Beautiful remote location. Centrally located to make visiting areas of Scotland easy. Fantastic common area & kitchen. Would definitely stay there again.

What a stunning part of the world this is!
We stayed in 2 adjacent properties as an extended family of 14.
The property was beautiful, in a picturesque location with all you would need for a get together of any kind.
We came up to Aberdeenshire to scatter my Dad's ashes in a nearby village and it was the perfect balance of remote and within travelling distance of Aberdeen and surrounding areas.
I can't recommend the property and the area/location highly enough

Deflated
Upon arrival to the property there was a unpleasant smell but thought nothing of it. The property itself was gorgeous, beautiful grounds and nice big windows with a view.
5hours after arriving the toilets started overflowing, every toilet in the property was out of action. We all went to bed and woke ip at 2am to no electricity in the house. This was not fixed untill 5pm Saturday night. We did request if there would be any form of compensation as we were left for majority of our stay in unlivable conditions but thehost claimed we had a party, which can't be further from the truth. Yes we had some decorations up as we were there for a hen but we had a quiet couple drinks and a chineese on the Friday and all in bed for 11pm. Wouldn't call that a party. You can also break your neck on the back step and the slabs leading up to the property as they are not laid securely. Due to the communication issues and attitude I have had from the host. We won't be staying at this property again and would never recommend it. Felt this could have all been dealt with so much better than it was.

When is a party not a party ?
We make it clear on the listing that the property is not to be used for parties.
Chloe pretty much broke the only house rule we have and went ahead and booked the property for a ‘hen’ party. Her group managed to block the drains - she demanded that we get someone out that night to unblock them. We had to explain that it’s not possible to get someone out to unblock drains in rural Aberdeenshire in the middle of the night. Arrangements were made for the drains to be unblocked the following morning. It then became apparent that Chloe’s party had managed to break a WC and flooded a bathroom. A plumber was dispatched to repair the WC and a cleaner was dispatched to clean up and provide additional towels. Chloe was hostile and rude throughout … it basically continued like this for the duration of Chloe’s stay. Chloe was offered the opportunity to vacate and a full refund which she declined.
We get lots of requests for parties / gatherings (not a party) / birthday dinner parties (not a party) / anniversary barbecues / celebrations etc etc and we always say no thanks. It’s a holiday home - not a venue. Chloe has been arguing with VRBO about compensation since August - she has only now posted this review in October. Her review reflects the fact that VRBO have declined compensation.
