The house was perfect our family of 15 had plenty of room all the kids loved being on ocean front Betsey was great answering any questions we had before our trip
There were 14 of us and we all agreed that this location and this house were our favorite ever! The house was clean and spacious, and the kitchen had everything you could need including two refrigerators! Having 5 bathrooms was definitely a hit! There is a lovely deck to relax on in the evenings and a large table so we could all eat together. We will be heading back for sure. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Lady. The views from the main living area were even better than portrayed through the pictures on the listing. Having private beach access was amazing! The back porch was likewise better than expected and we enjoyed it out there when we could escape the heat.
This is a beautiful beach home, well equipped with plenty of room inside and outdoors. Plenty of parking. It is right on the beach, so the view is amazing. The beach is wide and clean. I highly recommend “The Beach Lady”
This property has many excellent features: a) beautiful view of the ocean and sunrises; b) well-designed floor plan; c) tastefully decorated with a top-notch assortment of kitchen appliances and utensils; and d) very attentive property management. In short, this house is a gem.
Nice layout of house. Bedrooms perfect and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Open main living space for cooking and hanging out. Huge table so nice to eat together.
View is great with entire open ocean front.
Great week for us.
The house is so spacious and well stocked. We had everything we needed. It was fun to be right on the beach. The waves and undertows are pretty strong so it's not ideal for the kids but they had a great time. We had no problems checking in or getting in contact with the owner.
The Beach Lady was absolutely perfect for our family of 10! Our group consisted of three families that were able to have their own space if needed, but most importantly there was plenty of room to hang as a group inside or outside. The beach is truly right out your door making it so convenient to go back and forth all day and night!! The Beach Lady is within walking distance of the Kure Beach Pier and just a short drive to Carolina Beach. As you can tell we loved our trip to Kure Beach and that was largely due to the Beach Lady!!
The 7 of us absolutely LOVED The Beach Lady, and hope to return down the road! BEST huge beach-facing deck ever—with shade and sun and all types of seating, amazing panoramic views across the entire front, plenty of bathrooms, long dining table seating many, a puzzle/game table, fully-stocked kitchen, a humongous TV, lots of beach chairs for renters,…It’s a dream. Rent it! You won’t be sorry!
The Beach Lady was an excellent rental property for my family in September 2023. It was spacious, clean, and had all of the amenities a family may need when cooking and spending time together in a different space for a week! The house was very comfortable and truly felt like a home - what a difference that makes. Betsy was incredibly supportive leading up to and following our rental dates. I could not have asked for a better stay at a better house!
We really enjoyed the house and the area. My only problem was with having to rent the linens and towels and make all those beds before and after using them. This was not mentioned on the website. Should have been.

Hi Jennifer,
I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay. After seeing your review, I followed up with you to clarify that our policy on linens is, in fact, stated under the Amenities section of our listing in the notes section, which says:
"We do not provide linens, but they are readily available from nearby companies that will deliver them to you and pick them up at the end of your stay. For this service, we suggest you contact Seaside Linen & Rental Company (https://www.seasidelinen.com/).”
Our linen policy is also stated in the Rental Agreement we send to our guests for their approval and signature. This policy has rarely prompted any questions from our guests, and the linen service we recommend has worked quite well for them.
I also explained that we haven’t provided linens for two reasons. First, we have one washer and dryer in the house, and it would be impossible for us to wash and dry all of the linens for the house within the six hour gap between renters. We have our hands full cleaning and inspecting the house between renters, so handling the laundry for a house that size is simply beyond what we can do. Second, many of our guests don’t need every bed in the house, and some choose to bring their own linens, so we can hold down costs by not requiring every guest to rent linens for the entire house. By putting the linen rental into the hands of our guests, they pay for only what they need.
I hope this explanation makes sense and that people who read your review will better understand the linen situation. Based on your feedback, we also plan to review our linen policy and will talk with our other guests about this. Although VRBO probably seems like a big corporation, it is important to keep in mind that guests rent from owners like me, not from VRBO, and I am always open to discussions with our guests and help them have a terrific stay.
Regards,
Jeff Edwards
We had a wonderful time at the beach. The house was great, but not immaculately clean. Bed pillows were stained with yellow spots. The house is in a great location with 2 garages, so no problem parking. There were plenty of books and games, 2 refrigerators and a charcoal grill. Just bring your own pillows!

Peggy,
I just saw your review of my beach house on VRBO. I’m glad you had a good time, but I have to respond to your comments about the cleanliness of the house and the condition of the pillows.
Before you arrived, our property manager Betsy sent you a document that summarizes the responsibilities of our renters. That document states that, if you do not find the house in satisfactory condition, or if any issues arise during your stay, you should contact Betsy immediately. Instead, you waited until after you left and complained publicly on VRBO. By doing this, you did not give Betsy or me the chance to address your concerns when it mattered, while you were still at the house. Also, telling my future renters to bring their own pillows is inappropriate, because I would never expect renters to bring pillows, and we regularly inspect and replace pillows and bedding as needed. If you had simply told us that you found some stained pillows, Betsy or I would have replaced them for you, and the problem would have been solved. And I assume you used pillowcases, which means that any stains on the pillows would have been covered while you were using them. The same holds true for the cleanliness of the house, which you said was not immaculate. If we missed something while preparing the house for you, Betsy would have come to the house to fix it. You simply needed to ask.

Our family of 5 adults and 3 children, ages 6, 4, and 2, stayed at this property the week of July 4th. The location was perfect, parking for 4 vehicles, and beautiful views. The 2 refrigerators were a welcome feature and defnitely utilized...what a great idea for large groups!! The kitchen has everything you will need for cooking at "home". Great restaurants close by for pickup were such a great convenience! Huge dining room table and seating at the bar were just what we needed. The bedroom configuration was perfect for the family with 3 young children as well as single adults! The extra TV/living room on the third floor was great for the kids as well! No need to bring chairs or toys for the beach...all you could need are in the garage!! If you need a great family vacation home, away from the crowds, this location on Kure Beach is the perfect choice!!
My family, my sister's family, and our Mom had a wonderful stay. The location in the "middle" worked nicely. My husband brought his bike and rode all over that island. The main floor bedroom was perfect for Mom, as she didn't need to navigate stairs too often, and she loved the view. Betsy was available via text and responded quickly - very nice lady!
The beds were the most comfortable we've slept on... I miss that pillow-top mattress pad now that I'm home.
Lots of games and puzzles to keep you busy when you aren't outside.
There is a public beach access lot right next to the house, but it made for interesting people watching - we even saw a wedding!
A few minor maintenance needs (what beach house doesn't have those!), but overall the house was amazing and we had a wonderful time.
Would stay there again!
The location is perfect for surf fishing, the pier is 1/2mi north. 3.5mi south of the nightlife. Everything was perfect about the place. The beach, the furnishings, the water has good pressure, the water on the dock works, the grills, the kitchen utensils are in abundance, the 2 refrigerators and ice makers work very well, the long table is awesome, the TV's work and their smart TVs, two garage spaces for your gear or car, the beds were comfortable, there were plenty of blankets so we just used those to cover up on top of the bed since we couldn't find sheets.
1 issue: If you're looking on the VRBO app, there is a special note that isn't there on the app. I was sent it by text after we arrived but it's not on the VRBO listing so we didn't know. You'll have to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels, hand towels, washcloths or rent them from a rental company which is on the VRBO on a computer but not on a phone app. It's also hidden in the computer version of VRBO under Amenities at the bottom.
Here it is.
We provide beach chairs, sand toys, kites, and bocce ball for you to enjoy on the beach. The walkway from the beach to the house has a shower and hoses for cooling down and rinsing off the sand. Under the deck is a Weber charcoal grill and fish cleaning table. We do not provide linens, but they are readily available from nearby companies that will deliver them to you and pick them up at the end of your stay. For this service, we suggest you contact Seaside Linen & Rental Company
My extended family enjoyed staying here. Owner keeps the house up nicely, and property manager checked in to make sure everything was fine. Some houses we've stayed at in the past have a wide range of bedrooms such that some were not nearly as nice as the others - we especially liked this house because ALL of the bedrooms were nicely decorated so everyone was really happy with the room they got. Grandparents liked the short boardwalk without too many stairs to the beach. Teens loved the bedrooms and video collection! We hope to be back!

My wife and I bought the Beach Lady in 2009. We have three daughters in high school and college, and the Beach Lady has become a home away from home for our family and an attraction for our extended family visiting from other parts of the country.
Why they chose this property
Our family has been vacationing at the North Carolina beaches for many years. We have spent time up and down the coast, visiting Kure Beach as well as places such as Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Nag's Head, Surf City, Topsail Beach, Emerald Isle, Wrightsville Beach, Oak Island, and Holden Beach. Once we discovered Kure Beach, we knew we had found something very special. Kure Beach is very relaxed and friendly, and it has a real home town feel. The Kure Beach Pier is the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic coast, and walking down the pier is a nostalgic experience that sometimes includes the excitement of watching an angler land a King Mackerel. The restaurants offer good food served by friendly people who take the time to get to know you. Just south of Kure Beach is the Fort Fisher State Recreational Area, a large natural area with gorgeous windswept cypress trees, walkways near crashing waves along the shoreline, the NC Aquarium, and the Fort Fisher historic site. Just past these attractions is the ferry to Southport, a quaint town with Victorian houses and quaint boutiques and restaurants. To the north is Carolina Beach, which is more bustling than Kure Beach but worth the short drive for additional shopping and dining. We truly love Kure Beach and all it has to offer, and we look forward to using the Beach Lady as a gathering place for our family. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do and that the Beach Lady will be the anchor for many positive experiences and memories for your family.
