The Autumn season is on and the aspens are turning shades of gold and copper as the stream is calming to a gentle fall flow. Enjoy crisp mornings with hot coffee on the riverside patio and glorious afternoons.

This simple, quiet mountain getaway is a non-smoking creek side cabin located at 8500 feet in Peaceful Valley, on the Middle Saint Vrain Creek. Two bedrooms, plus a queen futon in the living room, one bath and a wood burning fireplace stove. Through the large windows you'll enjoy lovely views of the valley ridges, the forest, the Saint Vrain, and the wildlife it attracts. The aspen shaded stream-side patio surrounds you in a natural environment. Located just up the road from the Peaceful Valley's beautiful Chapel on the mountain overlooking the Valley. You’ll have easy access to hiking, skiing, fishing, biking, and relaxing in and around the Peaceful Valley and Camp Dick campgrounds. Enjoy nearby communities of Nederland, Lyons, and Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and walk to the Roosevelt National Forest. Whether you're planning a simple retreat or a romantic getaway for two you'll have memorable days and incredibly starry or moonlit nights. You can get active in the great outdoors or relax to the sound of the creek as it passes by two sides of this cozy mountain retreat. Although there is Wi-Fi, this is a lovely place to unplug and enjoy the natural moment. This is a Verizon valley! No reception other than Wi-Fi for the rest!

Cozy Getaway

Peaceful Valley Cabin

Charlie’s cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It is a simple and peaceful place to relax in the mountains along the Saint Vrain. The cabin is one of the cleanest, and Charlie was very attentive and helpful with any issues that arose. We would love to visit again!

Relaxing and convenient to RMNP

We enjoyed the quiet time sitting along the creek along the proprty. The cabin was very close to the Wild Basin area and close enough to Estes Park to enjoy RMNP/Bear Lake property. This place was perfect for a private getaway in the woods with convenient access to nearby points of interest. I would definitely stay here again if I return to the area!

What a wonderful cabin. Every room has a view of aspens and evergreens. You pull in and here the sounds of the river below and you immediately feel your tension ease away. We had a peaceful stay.

A little slice of paradise

The beauty and sound of the river flowing beside the cabin was mesmerizing and so relaxing! The perfect location as we were in easy driving distance of Estes park and took advantage of several hiking opportunities. It's not everyday that you can walk down a city street/golf course and see a herd of Elk walking by! We loved this place! Charlie was an excellent host!

Looking for quite and relaxation

Our cabin was very clean and well stocked. We loved being able to leave the windows open and listen to the babbling brook. Nicely secluded. Felt safe. Our host lives on the property, very welcoming but not intrusive. Enjoyed the quite.

Peaceful getaway

We had a wonderful stay! It was chilly and windy outside but we stayed warm and toasty inside. The cabin has plenty of room for a group and all the amenities you would need. We played games, cooked some great family meals and enjoyed an evening stroll to the nearby campground area and trails and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. A river paradise

Breathtaking location on the Middle St. Vrain River and a great homebase to explore the areas and communities near the Rocky Mountain National Park! The platform next to the river provided natural entertainment and flyfishing. Great place for peace and tranquility! Charlie is very accommodating and just a friendly person to talk to. Wonderful Hideaway

It has not been 48 hours since we left the cabin and I am longing to return. You are completely away from city life in a rural environment in the Rockies. We have photos of hummingbirds at feeders outside the kitchen window, the Middle St Vrain River rushing past the cabin, we loved the smell of pine, and the sounds of a variety of birds. The host is an exceptionally nice man who loves the environment and knows the area well.

Absolutely great place to rest from city life

Nice, cozy house in the valley, we were fall asleep every night with sound of river, were waken up with it and ready for next day, well rested. Plenty of birds, near the house always much cooler than in city. Several trails near by, parks. You need to grab groceries with you on the way to house. Charlie is great owner, very nice and helpful. Thank you Charlie, we had great time at your place!!!

I found this vacation VRBO cabin listing in a familiar area I like in Colorado. We enjoyed the cabin, and its setting, more than I can say. The cabin was EVEN BETTER than indicated in the listing. It was PERFECT for us. It IS a Simple Cabin - with everything you could possibly need for a stay. And Charlie, was the Perfect Host. We only visited with him briefly, but he is considerate and helpful. I genuinely hope we will be able to schedule another wonderful, peaceful time at Charlie's Simple Mountain Cabin. Charlie lives on the property but we never saw or heard him and we might as well have been there all alone. Although close to the highway and a few other cabins, the vegetation and constant song of the creek created a peaceful seclusion. The cabin was great: very clean, functional and well-stocked but unassuming and comfortable. The creek wraps around two sides of the house and the patio is a perfect place to watch animals and birds. Among others we saw Mink, a Western Tanager, a Flycatcher and one night we heard coyotes calling nearby. Charlie is an appealing host and we look forward to getting to know him better on future visits.

This place has it all!!

Charlie had everything covered and then some!! The cabin is clean and very comfortable. The location can’t be beat!!! Crack the windows and the music of the water will fill your rooms. You won’t have to go far to find wildlife or hiking spots! I could go on forever. We can’t wait to come back!!

Peaceful Valley by the St. Vrain

Charlie's place is in a beautiful setting, on the banks of the St. Vrain river. The two bedrooms overlook the water, and the sound lulls you to sleep. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, all the basics and everything you would need to cook for several people. Living room and beds were very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the patio down by the river, relaxing and watching hummingbirds. Charlie is one of those people you immediately like, very welcoming and eager to tell you about the local nature and area.

Excellent location

We thoroughly enjoyed this place especially the patio that overlooks the mountain stream and the many hummingbirds that visit the feeders. This place is a real mountain retreat while still close to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Awesome little cabin

Had a wonderful stay at the simple cabin. So quiet and peacefull. The sound of the rushing creek is amazing. Awesome hikes close by. Even caught a few cut throat trout from the creek.

Absolutely beautiful landscape.

;Charlie was right there to meet us with a smile. We toured the cabin and he gave us check in and out information. The setting is just beautiful, The little creek that runs just behind the cabin is so peaceful to sit by. Enjoyed out beer and wine out there. Charlie was available if we needed him, which we did not, except for directions to places. Would definitely recommend this cabin.

The best little hide away

Overall, Charlie was a nice man who we only spoke with twice. He gave us full privacy. We wanted to say goodbye but didn't want to disturb him. He lives right there bu the cabin. This cabin is perfect! Best location. Right in the moutains. The water behind the cabin was so pretty and peacful to listen to. Sitting on the back patio right by it, nothing was better. I'm already planning a trip back to this location. We had everything we need. This is the perfect place. Get all you need in the city before heading out. Stay in the mountains the entire trip and explore. You will not regret this experience. Thank you Charlie for sharing your property with us.

Peaceful Valley for a reason

Wonderful, rustic cabin, right on the creek in Peaceful Valley, away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park but still close to RMNP. Host is wonderful and accommodating; can’t say enough good things. Very peaceful getaway.
