About this property
Cottage with beautiful garden, 7 mins from Henley-on-Thames
Located in the village of Binfield Heath in the pretty Oxfordshire countryside, a stone’s throw from Henley on Thames, this enchanting getaway awaits your arrival! Our delightful 2-bedroom cottage is the ideal retreat for couples, small families, or friends seeking a serene and cosy stay.
Once you step inside, you'll be welcomed by a warm and inviting living space which looks straight onto the extensive gardens and fields beyond. A comfortable sofa easily converts into a large sofa bed (king size). The room is also fitted with blackout blinds. You can enjoy a good book, watch Netflix on TV or simply sit and take in the views. Also downstairs is a second, very comfortable double bedroom which also overlooks the gardens.
The kitchen is well-equipped with induction hob, tall fridge and washing machine (no dryer), and is conveniently situated right next to the living area. There’s plenty of countertop and cupboard space making it a spacious kitchen to prepare meals in. The farmhouse-style dining table is in the kitchen. Note - there is no dishwasher. There is also a WC downstairs.
Upstairs, there is a light and airy bedroom with a king size bed and a bathroom, both of which overlook the garden. There is a shower at one end of the bath. Be aware the upstairs rooms are in the eves so height is restricted in areas.
Step outside, and you'll discover a sprawling, cottage-style garden. The garden offers the perfect setting for al fresco drinks in the warmer months - there’s outside comfy seating under the pergola. Our property also has private, gated parking for two cars.
The cottage is 50 metres from the local shop, post office and playground and a 10-minute walk from our local pub (the Bottle & Glass Inn) and one of our all-time favourite restaurants, Orwells. We are also 10 minutes away from Henley on Thames, famous for its Royal Regatta. A local bus service goes into Henley and further afield, to Marlow, High Wycombe and Reading.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE COTTAGE: the cottage is semi-detached, the main house being where your Superhosts, Mark and Sian live. The garden is large and also has Mark’s office in it, so you may see him walking to and from his man cave! It’s shared space which we really want guests to feel at home in and enjoy, and equally want your privacy to be respected. The cottage’s al fresco seating area is not overlooked at all by the main house.
Another point to note is that Mark and Sian have three Burmese cats, Rufus, Loki and Smokey who you may also see in the garden. They are super friendly and chatty.

About the host
Hosted by Sian Dodson
We are a family of 4 - we have two school age boys and have lived in Binfield Heath for over 10 years. Mark and I were both townies before (London and Bristol) but decided to move out for more space and greenery. Mark works from home and Sian teaches yoga aside from VRBO!
Why they chose this property
We bought the farmhouse years ago and have extended it in recent years. The opportunity came up to purchase the cottage next door (attached to the farmhouse) which we did in 2023 and have made some internal changes to it and renovated some areas. We united the gardens and over time, will be making more changes to it. We love the village - it has all you need. A pub, post office, bus route, local shop and playground!
What makes this property unique
The Cottage is really quiet but is near everything you need. It also has gated parking which is really handy for those who are security conscious. The Cottage looks onto the gardens so you can admire the view not only from the downstairs bedroom but also the living room and upstairs bedroom.
