Fab bunkhouse. Basic clean with a logburner and lounge and an excellent pub within walking distance. We will be back!

This property is in a very beautiful and idyllic spot. It has its own private ‘beach’ complete with bbq. We experienced the most beautiful moonlit night when we stayed. There is enough accommodation for a large family reunion, which ours was. Check in was easy and kitchen fully functional and well equipped. I recommend yes, but with reservations. If you choose to stay, you should check and re- check that the cleaners have been. I’m being honest here - cleaners disingenuously claimed that we had checked in at 11 so they didn’t want to disturb us.The truth is we checked in after 1 pm. I got the impression that the company superiors, while being responsive, fully backed cleaners’ claims but refunded the cleaning fee. For that many thanks to them. But, I spent precious time of a family reunion, cleaning - it took me about 4 hours to clear up after the previous guests’ party, complete with empty beer cans and dubious residue on tables and vomit. Besides a family reunion bear in mind this place seems to be rented out for raucous parties - I can’t imagine what the neighbours’ peace is. However once you are sure that cleaning has been done, it is ideal. Beds are comfortable and facilities good ( if clean). Bring own sheets pillows and duvets or sleeping bags. Also towels and bath mats, soap, shampoo etc. I’d say please be mindful of people who live there. Has the potential to be perfect but I the rating I am giving is a good lesson on how your employees can bring you down.
We hired the bunkhouse for two nights of birthday celebrations and walking. Great location with stunning walks right outside the door. Wainwright’s Inn is a few steps away, as is the co-op with its little cafe upstairs. I hope to make our stay an annual event. Highly recommended!
