Casa Etruria is a 13th century gate house over the Western entrance to Trequanda - Porta al Leccio. Trequanda is medieval borgo located in Val d'Orcia , south of Siena. Val d'Orcia was recognised by UNESCO in 2004 as a World Heritage Site for its outstanding beauty.

The space
The first floor features a beautifully-appointed living room with loads of period charm, modern and antique furnishings. There is a spacious dining area and a large terrace suitable for morning coffee to evening apertivi. The kitchen is fully furnished for self catering.

The contemporary Tuscan-style bedroom has a double bed, en suite bathroom with shower, air conditioning and a panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside. It is perfect for a great nights sleep. The glorious countryside view awaits you for an inspiring start to the day!

About the host

Hosted by William Conner

Professionally, Bill has over 40 years’ experience in development and as a management consultant in philanthropy with broad international experience. Having retired from Oxford in 2019 and again from Cambridge in 2023, he holds an Emeritus Fellowship from Wolfson College, University of Oxford and as well as a Life By-Fellowship with Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge. Bill continues to maintain a thriving multi-national consulting practice, Conner and Associates, based in London and Boston.

Much of Bill’s life has been centred around a strong interest in classical music, with a particular expertise in 17th and 18th century keyboard music. Bill was a founder of the Boston Early Music Festival in the late 1970s and is currently a trustee of Handel Hendrix House in London and the Voces8 Foundation (London). New projects emerging as part of retirement 2.0 include developing international opportunities for talented young musicians, a new focus on where classical music meets the digital world, and supporting the musical life in Tuscany where he now lives part of the year.

Why they chose this property

Twenty years ago, a group of friends got together to form a summer harpsichord academy in the neighbouring village of Montisi. Since then we have made many friends in the area and have come to love the area.
