Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burner included. . Enclosed patio with garden furtniture. Small detached garden. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Within the picturesque hamlet of Whitton and only 1 mile from the sought after village of Rothbury, this stone built semi detached cottage offers cosy, country holiday accommodation over three floors. The lounge boasts the friendly comfort of a wood burning stove making this property suitable in all seasons. In summer, cushions for the outside chairs are provided. In addition there is a small enclosed garden to the side of which is a living willow dome.

It is a lovely easy walk into nearby Rothbury either on the footpath on the roadside or using a public right of way over the field. The property enjoys a tranquil rural aspect; the Simonside Hills are to the rear with views toward Cragside to the front. The property is also on the edge of the national park close to the designated Dark Sky’s area. As well as providing miles upon miles of walking routes and cycle paths the park is the first of its kind in England to be designated as a Dark Sky Park. The award winning Kielder Observatory in Kielder Water is THE place to go to gaze at the stars after dark. In addition to the Simonside Hills to the rear of the cottage you have views toward Cragside from the front and the glorious coast is a short drive away as is Alnwick and Alnwick Castle.

A complete delight, the thick stone walls providing a lovely sense of safety and security, the scent of wood burning again, adding 'snug' in mid winter. Everything I could think of needing had been thought of. The area is of course a hidden gem. I look forward to another visit soon.
