About this property
Apartment in Florence with 2 bedrooms sleeps 4
Degas apartment is stunnig apartment close to Arno river in Florence. This property is located on the second floor with elevator of a building located on Via de' Bardi away from the tourist bustle of the inner part of the center, but at the same time near any monument of Florence and you will be able to reach anything with just a few minutes.
Attractions
The apartment is located in the historic Oltrarno district. "Oltrarno" means "beyond the Arno" and this area extends along the south bank of the river. The Oltrarno represents the true essence of Florence: a quiet, green area and therefore more relaxing than the others. For this reason many tourists appreciate it more and more. This area is also known as the handicraft district, famous for its delightful shops, small shops and artisan studios (in particular antiques and leather goods): via Maggio is the center of Florentine antiques.
From a rural center, in past centuries the Oltrarno became a chic neighborhood where many aristocrats built their own palaces and villas. The largest of these is undoubtedly Palazzo Pitti, former home of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany. Today, Palazzo Pitti hosts many exhibitions and museums, among the most important in the city. Other important attractions of the Oltrarno are the Brancacci Chapel with its magnificent frescoes by Masaccio, Masolino and Filippino Lippi, the Piazzale Michelangelo with its breathtaking view of Florence, the magnificent church of San Miniato (one of the highest points in the city and the best example of Romanesque art in Tuscany) and the Ponte Vecchio which houses countless jewelers and goldsmiths. Inside the Pitti Palace is the wonderful Boboli Gardens, an open-air museum of sculptures, some dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
Finally, the Oltrarno is also famous for the market in Piazza Santo Spirito (set up every morning), its cafes and wine bars (Olio & Convivium, Bene Vobis, Caffè degli Artigiani, etc...) and the trattoria offering Tuscan cuisine ( Santo Bevitore, The 4 Lions, Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco, The Warehouse etc...). Those who choose to live in this area will find a wide range of food shops, pastry shops, bakers and much more.

The apartment consists of a beautiful and spacious living room, a well equipped kitchen and two bedrooms, both with double beds, and ensuite bathrooms (one of which has a shower without box. One of the bathrooms has a bathtub, the other one has a shower, and both are fully furnished in marble.

The windows of the property overlook the Arno river and the Uffizi. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning and WiFi internet access (download 30 bm/s).
Our Opinion:
Ideal for a family or for those looking for an upscale property for short or long stays. Its location is great for all those wishing to live in a more secluded area of the center, but without giving up the chance to visit Florence on foot or reach the central train station.
The apartment is not recommended for families with children.
