Fabulous Villa With Use of Private Heated Pool South Of Carcassonne

Escape to this wonderful 2 bedroom villa, a perfect family getaway. Enjoy space and quality in this "home from home" environment. It is set in a secluded small hamlet of 6 houses which is in walking distance from Puivert down a leafy lane with spectacular views of a Cathar castle. There are two acres of gardens adjacent to the villa as well as ten acres of meadow and woodland great for nature lovers.
The pool area is surrounded by meadows and woodland making a perfect spot to relax in the sun listening to the bees and watching the butterflies and humming hawk moths. The saline 10 x 5 metre pool is great for swimming as it is much kinder to skin, the pool has steps for easy access, a ledge around the edge as well as a separate shallow children’s pool. The pool is only shared with us the owners so there is plenty of space for you to enjoy this wonderful space.
The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, cooker and double sink, everything for the budding gourmet. There are two lovely bedrooms; the main bedroom has a king-size bed with an ensuite bathroom that has both a bath and a separate shower. The second bedroom has twin beds and a shower room. Quality bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchen/dining room has a log burner and the living area has a flat screen TV, there is WIFI, DVD player, CD and IPOD player as well as a small library area with lots of books and DVD’s for your use. The dining area seats 4 very comfortably, in the summer season enjoy eating alfresco on the terrace directly outside the bifold doors of the living area. The terrace is partly covered so you can enjoy alfresco eating not matter what the weather.
We are sorry but due to the steps the property is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Gorgeous property in great location

We were lucky enough to stay at this property for a week. The house is immaculate, the kitchen really well equipped and the pool and gardens are lovely. We barely ventured out but those who did enjoyed the local markets and the excellent cycling all around. Kim, Duncan and Ella the dog are great hosts, very friendly, helpful and good to talk to. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Beautiful place

We had two wonderful weeks. We enjoyed the beautiful green surroundings, the comfortable house and the large swimming pool. Because it was less hot than usual, there was plenty of time for cycling, walking and visiting the local market in Mirepoix. Kim and Duncan are very hospitable, as is Buddy the dog. In addition to a pleasant chat, they are happy to tell you all about the area and have plenty of tips and tricks.For anyone looking for a relaxing holiday, I would definitely recommend this place.

Great place to stay near Puivert

Great place to stay. Kim and Duncan are friendly and welcoming hosts. Always responsive to anything we needed. The house is mostly on one level with plenty of space. Comfortable beds and furniture. The houses was peaceful and surrounded by nature. It was also an ideal location for the Cathar castles we were visiting. The pool was warm and very nice to use. It is well looked after. Thanks again

an absolute gem of a find

We are 3 couples who always journey to France each year. This year's choice was this lovely house and pool in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The pool and summer kitchen was ideal in the hot weather and we ate outside until late at night under the stars. From here within easy reach we visited Carcasonne and the Monday market at Mirepoix and on Wednesday evening visited the local food festival. Kim and Duncan were really helpful and we all fell in love with Ella the Collie. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Kim ist eine sehr freundliche Gastgeberin, die das Haus sehr liebevoll eingerichtet hat. Der Pool ist sehr schön. Das Haus liegt mitten im GrĂŒnen und es ist sehr ruhig. Was einem klar sein muss: Das Haus liegt vollkommen auf dem Land und in unmittelbarer Umgebung gibt es gar nichts. Der nĂ€chste Supermarkt ist mit dem Auto eine Viertelstunde entfernt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the farmhouse. The family loved the beautiful pool which had the bonus of being Salt water. The house had everything we needed for a family of 6. The only negative was that one of the bedrooms did not have a window, luckily my son and his wife did not mind. It was rather more isolated than the photos suggested but we had a very relaxing time.

Ou encore, l'expĂ©dition d’un objet que nous avions oubliĂ©. La maison est charmante, trĂšs confortable et bien Ă©quipĂ©e avec notamment du joli linge de maison (y compris les serviettes piscine). Mention spĂ©ciale au ravissant jardin et Ă  la belle piscine ! Et quel calme ! La maison se situe en effet dans un hameau au bout d’une toute petite route. Il faut donc prĂ©voir du temps pour les dĂ©placements et dĂ©couvertes de la rĂ©gion. Et savoir que les tĂ©lĂ©phones portables ne captent pas et que la wifi est limitĂ©e.

Fabulous house for a family holiday

We were a family of 7 and all fell in love with this house. Kim and Duncan were absolutely lovely, giving good advice and left us many extras which were much appreciated. The Hameau De Mouche is quite isolated, perfect for a good relaxing break. We were there for the UK Spring Bank Holiday week which found some places including restaurants still closed. The pool area, table tennis room both excellent as is the BBQ area which we found most useful even when wet. Restricted WiFi is a disappointment to modern families. Ella the dog was a delightful companion for the week whilst we were outside.

Fantastic place, lovely couple, perfectly positioned

This is a fantastic place to spend your holidays. The buildings, surroundings, heated pool, facilities provided etc., are all top class. Each of the bedrooms is individually, subtly themed, 2 have ensuites, all are amply sized. There’s a fantastic upstairs seating are to relax and read. The farm house living area is beautifully laid out and decorated with many personal touches. There is an extensive library of holiday reads, DVDs and board games. The kitchen is a delight to cook in and the dishwasher makes such a difference - so much so, we ate in most nights... bringing me to the outside BBQ eating area... a wonderful area with a living ivy curtain giving it nice secluded feel. The other outside area - by the heated pool - is a great spot for lunch and drinks are always cold, thanks to the fridge. The pool itself is glorious, perfectly warm! The location couldn’t be better - loads to see and do in all directions within 30 minutes. Go further afield and you’ve Carcassonne (~1 hr), Perpignan (~1.5hrs) {if you like good wines go visit “Domaine Treloare”, you won’t be disappointed}, and of course Barcelona is only 3-4 hours away!! Finally, Kim and Duncan made sure our stay was perfect. Very available to answer any questions, or provide assistance. A delight to get to know them. We will be back.

Magnifique sejour en campagne dans une tres belle propriete

Nous avons passe une semaine tres relaxante en famille dans cette belle propriete. La maison est decoree avec beaucoup de gout et a tout le necessaire pour se sentir chez soi. Avec ses 4 salles de bain et 4 chambres (plus un grenier amenage), une cuisine toute equipee, un salon avec coin tele, une spacieuse salle a manger ouverte et un grand jardin avec piscine et pataugeoire, elle etait tres confortable pour un grand groupe comme le notre. Les hotes sont tres accueillants et a votre dispositon pour suggerer des chemins de randonnee et activites diverses. Le lac et le village de Puivert, accessibles a pied, permettent de varier les plaisirs meme si notre plus grand bonheur etait de nous relaxer autour de la piscine. Il y a aussi les chateaux Cathares a visiter, ainsi qu'une myriade d'autres excursions possibles. Allez-y les yeux fermes, vous ne le regretterez pas! Nous pensons y retourner l'annee prochaine.

We had been holidaying in France with our family over the last thirty years and it was always a dream to live here and provide the perfect retreat for other people to enjoy. We had been coming to the Aude/Ariege region for over ten years and when the opportunity came up to buy in this special place we just jumped at it. We believe we have the right experience to make it a truly memorable stay. Duncan loves to cook and can provide gourmet meals on request, his fish pie is sublime!

Why they chose this property

With the experience we had of renting various properties throughout France we just knew the exceptional quality of this villa would make it perfect for anybody wanting a successful holiday. We fell in love with this property and it's idyllic surroundings. We used to rent out our main house (home) and live in the villa for the summer but now we just rent out the villa, which makes it a real home from home.
