a shopping stop with a drive to the beach or town rather than making a dedicated trip. Guests who prefer not to drive or would rather leave the car at the villa for an evening can get around easily by taxi or bus which is a normal and affordable way to travel throughout the Chania or Kounoupidiana or Akrotiri area. Wake to the Cretan sea framed in your window, step onto a sun terrace where the water runs all the way to the horizon, and spend your days moving between a private pool and a quiet sandy beach a few minutes' walk down the hill. Wonderful Villa sits in the calm seaside village of Agios Onoufrios, a short drive from Chania International Airport, so the holiday begins soon after you land rather than after a long crossing of the island. This is a genuine five bedroom villa for twelve guests, spread over three levels so a large family or a group of friends can be together when they want and have their own space when they don't. The middle level is the heart of the house: an open plan living room with a fireplace and two comfortable sofa beds, a dining area, and a full kitchen with a dishwasher, alongside a double bedroom with its own en suite and a quiet anteroom that gives the couple staying there a real sense of seclusion. Up the interior staircase, the top floor holds two more bedrooms, each with two single beds, its own en suite bathroom with a bathtub, and a balcony framing the sea. The pool and garden level has its own living room and a second full kitchen, a double bedroom and a flexible room with two singles and a double, a bathroom serving that level, and doors that open straight onto the pool and the garden. Inside, you have everything for an easy stay together: air conditioning, free WiFi throughout, a washing machine, iron and hairdryer, and two fully equipped kitchens so a big group is never queuing to cook. Outside is where Cretan summers are meant to be spent. The courtyard wraps around a private swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, shaded areas for long outdoor lunches, a barbecue, and a traditional wood oven for the evenings. When you want the life of the old town, Chania is about eight kilometres away, with its Venetian harbour, its narrow lanes, and the House Museum of Eleftherios Venizelos. Settling in is simple: street parking is available, arrival is straightforward, and the villa is well suited to families and mixed groups travelling together. The pool is seasonal and open through the warmer months. However you travel, as one large family or a group of friends, Wonderful Villa gives everyone room to spread out through the day and a quiet place of their own at night. It is the kind of house where a week feels like a proper holiday rather than a quick stop.
