Ty Mawr is a comfortable and well equipped home . It has a lovely cosy lounge , an office/den , a fully fitted kitchen , 3 bedrooms and a utility room .It sleeps 6 persons . It stands in an beautiful location in the mountains of Snowdonia set within Coed Y Brenin forest.
The views are stunning as it overlooks the Mawddach valley . Set in 8 acres ,surrounded by Ancient woodland it`s a paradise if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. For star gazing its ideal as it is part of Snowdonia dark skies area.
There are walks from the door through the forest to the river Mawddach. After 10 minutes walking from the house, once you're by the Mawddach river, you get on all the marked trails for mountain biking and trail running and walking etc. There 2 amazing waterfalls, as well as a bit further to the Coed y Brenin visitor centre and cafe.
Perfect for mountain biking . Hose and brush and secure storage available .

Harlech Castle and beaches 35mins
Porthmadog 35mins
Whitewater rafting 45mins
Barmouth seaside town 40mins

Activities , Everything to do with nature. There are Walking , Hiking , Mountain Biking and running trails all within 10 minutes walk from the house . Snowdonia Zip world and caverns are within an hour .
Archery Fun . Marek the host lives nearby on site and is a qualified archery coach and can offer introductory lessons for any members of the family who are interested.

Beautiful location and lots of activities

This property is in a beautiful, remote location very close to the mountain biking area of Coed y Brenin. The owner has a private track down to the river Mawddach which leads onto the Coed y Brenin forest tracks so ideal for mountain biking and trail running. We also walked Cadair Idris and went to the beaches at Barmouth and Harlech all of which were within 40 minutes drive. The house itself was very comfortable with a log-burner and induction hob in the kitchen and the outside area had a BBQ and log pit with charcoal and logs supplied. Marek was very helpful and has his own professional archery range which guests can book. We would recommend this holiday for those who want to get away from it all and make the most of all the activities the area has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Its a rural retreat , in the most beautiful location with no close neighbours . Surrounded by wildlife especially Roe deer , Hares , Rabbits , Buzzards and Tawny Owls . The woodlands below are classed as a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to the ancient woodlands. Its all yours to explore.
