About this property

Beautiful house with exceptional views.

Views in Looe don't come much better than this! Tregolva sits in a commanding position on the West side of Looe and looks directly down the river to the banjo pier and the bay beyond. The photographs of Trevolga really speak for themselves with the wonderful views from all the main rooms and the large furnished deck. However, to give some more information, the accommodation is arranged over two floors with the open plan living and dining area and the two main bedrooms enjoying the views. On the ground floor is the large open-plan lounge, kitchen, diner, also the utility room, and a shower room with WC. The lounge/dining area is comfortably furnished and has large bi-fold doors that open out on the beautiful deck. The deck is furnished and gets the sun throughout the day, hours can be whiled away here watching the activity on the river below. The kitchen is fully fitted and includes an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, and dishwasher and there is a washing machine in the utility area. The property has free Wifi, Freeview TV with BT Vision (allowing access to personal Netflix account etc), also a Blueray DVD player. On the first floor are the four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom a standard double, both rooms have Juliet balconies to maximise the enjoyment of the views. There are two further single bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath and shower over and WC.The property has gas central heating and also a wood burner for cosy evenings in, so is perfect for a holiday all year round. The walk down into West Looe is 5 minutes, a little longer on the way back up the hill, where there is the very popular Jolly Sailor pub, the wonderful West Looe General Stores which is a fantastic deli style shop, plus a Spar shop and the very popular Sardine Factory restaurant which overlooks the river. From here you can catch the foot ferry across to East Looe when the tide is in or wander around the river's edge which takes 5-10 minutes. East Looe has numerous cafes, shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy. Hannafore beach is the closest beach to the house (a 15 minute walk) a great beach for shell collecting and there are two lovely cafes to enjoy. The main beach is on the East side of town and is a large sandy beach. There is parking for up to 3 cars in the driveway but the access is steep and narrow. There is an additional parking space in a private car park approximately 400 yards from the house. The access on foot to the property is steep and there are steps leading down to the property from the parking area, please read the accessibility statement or contact us for more information.

The view

This property is all about the view - it is fantastic. All very clean, great shower downstairs and overall very comfy (apart from the two single beds which are a bit creaky). The location is great - as long as you are reasonably fit getting up the hill shouldn’t be a problem and the view makes it more than worthwhile. All of Looe can be easily accessed in no time at all. Driving up the very steep narrow hill was “fun” - we have a ford smax and I wouldn’t want to do it in anything wider. The other car in our group used the permit in the top car park - this was fine but be prepared for the walk back to the car - which is even steeper. The Jolly Sailor is a short stumble down the hill - this is a cracking little pub and I would definitely recommend a visit or two. We ended up in here three of the seven nights, including the quiz and pizza night on Monday. If you want to drink outside the upstairs garden of the Golden Guinea is great and the Fishermans Arms is another good old fashioned boozer with a little courtyard garden. We got the boat to Polperro and walked back which was good value and provided yet more amazing views. Overall a great property in a great location - one minor suggestion, we had great weather so could have done with some sort of shade on the balcony, but how often is that an issue in the UK??
