About this property
Lakefront Camp on Molasses Pond, Easily Accessible to Mount Desert Island.
THIS LAKE CAMP IS FOR OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS AND COFFEE LOVERS!
Recent Upgrades: the owners have made recent upgrades to the outdoor furniture, water sports equipment, and the boathouse.
We have added four (4) polywood Adirondack chairs, as well as one (1) polywood picnic table (to arrive mid-July).
We have added four (4) kayaks (3 singles, and 1 double/tandem); a sailboard, and a Sunfish sailboat.
In the boathouse for the kids, we will be adding a newer air hockey table, a foosball table, and a ping pong table.
Reservations are for Saturday to Saturday only, and check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10am. If you are a serious fisherman, you can also reserve a fishing boat through Lou Kiefer; his phone number is (207) 460-2006, and his email is lkiefer507@gmail.com. The rate is $400 per week.
Nestled in the trees near the edge of a quiet spring-fed lake, the cottage affords privacy, coolness, and beautiful views. It is located 30 minutes from Ellsworth, with its many stores, which serves as the gateway to Acadia National Park, and is within easy driving distance of 'the real DownEast' and even Canadian attractions. One hour from Bangor.
The camp is about 30 feet from the lake. There is also a second building which functions as a workshop and storage area for water and fishing equipment, and also has a clothes dryer but no washer due to plumbing restrictions. There are 2 laundromats in Ellsworth.
There is a dock, and 4 kayaks (1 dbl., 3 sgl). Molasses Pond is a clear, calm lake and is 2 miles long and spring fed. Excellent swimming from the dock, and there is a sandy public beach at the head of the lake.
Access from the driveway is by means of a long ramp and 7 stairs. Pets require a $50 cleaning fee.
The 2 bedrooms have double beds supplemented by six (6) single beds on the 2nd floor. The rear windows in the loft has an air conditioner. A heat pump/air conditioner is mounted on the living room wall and has a remote control for setting the respective hot and cold temperatures.
The kitchen has an electric stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware, dishes & utensils. and a wood stove. There is also an outdoor gas grill. The kitchen table seats 5 comfortably. WIFI coverage throughout. The living room has a TV (as does the loft), wood stove, mounted deer head and moose horns. The screened porch has sliding windows with great views of the lake and fishing loons.
Lawn furniture and a picnic table provide great outdoor lounging & eating.

About the host
Hosted by Paul Dodge

I was a pastor in Maine during the past, but Winnie & I now live in New Holland, PA. We usually use the cottage ourselves the first part of the summer and in the fall, but are flexible about the dates.
We also lived in Thailand more than 20 years, and on Long Island, NY, for 9 years.
