This was my first time in Venice and we ended up being very happy with the location for the apartment. It was an easy walk from the water taxi stop and an easy walk to the Rialto Bridge. Initially I considered staying on the other side of the bridge closer to St. Mark's Square, but once we were there I was glad we didn't. That side was much more crowded and touristy with all the high end stores. Even though the Rialto Market area is also touristy, it still felt more "local".
As far as the apartment itself, we were very happy with it. It has a lot of character and worked perfectly for our needs. The owner communicated everything we needed to know about check-in beforehand and we didn't really need to communicate anything after that. There is a small canal outside the bedroom windows, which provided a nice little view as well.
Overall, we were happy with this choice and if I came back, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
