This house was perfect for our family. Very clean and had everything we needed. Great location for our family that drove in. Close proximity to metro station with parking garage and old town Alexandria.
Our family of five had a great stay here. Communication and checkin were smooth. Rooms were perfect. Our little one enjoyed her job feeding the outdoor kitty. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much Maureen! I’m very happy that you all enjoyed your stay. I would welcome you back anytime!
We stayed here as we have family close by. It was so worth it! For once we all got great sleep on vacation. Since our young kids have an early bedtime it was nice to be able to catch up downstairs while they slept soundly above. The host was very considerate, we’re so thankful this space was offered.

This is a big, beautiful house to stay in for a small or large family. Plenty of room and you will have just about anything you need. The owner communicates fast and officiant if you need anything. The location is great for visiting local historical sites and just 20 minutes away from DC. We had a wonderful time on this trip!

Perfect location. Ideal accommodations for 6 adults
Communication was quick and friendly from the jump. The home affords cozy and intimate nooks for cooking and conversing and space for naps and privacy. Everyone had their own bathroom which was nice when we all had to get ready at the same time.
Beautiful home in a great location is exactly what is needed when juggling multiple family events and needing a place to totally relax, while enjoying all the comforts of home. This home exceeded expectations on all fronts. Plenty of room to relax, fully functional and comfortable kitchen - everyone spends time here! - wonderful sleeping accommodations, and friendly/safe neighborhood. We are runners/walkers and easy access to the Mt. Vernon Trail got every morning off on the right foot :-)The owner was the perfect blend of proactive, responsive and pleasant. We will be staying here again for future family events.
Three bathrooms in each of the 3 main bedrooms was a perfect wonderful bonus. The nearby village (walkable) was perfect. Lovely, friendly neighborhood. Short drive to the metro to get into D.C.

Wonderful sanctuary near Alexandria
Our family of four, together with two elderly grandparents, had a wonderful stay at Laura's property. Laura could not have been more accommodating or helpful and her wonderful home was spacious, well stocked and immaculate. There was ample space for everyone, we particularly loved that the children had a whole ground floor to play in that was fully stocked with games and toys, giving the adults the opportunity for uninterrupted post-dinner conversations! Would stay again in a heartbeat - highly recommended!

My parents and all four adult siblings had a wonderful stay celebrating my youngest Brother’s graduation from Georgetown. The house is gorgeous and encapsulates Virginia’s charm. Having lived in DC 20 years ago, it was nice to see the city again. But honestly, my favorite part was exploring Alexandria. My Brother decided to continue his higher education, so I know we’ll be back for another graduation, and I hope to stay here again! Thank you for being wonderful hosts!

The house and the location were perfect
We were 4 adults with 2 children under the age of 5. We spent most days home visiting with each other and playing with the kids. The home was extremely comfortable, spotless and well stocked.
The playroom and the 2nd living room downstairs was perfect for our needs. The upstairs bedrooms were very comfortable. Each had there own bathroom. There was a shopping center nearby and restaurants in Old Town
All easy access.
Laura was very attentive.
I would stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends

Convenient Location/Comfortable House
If you are planning on sightseeing in the DC area, this house is perfectly located. Less than 20 minutes to everything you would drive to(Old Town, Mt. Vernon, The Harbor) and a 10 minute drive to Huntington Metro which will take you everywhere else! The house itself is spacious, very clean and comfortable and provides a nice quiet place to recharge for the next day of adventure. Laura must be close by as she offered to "come over and show us around" on our first night when we expressed a little confusion on where things were and how late they could be visited. She is a knowledgeable and gracious host! I hope she is able to continue offering her home because it is a indeed a gem in the DC area!!! Thank You, Laura and family for welcoming us into your home.

Thank you Tara! I am so pleased that you all were able to enjoy so many things to do that are close by. I hope that first night visiting over at National Harbor was memorable, seeing everything at night is a best kept secret here in the DC area. :-) I am honored that you chose my home for your trip and appreciate your kind words. It was our pleasure to have you here!
We stayed there as a group of 8. Two families of 4 and we had plenty of room for everyone. The two couples had their own bedroom with bath attached. That was awesome! The 4 kids had 2 other full baths to pick from.
We loved the location. It was close enough to nice restaurants in Alexandria. We Ubered out to DC in the mornings, but in the afternoon we took the blue or yellow Metro lines to the Regan Airport then a free shuttle to King ST in Alexandria. We ate there then Ubered back the to the house. I believe there is a Metro that will take you to the King St depot but it was under construction.
The house was very clean and what the pictures represented. There was room for us to park our full size pickup and SUV in the driveway. The neighborhood was very nice looking and quiet.
Overall we had a great stay and will consider this property again if we visit again!!

Thank you so much for choosing my home to stay in, it really was my pleasure to host you all. I’m so glad you all has such a wonderful trip! I’m happy to welcome you back anytime!
Our whole family stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving. This house worked great for all of our needs. It was very clean, well equipped, and Laura was a very responsive host. We would happily stay here again in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. Very spacious with modern appliances and every comfort we could ask for. It was perfect for our young children. Four bedrooms upstairs together and a gigantic suite in the basement. Multiple tubs to bathe the kids too. This was the perfect place for our visit from overseas, and I would also enjoy renting as a longer rental. Thank you for a fantastic house to enjoy the area!
The property was convieniently located for all we wanted to do during our stay.....especially once we figured out the nuances of the Metro. We had a party of 7, no one younger than 17, and had plenty of room.
The location was clean and well appointed. Taking care of the on-premise outdoor cat was no issue and we enjoyed seeing her at various times throughout the day.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this location again and recommend it highly.
Metro-wise, be aware that the typical station has very little in way of parking which surprised us Midwesterners as a parking lot is usually part and parcel of any transportation infrastructure. Once we found that the Huntington station at the end of the yellow line had a large parking garage we were set and it was only a 7-10 minute drive away.

Turned away in the cold
BEWARE! You will be charged even if the unit is not habitable! We arrived a little after check- in time, shoveled the snow covered driveway, and proceeded to visit with family in the area. Upon our return that evening, we found there was no power or heat, so we were forced to find other accommodations. The power did return for the rest of our stay. Later we were offered an additional day at the end of our allotted time to make up for the missed night; however, like many we had a set itinerary and needed to leave. We respectfully requested a refund for the night in question, and were flatly refused, even being accused of extortion! Any gracious host in any lodging would have cheerfully refunded the charge. She was more concerned about making sure the cat ( who lives in a box on the deck even through the blizzard) was fed.

After 5 years of 5 star reviews on both VRBO and AirBnB this is the first time a guest has flat out lied. Due to a snow and ice storm in the area there were widespread outages in the area and power returned within 24 hours. She elected not to stay during the outage (and went to her sisters house nearby). The house was in fact habitable although cold, just as the 340,000 other homes in the area without power were. She was offered an additional night at the end of her stay which she declined which was more than generous. She also did stay in my house with the exception of the one night that the power was out. She did in fact say that she would not leave a good review without getting a refund, so her claim that she respectfully asked for a refund is ridiculous. This is extortion and against the terms of service of the platform.
Just returned home from our stay at Laura's place in Alexandria
This was a beautiful home in a quiet, quaint neighborhood, with excellent access to George Washington Parkway, Old Town Alexandria, DCA, and most importantly to us, The River Farm. Did I mention a Safeway and Walgreens a few blocks away.
We were 7 adults with an occasional infant. prepping for a wedding at George Washington's River Farm. Don't think there could be a better place to stay, roomy, bright clean and comfortable.
Thank you Laura for offering your home to us. It was our pleasure.
Joe
Our family (age range 2-61) was comfortable and felt pampered in this lovely house. The host was wonderfully communicative and welcoming. The house was fully stocked and clean as a whistle. The neighborhood was quiet and we had the most wonderful time. There was an unexpected toy room for the kids and we loved that we got to feed and visit with the cat that lives on premises. If we get to visit the area again, I'd definitely stay at this property again.

Hi there and welcome to Alexandria! I am a native Alexandrian and single mother of two great kids. I can help you find tons of cool things to do and see here. during your stay. I love sharing local spots of must see and do activities. I will be in the basement suite if I am not on travel, so I am close by if you need anything. I am an Agency Owner of Royal Global Travel, professional Floral Designer, Flower Show Judge and love gardening. I have done volunteer work in Alexandria with the Junior Friends of The Campagna Center for over 12 years.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is close to everything you could possibly want to do, and I chose to live here because of its proximity to schools for my children, parks, the community feel of the neighborhood, local attractions and safety. This home was constructed in 2013 and I am the first homeowner. We built the deck to enjoy the backyard and have planted a lot of shrubs and perennials and am constantly working on the garden.
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location. Having grown up here in this area, this neighborhood is close to things to do while feeling like it is further out in the country thanks to all the trees lining the George Washington Parkway. So much interesting history in this area is all around, and my home actually sits on one of the former farms owned by George Washington himself. I am halfway between Old Town Alexandria and George Washingtons estate Mount Vernon.
I have a mix of traditional antiques and bright colors to keep it interesting and the open space floor plan is enjoyed by many people. Plenty of room to be together or apart!
