About this property

Blueberry Cottage, Holiday cottage Solva, Sleeps 6, 3 bedrooms, bathrooms

Blueberry Cottage, a delightful semi-detached traditional stone cottage with a hot tub (charged out of season), nestles on the hillside of Solva above the picturesque harbour with stunning sea views over the roof tops to St Brides Bay. Located on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with facilities within walking distance, this holiday cottage has all you need. A slightly sloping footpath leads from the quiet no through lane to this cottage which has been fully renovated, yet retains plenty of character with beams and sash windows, reflecting its coastal location. The enclosed paved terraced garden has steps leading up to a raised decked area with wonderful sea views where you can dine alfresco on a summer’s evening or relax in the hot tub with stars twinkling overhead. The small entrance hallway leads through to a cottage style well-equipped fitted kitchen and then through to the an open plan sitting/dining room, the Bioethanol wood burning affect fire ensures a cosy feel on the chilliest of evenings. A ground floor double bedroom has French doors opening to the enclosed terraced garden and an ensuite wet room. Stairs from the sitting room lead to 2 further bedrooms in the eaves with a small shower room. Both bedrooms offer super sea views over St Brides Bay, wake to the sun shimmering on the water.Conveniently located yards from the Coastal Path, it is ideal for exploring this stunning coastline on foot, the bird and wildlife will amaze, as will the sea views to the islands of Skomer and Ramsey, take advantage of the Puffin Shuttle to catch a lift back from longer walks.  A footpath takes you down to the beautiful sandy inlet popular with sailors and kayakers, there is even a yacht club. At low tide, children will enjoy exploring the rock pools, crabbing and bathing at the mouth of the inlet. There is a well-stocked village shop and pub within walking distance in Upper Solva, while a short downhill walk will take you to a range of pubs, cafes, restaurants and galleries clustered round the pretty harbour in Lower Solva. Solva Woollen Mill nearby is well worth a visit, while a short drive will take you to the stunning Newgale Beach, its long golden beach is popular with families, water sport enthusiasts and surfers, professional and beginners alike. The tiny City of St Davids with its majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace, as well as excellent range of shops, pubs and restaurants should not be missed. Take a boat trip to Ramsey Island from St Justinians to see the seal pups in September and marvel at the bird life, while Whitesands Beach is sure to be a highlight of any holiday.Blueberry Cottage has all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday, whatever the time of year.£150 security bond required.* WiFi available only in lounge/diner, upstairs bedrooms and shower room *Please note: No stag or hen parties. One Level Accommodation - This denotes that a bedroom, bathroom or shower room, whb/wc, living area and kitchen are on one level - guests must check the property access statement on the website or request a copy via email to base their decision on, if this is important to your stay.
