With a beautiful view of Lake Arenal, our LakeGardens cute villas have so much to offer! The house itself is set within large gardens in a small, safe gated community overlooking the mystical Lake Arenal. The property is tropically landscaped and there are many exotic tropical plants . These make it a perfect place for bird and wildlife watching.

Fully equipped VILLAS, full size kitchen, large pool, beautiful gardens, lake views. Located between two volcanoes, Arenal and Tenorio and by 30 kilometers long freshwater lake. Small, intimate complex of five villas, family atmosphere. Very relaxing, surrounded by the nature.

Marcela was exceptionally welcoming. So helpful w providing local recommenations for dining, local travel destinations, and taxi service.Our cottage had fanastic views of Lake Arenal. Bird life that included tucans, guans and humming birds was right outside our front door.The laundry service was deeply appreciated.

We loved having our own hot tub! Completely private!!And lots of places to chill… the hot tub, the private back yard with chaise lounge chairs the front patio covered area and the front ‘yard’ open to the sun.. and the living room with couch and chairs. Behind a locked gate and a 5 minute walk to a mini market. We enjoyed walking a few miles down the country roads as well. 5 minute drive to the closet ‘soda’ that was simple and delicious. The landscaping and oool is kept immaculate!

Rustic, in nature

We stayed here for two nights. Not many cooking supplies but they worked for us. Rustic accommodations - the listing was accurate but I didn’t notice that there wasn’t a couch or chair to sit inside (except stools at the counter). Host was a great communicator - told us about the guans ( birds) that came to visit us each day. Nice pool!

This is an amazing property! The Property Manager is incredibly welcoming and responds to communications quickly. On top of that, she sent us lists of restaurants/activities as well as pictures of the resident wildlife so we would know where to look. We'll be back for sure!

Relaxing in Paradise

This is a relaxing and calming place to watch sunsets, observe wildlife outside your door and to swim in the pool. There are plenty of activities to do for the day within a one hour drive. We stayed a week a loved it. We would have preferred a way to cook our own meals (i.e BBQ).

LOVED this place

This place is such a gem. It was even more beautiful than the pictures in the listing. The little homes are surrounded by tropical trees and colorful plants. We heard howler monkeys each morning and saw toucans flying in the nearby trees. The house had everything we needed and felt private. The pool was very clean and well maintained. Breakfasts were delicious and made to order. Amazing communication from the owner, with a lot of local recommendations and help when we needed it. I'd 100% recommend this vrbo!

Trip to the Areanal area

Marcela is a wonderful and helpful hostess. Communication prior to our arrival was clear and punctual, and she quickly responded to my request for a change of reservation dates. The property is ideally situated for day trips to La Fortuna and multiple natural areas and activities. Marcela provided a number of recommendations for activities we could do on our own (we had a rental car) and-or with a guide. The option for daily morning coffee and breakfast, as well as an evening meal the evening we arrived is an added bonus. All of the staff and service were wonderful and I would definitely stay here again if we revisit beautiful Nuevo Arenal!

Beautiful Setting

The setting for this unit is beautiful. The pool was wonderful. The kitchen was not as well stocked as we would have preferred as we planned to do most of our own cooking. The listing stated a continental breakfast was included which was no longer the case. However, Marcela honoured the listing which we very much appreciated and the breakfast was amazing! She was wonderful to deal with. The howler monkey that visited every morning was a pleasure to watch. We enjoyed this lovely quiet property.

Don’t skip this place!

We stayed 4d3n and it was one of the best vacay we had. Marcela was very informative and let us know recommendations of restaurants and things to do. The place is very nice, tucked in a hill with beautiful greeneries. We saw monkey, iguana, lots of other animals and flowers. Nuevo Arenal is less than 5 min away, and there are numerous restaurants to try, from cheap to rather pricey. It was raining the whole time we were there so one day we were stuck with nothing to do. Worry not! Her place is very comfortable and she provided netflix and wifi. And we were able to cook breakfast too. Would’ve swam in the pool if it weren’t raining cats and dogs. La Fortuna is less than an hour away, and we were able to do some fun stuff there too.

Beautiful view and surroundings but

Lake Gardens has a gorgeous setting, pool, bird feeders which helped make up for some shortcomings in the actual accommodations. Our major disappointment was in the size of the kitchen which was not really a full kitchen (2 burners and small fridge) and lacked a few resources; part of the problem also was the lack of lighting in certain areas and receptacles that would not hold a 2 prong plug properly. There are 2 full size beds but not 2 bedrooms which might be a problem for 4 adults, we did okay but it was cozy. Our mistake in not looking at the layout more efficiently. For a couple wanting a great, lazy, do nothing holiday and the chance to wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds it will fill your dream ideas but be prepared to go out for dinner.

Awesome Arenal

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay, rental had beautiful grounds., plants and flowers everywhere! We had everything we needed and plenty of room, enjoyed sitting on front patio for breakfast every morning! Loved seeing daily birds, even had a visit from the turkeys! Heard howler monkeys every evening and morning!

Beautiful property and helpful host

We had an amazing week in Nuevo Arsenal staying at Lake Gardens. Not only is the property convenient to all the major attractions but the villa was a holiday in itself. The property was clean and well stocked with a pool to cool down in after a busy day. The host was incredibly helpful and kind, giving us info on local attractions and Google maps to help us find them. We simply did everything Marcela suggested from attractions to restaurants and had the best holiday ever!! We would highly recommend this place. And you must try the wonderful breakfast, delivered to your veranda.
