About this property
"Beach Lady", Oceanfront, 6BR/5BA, Luxury on the Beach
The Beach Lady is a 3000 square foot oceanfront home that was designed and built in 2003. The main floor has picture windows facing the ocean that run the entire width of the house, which provide breathtaking views of the Atlantic. Outside the main floor is a 700 square foot deck that also runs the entire width of the house, providing rocking chairs, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, and picnic tables for enjoying the sun and ocean views. The main floor also has a fully equipped kitchen with two full-size refrigerators, a dining table that seats 12, an adjacent table that seats 4, and a counter that seats 3. The dining area opens onto a living space with three sofas and a 60-inch high-definition TV, complete with a surround sound system, a Blu-Ray/DVD player, and a cable for connecting your iPod or MP3 player. The Beach Lady also has wireless internet service that broadcasts from the main floor.
The Beach Lady has six bedrooms and five full bathrooms. The first floor has a bedroom with two twin beds, a private bathroom, and a TV with a Blu-Ray/DVD player. The second floor, which is also the main floor, has a bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom that also connects to the main living area. The third floor has four bedrooms, two with king beds and private bathrooms, one bedroom with two twin beds and a vanity with a sink, and another bedroom with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. These two bedrooms share a bathroom just off the adjacent hallway. The third floor also has a den with a sleeper sofa, an Adirondack chair, a large TV with a Blu-ray player, and a LifeFitness Lifecycle you can use to exercise while enjoying the ocean view. Also on the third floor is a separate laundry room, which has a full size washer and dryer. All Blu-Ray/DVD players can connect to the internet, and the TV on the second floor is connected to Spectrum cable. We also provide a collection of DVDs for your enjoyment. Starting in 2024, linens are provided, including bed sheets and pillowcases, bath towels and washcloths, bath mats, and kitchen towels.
Our guests consistently talk about how the Beach Lady feels comfortable and homey. She is decorated throughout with pictures and knick-knacks that create the flavor of living at the beach. We also provide books that include fiction and non-fiction, with several titles selected to help you discover the cultural and natural history of Kure Beach and the North Carolina coast.
The area surrounding the Beach Lady is a truly wonderful oceanfront community. Kure Beach is a former fishing village that lies between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. Just to the south of Kure Beach are historic Fort Fisher, the NC Aquarium, and a ferry that connects you to Southport, a quaint village with antique shops and nice restaurants. Just past the ferry station is the mouth of the Cape Fear river, where you can view Bald Head Island and gorgeous sunsets. To the north of Kure Beach is Carolina Beach, with lots of shopping, restaurants, and a small amusement park. Further north is Wilmington, which has first-class shopping, museums, art galleries, restaurants, water parks, golf courses, and the USS North Carolina Battleship.

About the host
Hosted by Jeff Edwards

My wife and I bought the Beach Lady in 2009. We have three daughters in high school and college, and the Beach Lady has become a home away from home for our family and an attraction for our extended family visiting from other parts of the country.
Why they chose this property
Our family has been vacationing at the North Carolina beaches for many years. We have spent time up and down the coast, visiting Kure Beach as well as places such as Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Nag's Head, Surf City, Topsail Beach, Emerald Isle, Wrightsville Beach, Oak Island, and Holden Beach. Once we discovered Kure Beach, we knew we had found something very special. Kure Beach is very relaxed and friendly, and it has a real home town feel. The Kure Beach Pier is the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic coast, and walking down the pier is a nostalgic experience that sometimes includes the excitement of watching an angler land a King Mackerel. The restaurants offer good food served by friendly people who take the time to get to know you. Just south of Kure Beach is the Fort Fisher State Recreational Area, a large natural area with gorgeous windswept cypress trees, walkways near crashing waves along the shoreline, the NC Aquarium, and the Fort Fisher historic site. Just past these attractions is the ferry to Southport, a quaint town with Victorian houses and quaint boutiques and restaurants. To the north is Carolina Beach, which is more bustling than Kure Beach but worth the short drive for additional shopping and dining. We truly love Kure Beach and all it has to offer, and we look forward to using the Beach Lady as a gathering place for our family. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do and that the Beach Lady will be the anchor for many positive experiences and memories for your family.
