About the host
Hosted by Host
Swallows Nest is a traditional one-storey cottage with beams and log burner. The cottage has its own gardens and dedicated parking right outside the door.
Low Lands Farm has been in our family for three generations. In total, it covers 150 acres with Cragg Wood and the River Gaunless running along the edge of the farm.
In May 2000 we renovated some disused barns to create the cottage and as it is mostly on one level it was renovated with guests who have mobility issues in mind.
We welcome our guest's participation especially during lambing time or to collect the fresh eggs from our small flock of hens.
We buy sheep in the Autumn and lamb in early Spring. Some of the sheep are sold and some are kept for the following year to maintain our own herd.
Cattle are our main concern and although it fluctuates throughout the year we normally have around 200 head. Calves are born during the Spring and Summer months.
As a farm, we understand that pets form an integral part of people's lives. Therefore, we welcome pets into Swallows Nest Cottage too.
