Compact and bijou, with bags of eclectic style, The Forge was formerly a blacksmith's smithy and is situated in the glorious, quintessential Norfolk village of Edgefield. This petite romantic couples hideaway is perfectly located for walking to the excellent, dog-friendly local pub. With walks, cycling, excellent pubs and the coastline within easy reach, couples and solo travellers will love this hideaway.
Beautifully curated on one level as an entire open-plan living environment, The Forge exudes style, as crisp, modern furnishings blend with antique furniture, original beams and exposed stonework. Horseshoes and historical photographs adorn the walls, with the working anvil featured in the garden. The light and airy living space boasts a well-equipped kitchen, providing everything guests need to self cater comfortably. The sitting room area provides a sumptuous deep sofa and a wall-mounted Smart television. Seating for two guests is available at a charming farmhouse table, making it the perfect spot for planning the day ahead over a cup of morning coffee, or for sharing a platter of delicious local produce into the evening. The plush king-size bed in the bedroom area overlooks the village green, and a separate room houses a large, luxurious walk-in shower. The accommodation opens onto a gorgeous spacious garden. With a charming bistro set provided, dining al fresco will surely beckon on sunny days. Being fully enclosed, this is a safe place for dogs to play.
Overlooking a large duck pond, The Forge is in a great location in the hub of the village of Edgefield, and just a short stroll from The Pigs pub, renowned for local British food. The Hunworth Bell in neighbouring Hunworth can be reached in under an hour by foot, or less than ten minutes by car. The bustling Georgian market town of Holt is a seven minute car journey away, and less than thirty minutes by car leads to the many stunning Blue Flag beaches and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty along North Norfolk's coast.
For larger parties, Pond Cottage located two doors down, sleeps four people. Both cottages can be booked together: Pond Cottage (Edgefield).
