About this property
Charming, pet friendly Grade II single-storey cottage on a quiet country lane.
Our spacious, Grade II listed, single-storey, holiday cottage dates back to the 17th century and was once part of a working dairy farm. Set in a courtyard adjoining the main farmhouse., the cottage benefits from parking directly outside.
With oil-fired central heating. double glazing and a wood-burning stove, the cottage is the perfect, cosy retreat all year round for you and your pet.
Sharrington is a small rural conservation village on the edge of the Glaven Valley. The village is set within unspoiled, countryside and quiet lanes, perfect for walking and cycling. yet within easy reach of the coast at Cley, Morston and Blakeney and just three miles from the picturesque town of Holt, with its excellent range of stylish shops, galleries, and places to eat.
The spacious accommodation comprises open plan living/dining/cooking area, double height with original tie beams, and reclaimed wooden maple flooring throughout, originally from a London tea warehouse.
The sitting area has a comfortable sofa, armchair, large dining table with seating and space to work. There is a wood-burning stove, with logs provided during the colder months. smart TV with Amazon Prime, books and games
The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, cooker and hob, under counter fridge and microwave etc. Freezer space is available in the adjoining barn.
A passageway leads to the double bedroom with king sized bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with Anglepoise bedside lights and internet radio. Door to rear garden.
Separate bathroom with bath with Aqualisa shower over, WC, basin, heated towel rail and mirror.
Pretty walled garden to the rear and side with garden furniture, a sitting out area, bench seat and cottage garden plantings. Door to the adjoining granary where a washing machine and tumble dryer are available for guest use.
With nearly 2 acres of garden and a small wood guests can also enjoy sitting out near the large, natural pond to the front of the cottage (not fenced) and in the sunny, adjoining orchard area but please note dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when in these areas as there are free range chickens. I am also a beekeeper with bees onsite but well away from the cottage!

Why they chose this property
We love living in this quiet village with no street lights.! It is very quiet here, just the owls at night and the barn owl often seen flying early and late in the field opposite.
There is wildlife and birdlife in abundance with hares and deer in the field opposite, tawny, little and barn owls and hedgehogs are often seen.
