About this property

The Boat Builders House - Oia

Built in the late 1800s, this home was originally the workshop of Markos, Santorini’s last remaining wooden boat builder. Boats were once built by hand inside what is now the living room before the space became a family home. Markos began his craft at age 11 in the port of Armeni below Oia and continues to work on the island today.

This was the perfect little spot to spend a few days in Santorini. Calm and quiet and yet right in the middle of the beauty and activity with plenty of amazing restaurants just a few steps away from the front door. A great place to return to after exploring the island for the day. Manolis was so helpful at every step of the process, including booking me a pick-up car service from the airport. I felt as though they were my Santorini family.!
