The Space:
Set over multiple floors, this former fisherman’s cottage has just the right balance of character features and modern, coastal-inspired styling. On the ground floor, feel instantly at home from the comfort of your cosy living room. After long day’s exploring, nothing beats settling into the velvet sofa with a film on the Smart TV. And when the nights are chilly, get the woodburner roaring.
Its sociable open-plan layout makes for a welcoming flow. The living room leads onto the dining area and well-equipped kitchen, which has everything you need to rustle up delicious holiday meals.
Head upstairs and you’ll find two charming bedrooms - one king and one double - with wooden sash windows and exposed stone walls. As well as a desk area to work in and a modern family bathroom with a large walk-in shower. On sunny days, head outside to the stunning garden that’s bursting with life. Enjoy morning cups of tea in the sun or see in sundowners with a glass of wine in hand - heaven.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole cottage and garden.
The Neighborhood:
Dartmouth is a picturesque town on the River Dart in Devon and the cottage is positioned in the centre of it all! Explore Dartmouth Castle, a historic fortress offering stunning views of the estuary. Stroll along the scenic Embankment and enjoy the bustling harbour with its charming shops and cafes. Visit the Britannia Royal Naval College, a striking landmark.
Take a boat trip along the river or venture to nearby beaches like Blackpool Sands. Wander through the historic streets to find art galleries and unique boutiques. Savour fresh seafood at local restaurants and experience the town’s vibrant festivals and regattas. Dartmouth promises a delightful mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. Find more local tips and trips in your Guest Guide, which is available upon booking.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Devon, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. Free parking can be found in the surrounding streets, and there is also a paid car park around 7 minutes walk away.
If you are travelling by train, the nearest station is in Totnes. It's about half an hour's drive from the property and taxis are available in the town. There is also a good bus route from Totnes train station to Dartmouth Pontoon, from which it's then a 5-minute walk to the cottage.
Other Things to Note:
Please note, the cottage is on quite a steep hill and whilst it is possible to park outside to load/unload, it is a typical narrow harbour town road. The staircase is also quite quirky and spirals around. So it may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations.
Please do not park in the carport beneath the property as this space belongs to our neigbour.
