About this property

Inglenook Cottage - Broad Campden, Chipping Campden, sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

Inglenook Cottage is the epitome of a chocolate-box cottage, and has indeed featured on postcards, in books and in the press. Brimming with character and situated alongside many other thatched properties in the idyllic village of Broad Campden, Inglenook Cottage is a superb base for visiting central and North Cotswold attractions and villages, as well as picturesque walks directly from the front door.

300 years old, this Grade II listed cottage used to be the village smithy. Inside the cosy sitting room is a huge inglenook fireplace, complete with seat and bread oven where you can snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove. There are countless exposed beams, a stone staircase and ancient wooden floorboards. The property is sympathetically restored with top quality modern appliances, a beautifully fitted wooden kitchen, an inviting bedroom with a king-size bed and a modern shower room. Outside, is a small, sheltered walled courtyard garden with a patio area and garden furniture to enjoy the Cotswold sunshine.

Ideal for a romantic escape, the village pub (The Bakers Arms) can be reached on foot and a very short drive away is Chipping Campden, an historic market wool town, with an abundance of independent shops, restaurants, wine bars and teashops. A little further afield are the popular Cotswolds towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughter, and Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon is just a 30 minute drive away.

Additional Information:
Gas central heating.
Please note, since photography, the open fire has been replaced with a wood burning stove.

As owners of Inglenook, we stay here a lot. We just love the place, and we relax the moment we walk in. It’s warm, comfortable and cosy, full of character, and very spacious for two people. The Cotswolds need no introduction, there’s so much to do. Our favourites include walking into Chipping Campden for a coffee (and four named walking trails pass through Broad Campden), riding the GWSR steam railway, visiting the theatre at Stratford, and we always call in at the Bakers Arms ... Broad Campden is a beautiful village, and a great location for a stay in the Cotswolds! Enjoy your stay. Graham and Margaret.
