About this property

Cozy cabin nestled in the rocks near fishing and hiking

“Hot Tub and fenced area recently added”
Newly updated cozy cabin nestled up against the rocks with all the comforts of home. All new furniture and bedding (comfy mattresses and pillows). You can sit on the front or back deck of the house and hear the sounds of the Middle St Vrain River down below. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials you need. We have yard games, board games, a dart board, a foosball table, an arcade game, and good Wi-Fi. Main bedroom is large with a queen size bed with wood burning fireplace and seating, smart tv, walk in closet with light up makeup vanity, and access to a private back patio. Firewood provided during the winter months if you would like to use the wood burning fireplace. Second sleeping area is a loft overlooking the living room with a queen bed and a smart tv. The cabin is located on Riverside Drive in South St. Vrain Canyon and accessible via County maintained paved roads that are plowed regularly during the winter. It is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Lyons, 15 minutes to Allenspark, 30 minutes to Estes Park, 30 minutes to Boulder or Longmont, and 45 minutes to Eldora Ski area. It is also within a 15 minute drive to a very cute little town with a country store for essentials such as milk and eggs, gas, a few restaurants, a liquor store, and a spring to refill water containers for free. We are near the Middle St. Vrain River with great fishing, hiking trails, off-roading trails, biking, etc. all close by. The town of Lyons is very cute with restaurants, ice cream shop, and lots of things to do throughout the year such as a huge blue grass music festival during the summer, tubing on the river, and a parade of lights in December. If you have any special requests just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. A four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required from December through March. No pets other than max of 2 dogs. Please mark if you are bringing a pet so the pet fee will be applied and we know about it. No pets on carpeted loft or closet. Keep closet door closed and use the pet/child gate on the stairs. Additional charges will apply if pet damage occurs. We hope you enjoy your stay at the Alpine Escape!

Short Peaceful Trip
We stayed for a few days while my husband had business in Denver. Peaceful, quiet, clean. Great little property to spend some downtime. Cindy was very helpful when needed. We would stay again.

PERFECT Alpine Escape!
Our family of 4 stayed for a week over spring break in March. The house was perfect for us- two young boys and two parents. The house had everything we needed and so much more. Sufficient disposables like tp, paper towels, garbage bags, dish detergent, and laundry detergent were thoughtfully stocked. Plenty of towels, pillows, and blankets. The hot tub was a HUGE hit, we used it every single day. All the games ensured we were never bored during downtime. The kids loved gobbling back and spying out the large windows at the neighborhood turkeys. The hosts had shoveled out 4 feet of snow for us before we arrived- effort that was very much appreciated. Communication with host was excellent. But of course the stand out feature of the house was the location. Beautiful, quiet mountain road was a dream. It’s a gorgeous and easy drive up route 7 to RMNP. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again when we come back to RMNP!

Awe inspiring cabin!
We loved everything about this cozy and tasteful cabin! Our host, Cindy, was quick to respond when we had a questions prior to and during our stay. Though we didn't spend much time there, the backyard (rock cliff, large boulders, hammock and inviting deck) was beautiful when viewed from the main bedroom patio doors. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. Great selection of games for family fun. The neighborhood is quiet and the location is convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest hiking trails which were the main focus of our stay.

This is our family's only vacation rental property. We use it regularly and just share it when we are not there, so it is very well equipped. We also personally clean it ourselves after each rental, so we make sure it is done right. We love spending time out at the Alpine Escape in the winter and the summer. It is so nice when the water if flowing and you can sit outside and hear it from across the way. The river sounds eco off the rock so it sounds like it is right there when you are on the back deck. There are lots of wildlife in the area such as a fox's den in the cliff behind the house, a flock of turkeys that visit regularly, bears, mountain lions, moose, and river otters to name a few. We have great fishing, hiking, and 4x4 trail riding in the area. It is also very fun to go tubing or kayaking in Lyons when it is warm enough.

Why they chose this property

Our property has so many personal touches and it is very private and peaceful. The drive out is easy with so many beautiful views as it follows along the Middle St. Vrain River in the South St. Vrain Canyon. We have food, gas, a natural spring to fill your water containers, and a liquor store located only 15 minutes away in Ferncliff area. We are also a 15-minute drive to Lyons or Allenspark, and 30 minutes to Estes Park, Longmont, or Boulder.

What makes this property unique

The rock outcroppings are very unique and so beautiful on our property. We have a really cool table/seating area on the back deck along with a propane firepit and grill. The sounds of the river across the street is my favorite part! We also have a huge hammock up in the rocks out back.
