About this property

Homely Cottage in Town Centre & Near River Stour

Tucked into a quiet mews courtyard in the heart of Manningtree, this cottage was once stables for the historic White Hart Inn. Today it's been beautifully converted into a stylish, character-filled space that still carries echoes of its past while offering a genuinely comfortable, modern stay.
Recently upgraded throughout, the cottage now has a smart, contemporary feel without losing its charm. Downstairs, a big corner sofa anchors the open-plan living space, perfect for sinking into after a day exploring the area. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook and eat in, whether you're here for a few days or longer.

Upstairs, the open-plan bedroom is a genuinely comfortable space, with a desk for anyone who needs to work during their stay, and a modern bathroom finished to a high standard. Outside, the cottage opens onto a charming shared mews courtyard - a lovely spot to enjoy a quiet coffee, though as a shared space it's not private to you alone. The original sash windows throughout add real character, though as with any traditional window, they have their own knack to opening and closing, which we're happy to talk you through on arrival.

Central Manningtree is one of Essex's most charming small towns: independent cafes, pubs and shops are all a short walk away, along with the River Stour and its waterside walks. Ipswich, Colchester and Harwich are all within a 20 minute drive, making this an excellent base for exploring the wider Essex and Suffolk coast.
